The Risley crew does a good job! They did the entire process for me all I did was supply them with the information requested and they did the rest. Just received my certificate of pardon 1/10/25 the process was started around September or October of 2023 just have to be patient.

After both the father and mother died of a young Native American girl my wife had coached forever, Mr. Gifford provided me information and assistance on the steps to help ensure the child's overall positive well-being and potentially adopt the child. Without a Will in place, things can get pretty complicated.

I cannot say enough good things about Kim Rennie but would like to say this, I have been involved in complex litigation for over 22 years. I know a lot of attorneys and have watched a lot of attorneys work in court, but I have never met an attorney quite like Kim. Kim represented two of my sons in two separate cases and to watch her work was an honor. Kim treated our family like family members rather than just a client. She was thoroughly prepared for the cases she took on and was 100% successful, a true Champion for our family. I highly recommend Kim to every person in need of legal assistance.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot thank Roger Hale from Dan Davis Law Firm enough for his outstanding assistance with my VA disability case and the case manager, Sarah. His expertise, professionalism, and dedication were instrumental in helping me achieve a 100% combined rating. From the very beginning, Roger & Sarah demonstrated a deep understanding of the VA claims process and guided me every step of the way. His clear communication, attention to detail, and commitment to my case made all the difference. If filing bankruptcy I do NOT recommend. I came here based off mostly good reviews and looked past the bad ones that seem to be accurate. The beginning was great everyone responded and was amazing. Before they even filed I had issues with being asked for the same documents I had sent several times and I had issues getting any updates or responses to anything. The paralegal Jay not very friendly especially when he thinks you’ve over stepped. Very rude and when I asked for an update at one point was told “ well I’m tired of getting punched in the dick hole with all these bankruptcy cases I have to review” nice way to speak to a client. We were made to feel as if we shouldn’t even be trying to file because of the money made previously. From that point I should have gotten my money back but was already far in the process. Now it’s been filed and confirmed and I have been trying to get answers to questions since the end of October. I’ve sent several emails and made several calls and left messages with NO response. Mr. Woods himself is super nice and a great guy however the way things are handled by his staff is the worst experience I’ve ever had.

I had the opportunity to work with Daspit Law Firm for a personal injury case, and I must say, their level of professionalism and care for their clients is exceptional. From the initial consultation to the resolution of my case, they demonstrated a deep understanding of personal injury law and a genuine concern for my well-being. One aspect that stood out to me was their thorough approach to gathering evidence and building a strong case. They left no stone unturned in investigating the details of my accident and ensuring that all necessary documentation was in place. This attention to detail instilled a sense of confidence in their ability to represent me effectively. Throughout the legal process, the team at Daspit Law Firm maintained clear and open communication, keeping me informed about the progress of my case and patiently addressing any questions or concerns I had. This level of transparency and accessibility was truly appreciated, as it helped alleviate much of the stress associated with legal proceedings. Moreover, their dedication to achieving the best possible outcome for their clients was evident in every interaction. They negotiated skillfully on my behalf and worked tirelessly to secure a fair settlement that addressed my needs and expenses resulting from the injury. Overall, I highly recommend Daspit Law Firm to anyone in need of legal representation for personal injury cases. Their professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for their clients set them apart as a top-notch law firm in Oklahoma.

I hired Brent in Oklahoma City to represent me for a false claim where I was charged with 6 felonies that was said to happen 13 years Previous. I had mental health records and thousands of pages supporting my claim. I hired Brent as I was a veteran also. After a year and 22 thousand dollars Brent quit 3 days before my trial. I served 9 months in prison for something that never happened. Brent makes deals if it favors him. He knows I faced a life sentence on a lie. During the year he represented me in Oklahoma Superior Court and never file any nor submitted any paperwork. I had to hire another attorney to investigate his interactions with the court. He failed his duty and his oath. Do not hire Brent unless you have and endless supply of money.

I highly recommend Mr. Dishman and his staff for legal services across all branches and aspects of military law. From my first contact I experienced prompt and professional service. My e-mails and calls were answered immediately. Payment, terms, and conditions were clearly stated and laid out. They worked on a very flexible payment schedule custom to my situation. After contacting a SHARP advocate and being informed that due to my circumstances my report would clearly identify my assailant regardless of filing a restricted or unrestricted report, I contacted Mr. Dishman. This lawfirm assisted me in numerous ways that would have been over looked if I had accepted a military lawyer. My case was very complex, untraditional, and in some ways unprecedented because I was the first female to graduate from the Guard Officer Leadership Development program. My sexual assault occured while I was in this program but prior to receiving a federal commission through accelerated OCS. Prior to my graduation the program did not keep records. Although the investigation is still open my lawyer guided, advocated, and assisted me in recieving the honorable separation from the military. Mr. Dishman's knowledge and expertise regarding the military justice system are unparalleled. He was a true advocate for justice and did not allow the military to coerce me with empty threats which did not apply to service members in my military status! Thanks to this office I was able to professionally stand my ground and confidently fight for my rights. I am very satisfied with my results.

