It was very pleasant working with Mr. Korody. During the free consultation, he gave me sound advice on what to do if I wanted to represent myself and also what he can do as my attorney. When Atty. Matthew Collett was referred to me to handle my case, the first thing I did was reviewed his profiles against the other attorney profiles that I had in my list. I was impressed with all that he had successfully accomplished and I said to myself "hmmm...this guy would fit in the case". Recently, actually about three years ago I had a lawsuit brought against me. I didn't know who to turn to. Know one I actually knew, even attorney friends from my church could give me any clear direction. At this point, I prayed that God would help me. This was a potential life-changing event in my life. I then received a letter in the mail from Jimerson & Cobb Law Firm. I felt this letter was a gateway to the answer I was seeking. I then retained Jimerson & Cobb to represent me in this matter. Knowing my time to responding to this lawsuit was nearing its deadline to respond, they went right to work. They responded right away. Throughout my case, I felt the assurance of a seasoned, professional, family atmosphere from the entire firm. I was represented by Hans Wahl who is a very knowledgable professional attorney. He felt my burden and carried it throughout the case. Finally our day came, he as always he was well prepared to take my case to trial. But, before our trial, is mediation (court ordered in all cases), and much to my dismay, while in mediation, he mediated my case with the opposing party who reluctantly gave in to Mr. Hans demands after not giving in to the pressure from their demands. It was a classic case of David vs. Goliath. I was very pleased with the results that Mr. Hans Wahl produced for me. An attorney with the knowledge and experience like Curtis Fallgatter brings to the table, helps level that playing field. This firm did not go the distance. Do not and would never recommend this firm to do your case justice. First off be mindful of the name Porter Law “Firm.” Porter NEVER worked the case. We had no communication with Porter EVER. Even when requested that he take over the case because we didn’t feel that the case was being handled aggressively as we were promised when hired. Initially we had hope. Thatcher was on the case and he was always prompt, he showed up and answered questions, and he was confident. Then it all changed. First, the state attorney was reassigned from the case then Thatcher left the firm and the case was reassigned to Abuetello. Always late, it got to the point where we just asked when will you be there so we don’t have to wait for all the other cases, uncertain and never forthcoming with answers to questions and had to start over with the case because she was newly assigned in place of Thatcher. We brought up the request to try for entrapment only to be told “ that’s too hard of an angle.” A couple of depositions later, requests for more money and finally we could talk negotiations only the negotiations were null. Usually at the trial point you would think a couple of offers would be extended, no. We got 1 offer. Then Abuetello tells us she is leaving the firm and the state attorney is new to the case and it’s this offer or risking it to go to trial. What other option is there. We felt rushed and without options.Now we have a sentence of prison time… A paid lawyer got us what a public defender could have. Later received closing documents and additional requests for more money. Highly disappointed in this firm and would NEVER recommend.

I was arrested last May and had to rely on the Public Defenders office to defend me after paying an outrageous Bond with nothing left over to hire an attorney. I had a legal defense to the charges but the Public Defenders office told me it wasn't valid and that I should just take the 22 months in prison the State was offering. The prosecutor was out for blood and just when I lost all hope of maintaining my freedom I was able to make enough money to hire Melinda as my Attorney.
During my first meeting with her, I knew she would fight for me. She told me I didn't need to worry about the charges and that my fight was now her fight and that she would get me an outcome that wouldn't involve prison or jail time.
After explaining my defense to Melinda, she confirmed what I had suspected, that it was valid and a way we could mitigate the charges contrary to what my public defender had told me.
I just heard from Melinda today and she was able to get my Felony charge reduced to a Misdemeanor and I went from 22 months in prison to just 12 months on Misdemeanor probation. With two small children, a wife, an elderly mother and Grandmother to provide for, going to prison would have destroyed my family's lives and mine as well.
If you feel like your case is hopeless and beyond your control, it's only because you haven't hired Melinda as your attorney. There are a lot of people in this world who will take your money and promise you a great outcome, but Melinda actually cares about her clients, fights for them and doesn't let the prosecutor conspire with the public defender's office and police to put innocent people away for years in prison.
I would literally be in prison right now if it hadn't been for Melinda. I literally owe her my life. She's given me the freedom to raise my kids, earn a living, and move on with my life from this horrible experience. Don't even talk to another attorney... HIRE HER TODAY!
