I have reached out to Eric regarding a tricky situation. It is very difficult to find an attorney who is specialized in immigration along with other specialties. Once we had our first call, got the sense that he is very knowledgeable and to the point in communication. He explained clearly to me and my wife, the options, consequences, the cost and the trade- offs. He has this 'face of confidence' in his communication that one can be assured of or get that feeling of 'being in good hands'. His reputation precedes him, he is well known among attorneys and at the court. When you are looking for attorneys in his specialties, he is one attorney you can count on! We are very happy with the way he handled our situation/case and very happy with the outcome as well. Will definitely be in touch and approach him for our future Immigration assistance!

In 2017 i was put in removal proceeding, at that moment i felt overwhelm .. i went to talked with Mr York..he took my COMPLICATED case.. he explained to me what route we are i going to take while we are fighting deportation..i left the office relieve And calm.. first thougt was he is the one… and i wasnt wrong…! he delegate my case to Ms Lauren .. she prepare the case .. she apply for a extreme hardship waiver while i was having my hearings in court. They told me from the begining it was going to be hard to get approval but they feel confident on how they prepare the case… all the sudden in 2019 USCIS approved my Waiver and grant me my Green Card.. my deportation case was close a month later.. few months later i did apply for Citizenship, now i can say that i am proud US Citizen.. thanks to Mr York for take my case and a special Thank to Ms Lauren for everything else…! They are the best in NJ and USA… ! Also thanks to them my wife just received her Green Card… few days ago.! Dont hesitate on talk to them… just do it..!

Husain Gatlin is probably one of the best attorneys I have ever retained and I can’t thank him enough for being so hands on with our case. He did everything he said he was going to do and he is well worth every cent you spend!! As I have told Husain previously, I admire him and I don’t like lawyers! 🤣 I think that explains it all!! Thank you 😎

I paid Husain A. Gatlin $2,500 to represent me in a simple civil dispute. From the beginning, he was difficult to get a hold of, and even though I only reached out with legitimate questions, Gatlin only communicated through a document uploading website, through which it took several days to get a response. Communication got so bad with Gatlin that another lawyer of mine attempted to contact him regarding vital matters- he and I still got no response for weeks. Gatlin made it clear to me -by actually telling me- that he was tired of this case and had no interest in continuing it. It was such a relatively minor case (albeit very important to me) that he simply lost interest when it started taking just a little longer than expected to reach a resolution. WORSE OF ALL, I didn’t find out until trial commenced (with a new lawyer) that a major point of contention between the other party and me was caused by Gatlin’s carelessness. Part of my countersuit against the other party was for trespassing. It didn’t come out until the trial, when opposing counsel brought it to my attention while I was on the witness stand, that unbeknownst to me, Gatlin had given the go-ahead to the other party to enter my property WITHOUT CONSULTING ME, OR EVEN TELLING ME AFTER HE DID IT. Police were called, charges were filed, trial took place, all because Gatlin, knowing I would never allow the trespass FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN, took it upon himself to let the other party enter my property without even telling me he’d done it. As a trial date approached, when he should have been the most interactive, Gatlin completely fell off the face of the planet. Neither I nor my other attorney could reach him at all. Weeks later, I fired him and hired another attorney. Since Gatlin did nothing the entire ten months he “represented” me (other than wear his pretty little bow ties), I filed for fee arbitration to recoup at least a portion of the $2,500 I paid. During the fee arbitration hearing, he blatantly lied several times, and when I proved he was lying, he resorted to insults. If your case isn’t as sexy and exciting as a murder, this is the kind of service you can expect from Husain A. Gatlin. ---------UPDATE, IN RESPONSE TO COMPANY'S COMMENT------------ The panel's questionable decision aside, there's no denying the fact that your carelessness put my children in danger and caused unnecessary litigation. And it's no coincidence that other negative reviews of you have common denominators- your carelessness, quickness to lose interest in cases you're paid to see through to the end, and petulant refusal to communicate with clients.

I was on deportation proceedings when a friend referred me to attorney Lawrence k Le Roy of the Tesoroni & Le Roy immigration law firm. Mr Le Roy demonstrated an exceptional understanding of the law and was incredibly thorough in explaining every step of the process. What impressed me the most of their(the firm) responsiveness. No matter how trivial my questions might have seemed, Mr Le Roy was always prompt in providing answers and guidance. This level of customer service made a potentially overwhelming experience much more manageable. Fast forward, my court date arrived and Mr Le Roy was there and on time with me. His support was exceptional. His friendly demeanor throughout the entire journey felt reassuring to have someone so dedicated on my side. I can not thank him enough. My case was waived. If you’re in need of an immigration lawyer, look no further than Mr Lawrence K Leroy. I highly recommend him!

Mr. Le Roy is knowledgeable and dedicated to helping his clients. With twenty years of history, there was a lot to unpack to get our case right. Through his diligence and vast knowledge of immigration law, he was able to determine the key enablers that led to the approval for adjustment of status. This helped us feel confident as we went through the I-485 process. With every step that unfolded, Mr. Le Roy made every effort to remove barriers and advocate for us. He is easy to communicate with and follows through on his commitments. I am so grateful for Mr. Le Roy and all that he did to help us reach this family milestone. Thank you, Mr. Le Roy!