It is rare these days to find a brilliant, legal mind, a deeply, compassionate heart, and an unwavering commitment to the truth in an attorney these days. If you want someone with integrity and who will go to bat for you despite the odds, Brent Dishman is that kind of attorney. I had a very complex case that went before the AFBCMR that had no guarantee of a positive outcome, but Mr. Dishman believed in the justness of my case. He argued it brilliantly and relentlessly, even going so far as representing me before members of the U.S. Senate in an attempt to right a wrong. Because of the unending bureaucracy in D.C., this fight is not yet over; but that has not stopped him from continuing to fight to right an injustice that was done to me by the Air Force many years ago. Brent is without question honest, genuine, compassionate, and caring. He is not an attorney who is in it "just for the money". He cares about justice for his clients.

Roger Reneau and Courtney Koster were huge helps with my divorce. I knew from the beginning that it wouldn’t be an easy process but they made me feel confident the whole time. I was kept thoroughly informed during the waiting periods and I always received quick responses to any questions/concerns I had. I never doubted their work and I’m super thankful I was recommended to the Reneau Law Group.

I resigned from Oklahoma Natural Gas earlier this year due to 8 years of blatant discrimination for being openingly gay. After filing a complaint with the EEOC and then given a right to sue they also gave me a list of referrals for potential lawyers. The Battle Law Firm was on the list so I contacted Mr. Battle through email. After filling out an intake form Mr. Battle said he was "Very interested" in my case but was currently busy and had some vacation time coming and to circle back to contact him in 3-4 weeks which I did. I explained I had reached out to another firm and one day before the consult after letting Mr. Battle know the previous firm had declined I received an email now stating he was to busy to even meet for 30 min to evaluate my case or not after waiting almost a month. I would highly recommend that Mr. Battle remove himself from the EEOC ref list as it would be a complete waste of time dealing with him and waiting almost a month just hoping to be heard with no commitment. Complete lack of ethics in my view. Ultimately I think what I have realized is this state just does not want gays in the state at all whatsoever even in 2024. So the low cost of living isn't worth the mental stress of living here any longer. So Oklahoma can continue to be the bottom of the barrel in education and diversity I unfortunately am now going to be forced out of the state so I can truly be competitive in the workplace and survive financially. I was cordial understanding his time was important and even said so in my correspondence with him. Yet lead along by the nose for over a month just hoping to be heard not at all expecting a commitment. I give up this state will continue to discriminate therefore embolding these monopolies like OG&E and ONG to continue to keep the Gays out as long as possible. I would think The Battle group would just have the morals to right up front say no and not waste someone's valuable time. My time is also valuable just as his is. I would def pass on ever using this firm. Hopefully by the end of the year I can move and just forget Oklahoma altogether. This review is exactly what happened not anything more I have the emails to prove it. RESPONSE TO REPLY FROM FIRM: Your comment about my 8 years im not understanding. I spent those 8 years thinking if I worked hard I would advance. Secondly I paid no other consult fee's and no one would even look at my evidence cause no one wants to take on these large monopolies. I still have about 30 days left in my right to sue so you could have just rescheduled. And as I stated in the original review I will leave because its not going to get better here. Your just upset I called you out for blatantly blowing me off period.

What a Government Lawyer Can Do for You

A government lawyer specializes in legal issues related to government policies, regulations, and disputes involving public entities. Whether you are a private individual, business, or government agency, a government lawyer provides expert guidance on navigating the complexities of government law. These attorneys handle cases ranging from constitutional law, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and government contracts to defending or challenging government actions.

Government lawyers help individuals and organizations understand their rights and obligations under the law, represent them in disputes with government agencies, and assist in matters of government contracting, procurement, or public policy.

