I had an unfortunate situation that was stuck in an investigation phase for months with little movement with one attorney. I decided to look for a more experienced and specialized attorney. Before I consulted with Jessica, I met and talked to two other attorneys. Those two attorneys quickly indicated how serious my case was, which unsettled me in a big way. Then they started boasting about their experience and tried to get me to sign a retainer on the spot. With Jessica, the experience was totally different. During our initial consultation, Jessica pointed out what things were in my favor, what challenges were ahead, and what plan she had to overcome the challenges. I felt very comfortable with her during the consultation. Rather than pressuring me to sign a retainer, she even suggested me to consult with other attorneys to get a feel. After walking out of her office, I knew right away Jessica was the attorney for me.
After the retainer agreement was signed, Jessica started working on my case right away. She talked to the prosecutor and gather information about the investigation. She responded very quickly when I had questions or concerns. The investigation was completed in less than 2 weeks! It was a great relief for my family and me. I am very grateful for her service. She truly deserves A+ rating.

I used Sean to help me upgrade my OTH discharge. On our first visit, Sean was extremely professional and caring. He listened to my story with full attention. We went over my medical, mental and personnel records and made a timeline from when I first joined to when I left the service. Eventually, we put together a well designed case to submit to the Naval Discharge Review Board. I was not expecting it, but Sean was able to upgrade my discharge to full Honorable from an OTH. Even after opening up his own firm, Sean stay true and kept me up to date on my case. I cant thank Sean enough, it has been a long journey but I finally got the discharge that I truly deserve. We hired Adam to assist us with starting our new business. Adam met with us to help us understand the types of corporations and what worked best for us. He worked with us on our operating agreement and walked us through the entire trademark process including warning us about scams that may show up afterward (and they did!). Adam also reviewed and recommended changes to the terms and conditions and privacy policies for our website. Our business is food and agriculture-based, and he assisted us to find other resources we needed to ensure we comply with VA law. He's responsive, knowledgeable and professional. We even hired him to help us write a contract for our nanny. If we need a lawyer we call Adam. Don't tell him I said this, but I'd probably pay him more for the service he provides.

My name is Wazhma. I have never referred anyone to Mr. English. I hired Mr. English because someone fabricated lies on me. Mr. English showed up one hour prior to the actual court time. He was very professional and he proved throughout the court time that everything was fabricated by the other party. Mr. English won the cases. A bit lacking on customer service and manners. Every time I call them my "hellos", "good mornings" and "have a nice day" are greeted with silence, a hang up click or some snarky response.
Do they know they're talking to paying customers? I wonder....

Bottom Line - Colleen Haddow is the BEST attorney I could have ever wished for --my only regret is that I didn't start with her from the beginning.
Ms. Colleen Haddow came as a recommendation from my previous law firm following failed mediation in a highly complex, contentious, and financially draining divorce and custody case. The opposing counsel - whose professional reputation precedes her as a person devoid of ethics and civility, made finding a willing, capable, and affordable replacement daunting. Colleen personally and immediately took my call for an intake interview. When I opened by informing her of who opposing counsel was, she simply laughed with complete confidence, accepted my case, and immediately got my case moving on the right track.
Unlike opposing counsel in this case, Colleen is a legal professional with impeccable integrity and ethics; but not to be confused with someone who submits to bully tactics or shies away from confrontation in or out of the courtroom. In contrast, Ms. Haddow is emotionally intelligent and well versed in the rules of the court to effectively persuade and, if need be, compel cooperation from even the most difficult of personalities. Perry charged $2500 retainer, never billed against, refuses to return it (which is the law). Yet he claims in his appeal to the courts about his gun charge that he describes himself as " VERY PRO-LAW ENFORCEMENT" (journalstar.com) yet tells me to hire an attorney to contact his Insurance about getting my retainer returned. Cannot understand why he does not enforce the law here and return my retainer?

He filed counterclaim leading us (3) to think we had damages instead should have filed immediate dismissal which we asked him for as soon as we hired him but instead he gave plaintiff all of our personal information; ssn, bank accounts, did not block out any of that but plaintiffs attorney blocked out all of their information....if that is your strategy to sell out your clients because you are too busy fighting 2 lawsuits of your own....hope you do not do any other clients an injustice ....we asked for immediate dismissal and you not us wanted to file counterclaim and you ran up our bill. Why did you change my original review? Did not want others to see it?