Attorney Bryan Perez the best attorney I have ever met,Not just an attorney but is individual as well Great personality very easy to communicate he’ll listen to you . As for my case I can write a book and it would not be enough for me to explain it. I have hired Number of attorneys most of them if not all of them Looked at me like an ATM machine I have spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars for over 24 years I started seeing Mr. Perez about five years ago for almost 3 1/2 years I saw him every six months, During that time he didn’t feel That my case was strong enough And during that time I was very convinced mr. Perez was the right attorney . As he didn’t see me as an ATM machine to charge me like all the rest of them did with all the lies and excuses this that trust me I went through some really hard times but at the end I’m glad that I hired Mr. Perez I am so so lucky that I was referred to him . Finally about two years ago he saw opertunity a chance for me and asked me what I think .knowing him for the past few years I trusted his judgment with all my heart and it turned out to be one of the best experiences in my life time being in this country for over 24 years without any papers no driver license Not able to go anywhere not able to see your family for number of years To me this is priceless I would have given anything ,But mr. Perez told me this are my fees and there is nothing extra you need to pay simple as that . So I highly recommend Perez Perez and Perez immigration attorneys office. To me there are no words or nothing I can do to thank him enough so from the bottom of my heart I wish him and his family blessings of a life time .

I consulted Mr. Pollack regarding an immigration issue concerning a relative. He was fast in determining the pros and cons of the case. He shared his opinion based on his experience, and I could tell he had great knowledge of the law. He did not try to convince me to do something through his office. Instead, he advised me that the best way to do it was on my own. I appreciated his honesty. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Pollack to anyone with any immigration matter.

Before I found Mr. Polak my case was upside down, I didn’t know what else to do because my previous lawyer had told me I couldn’t travel or had to wait a long time to fix my issue, after a first visiting with him he told me all my rights and from there I was able to travel, and keep my status legally presentable till finally I had my victory which I am very thankful for work and dedication.

I have known Kathleen Peregoy for more than 20 years. She brilliantly and succesfully guided me through the complicated and nerve-wracking multi-year process from student work visa to Permanent Resident, and then recently to U.S. citizenship! She and Neil Dornbaum were miracle workers on my case (National Interest Waiver for the green card), exceptionally knowledgeable on all matters, patient, calming and exceedingly professional every step of the way. I can't say enough, and there's no one else I would recommend for immigration services.

Regis Fernandez cares about clients. My wife’s immigration status was complicated. The first attorney we hired did little more than take our money. Upon first visiting Mr. Fernandez, we new we would be treated with care and attention paid to our plight. He did more for us in five minutes than prior attorney did in five years. This attorney knows how to win!

I had 3.92 GPA and 169 LSAT score!! These people put me on the "waiting list" and finally rejected 1 day before the start of the school year. Honestly, this is truly beyond ridiculous!! I had several offers fron T14 schools in the meantime that gave me an offer of admission right away!! But, I was truly curious how low the admission people be in this place and when they finally come to send a reply. Well my suggestion, don't waste your time with this place!!

Did nothing for me, just took my $10k. She knew that I had no chance with my charge but insisted on telling me that I did. She said absolutely NOTHING to the judge in court to defend me. I would not recommend Lauren to anyone unless you wanna get robbed!

I would like to thank Lauren Anselowitz very much for all the help that I received in my immigration case from the time when I obtained my green card to the time of my naturalization interview. On July 7th, 2020 I have finally been sworn in to become The United States citizen. I am very grateful for Lauren Anselowitz assistance during my both interviews. I am very happy Lauren Anselowitz was my attorney. The positive experience will stay a lifetime.

What an Immigration Lawyer Can Do for You

An immigration lawyer specializes in helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate the complex immigration process. These lawyers provide legal guidance on various immigration matters, such as obtaining visas, gaining permanent residency (green cards), applying for citizenship, and defending clients in deportation or removal proceedings. Immigration lawyers also assist with employment-based immigration, asylum applications, and resolving issues related to visas or immigration status.

Whether you're trying to immigrate to the U.S., facing deportation, or sponsoring an employee or family member for a visa, an immigration lawyer can help you understand your legal options and navigate the often complicated legal system.

When Should I Hire an Immigration Lawyer?

Hiring an immigration lawyer is beneficial in many situations where you are dealing with U.S. immigration laws, whether for personal or business reasons. Common reasons to hire an immigration lawyer include:

  • Visa applications: If you need assistance applying for a visa, whether it's a work visa (H-1B), student visa (F-1), or tourist visa (B-1/B-2), a lawyer can help ensure the application is properly completed and submitted.
  • Green card applications: If you're seeking permanent residency, an immigration lawyer can guide you through the process, whether through family sponsorship, employment, or the Diversity Visa (lottery) program.
  • Deportation or removal defense: If you’re facing deportation or removal from the U.S., a lawyer can defend your case in immigration court and seek to prevent removal.
  • Asylum applications: If you’re seeking asylum due to persecution or fear of persecution in your home country, a lawyer can help you prepare a strong case and file for asylum.
  • Family reunification: If you're a U.S. citizen or permanent resident looking to bring family members to the U.S., a lawyer can assist with the family sponsorship process.
  • Citizenship and naturalization: If you're ready to apply for U.S. citizenship, a lawyer can help you navigate the naturalization process and ensure you meet all the requirements.
  • Business immigration: If you're an employer seeking to hire foreign workers, a lawyer can assist with employment-based visas, labor certification, and compliance with immigration regulations.
  • Special immigration categories: Immigration lawyers also handle complex cases, such as visas for victims of human trafficking (T visa), crime victims (U visa), or those seeking Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Hiring an immigration lawyer early in the process can help you avoid delays, errors, and possible denials due to incomplete or incorrect applications.