When Should I Hire a Government Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a government lawyer in several situations involving government regulations, compliance, or disputes. Common reasons to hire a government lawyer include:

  • Government contracts and procurement: If you are bidding for or negotiating a contract with a government agency, a lawyer can help ensure compliance with federal, state, or local contracting rules.
  • Regulatory compliance: Businesses operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, environmental sectors) often need legal guidance to comply with government regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Government investigations: If you're being investigated by a government agency such as the IRS, SEC, or EPA, a government lawyer can help defend you against allegations or negotiate settlements.
  • Challenging government actions: If a government agency has denied a permit, license, or benefit, a lawyer can help you appeal or challenge the decision in court.
  • Constitutional and civil rights issues: If you believe your constitutional rights have been violated by a government entity, such as in cases involving free speech or discrimination, a government lawyer can help you seek justice.
  • Public policy or lobbying efforts: If you are involved in lobbying or advocating for policy changes at the local, state, or federal level, a government lawyer can provide legal advice on compliance with lobbying laws and strategies for effective advocacy.

Hiring a government lawyer early in the process can help you navigate complex legal frameworks and avoid costly mistakes when dealing with government-related legal issues.

What Does a Government Lawyer Do?

A government lawyer provides a wide range of services that cover interactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities. They can:

  • Assist with government contracts: Helping clients navigate procurement laws, drafting contracts, and resolving disputes related to government contracting.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice: Offering guidance on meeting regulatory requirements for industries subject to federal, state, or local laws.
  • Handle administrative law matters: Representing clients before government agencies, such as appealing administrative decisions, applying for permits, or defending against regulatory enforcement actions.
  • Challenge or defend government actions: Representing clients in lawsuits involving government agencies, including constitutional challenges, civil rights violations, or disputes over government decisions.
  • Negotiate settlements with government entities: If a government agency is pursuing legal action against you or your business, a lawyer can negotiate settlements to avoid costly litigation.
  • Advocate for policy changes: Advising clients on legal strategies for influencing public policy, including lobbying and drafting legislation.
  • Litigate constitutional issues: Handling cases related to the Constitution, such as First Amendment rights, due process violations, or unlawful government actions.

How Are Government Lawyers Paid?

Government lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: For ongoing legal matters, such as regulatory compliance or government contract disputes, lawyers may charge by the hour. Hourly rates can vary depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as drafting a government contract or filing an administrative appeal, some lawyers charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For clients who need ongoing legal support, such as businesses frequently interacting with government agencies, a lawyer may charge a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases involving litigation, such as civil rights violations, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Government Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a government lawyer depends on the complexity of the legal issue, the lawyer's experience, and their fee structure. Here are some general cost estimates:

  • Hourly rates: Government lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, depending on their experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fees: For specific legal services, such as drafting a government contract, flat fees can range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the nature of the service.
  • Retainer fees: A retainer for ongoing legal work with government agencies can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the scope and frequency of the work.
  • Contingency fees: In cases where a lawyer works on contingency, their fee is usually a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or damages awarded if the case is successful.

Be sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your consultation to ensure that you understand the fees associated with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Government Lawyer

When hiring a government lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed for your specific situation. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What is your experience with government law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has substantial experience in handling cases or issues involving government agencies, regulatory compliance, or constitutional law.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services - whether by the hour, flat fee, retainer, or contingency fee - and request an estimate of costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your legal options and the likelihood of success based on your specific situation.
  4. How do you handle interactions with government agencies?
Ask about their approach to dealing with government entities and their experience with specific agencies relevant to your case (e.g., IRS, EPA, SEC).
  5. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Ask about their experience with similar cases and whether they have achieved favorable outcomes in the past.
  6. Who will handle my case?
Clarify whether the lawyer you are meeting with will personally handle your case or whether junior attorneys or paralegals will do most of the work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Government Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable government lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and reputation:

  • Check state bar association records: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice in your state and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Review their professional experience: Look for specific experience in government-related legal issues, such as regulatory compliance, government contracts, or administrative law, on their website or professional profile.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check online reviews and ratings on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to get insight into the lawyer’s reputation and track record.
  • Ask for references: Request references from previous clients who have worked with the lawyer on government-related matters to understand their experience and effectiveness.
  • Check for membership in relevant organizations: Look for memberships in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association's Administrative Law Section or the National Institute of Government Procurement, which can indicate the lawyer’s focus on government law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a government lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed description of your legal issue: Be prepared to explain your situation, whether it’s a regulatory compliance question, a government contract issue, or a dispute with a government agency.
  • Relevant documents: Bring any paperwork related to your case, such as contracts, permits, letters from government agencies, or notices of investigation.
  • A list of questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, including the legal process, potential outcomes, and costs.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any relevant events, such as the issuance of government orders or interactions with government agencies.
  • Goals for the outcome: Be ready to discuss what you hope to achieve, whether it’s a favorable settlement, regulatory compliance, or overturning a government decision.

By being organized and prepared, you can help your lawyer understand your situation more quickly and give you the best legal advice moving forward.