What Does an Immigration Lawyer Do?

An immigration lawyer provides a wide range of services to help clients with their immigration needs, whether personal or business-related. Their tasks often include:

  • Assisting with visa applications: Helping clients fill out and submit visa applications, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Filing for green cards and permanent residency: Guiding clients through the process of applying for a green card, including family-based, employment-based, or other forms of residency.
  • Defending against deportation or removal: Representing clients in immigration court who are facing deportation and working to prevent removal from the U.S.
  • Preparing asylum cases: Assisting clients in applying for asylum based on fear of persecution in their home country due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
  • Handling citizenship applications: Helping lawful permanent residents apply for naturalization and ensuring they meet all the legal requirements for U.S. citizenship.
  • Employment-based immigration: Assisting employers with the process of sponsoring foreign workers for temporary or permanent visas, including H-1B, L-1, and EB-1 through EB-5 visas.
  • Representation in immigration interviews: Preparing clients for immigration interviews and attending interviews at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offices.
  • Appealing denied applications: If a visa, green card, or citizenship application is denied, a lawyer can file appeals or motions to reopen or reconsider the case.

How Are Immigration Lawyers Paid?

Immigration lawyers generally charge for their services based on the type of immigration case and the complexity of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Flat fee: Many immigration lawyers charge a flat fee for specific services, such as preparing a visa application, green card petition, or citizenship application. Flat fees help clients know upfront what the legal costs will be for a particular service.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex cases, such as deportation defense or appeals, some lawyers charge by the hour. Hourly rates vary depending on the lawyer's experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Retainer: For ongoing immigration matters, some clients may need to pay a retainer, which is an upfront payment billed against as the lawyer works on the case.
  • Pro bono or sliding scale: Some immigration lawyers or nonprofit organizations may offer free or low-cost services for clients with limited financial means, particularly in asylum or humanitarian cases.

It’s essential to discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the costs and payment arrangements.

How Much Does an Immigration Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring an immigration lawyer varies based on the type of legal service required, the lawyer's experience, and the complexity of the case. General cost estimates include:

  • Visa applications: For help with visa applications (e.g., H-1B, L-1, F-1), legal fees may range from $2,000 to $7,500, depending on the complexity and the type of visa.
  • Green card applications: Fees for family-based or employment-based green card applications typically range from $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the case.
  • Deportation defense: For defending clients in removal proceedings, costs can range from $5,000 to $15,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the case and how long the case takes.
  • Asylum cases: Asylum applications may range from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on whether the case is defensive (in removal proceedings) or affirmative (not in removal proceedings).
  • Citizenship applications: Legal fees for filing a naturalization application usually range from $1,500 to $5,000, depending on the complexity of the client’s immigration history.
  • Business immigration services: Fees for assisting businesses with employment-based visas (such as H-1B or EB-5 visas) often range from $3,000 to $10,000 or more.

Always ask for a clear breakdown of costs and fee arrangements before proceeding with legal services.

Top Questions to Ask an Immigration Lawyer

Before hiring an immigration lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure they have the experience and expertise to handle your case effectively. Important questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with immigration cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has experience handling cases similar to yours, whether it’s family-based immigration, employment visas, or asylum.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a flat fee, hourly rate, or retainer, and ask for a detailed estimate of the total cost.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case and the potential outcomes, including any challenges you might face.
  4. How long will the process take?
Immigration cases can take time, so ask how long it may take to process your application or resolve your legal issue.
  5. Will you handle my case personally?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle parts of your case. Make sure you know who will be working on your case directly.
  6. What documents do I need to provide?
Ask the lawyer about the documentation required to support your case, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, or employment contracts.

How to Check the Credibility of an Immigration Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable immigration lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and track record:

  • Check their state bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed to practice and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for specific immigration law experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in immigration law and have experience handling cases like yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their ability to handle immigration cases.
  • Check for industry affiliations: Membership in organizations like the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) can indicate the lawyer’s expertise and commitment to immigration law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with an immigration lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Passport and immigration documents: Bring your passport, visa, and any documents related to your current immigration status.
  • Family documents: If you're applying for a family-based visa or green card, bring marriage certificates, birth certificates, and proof of family relationships.
  • Employment information: For employment-based visas, provide your employment contract, offer letter, or other documentation of your job.
  • Criminal records (if applicable): If you have any criminal history, bring copies of court records and other relevant documents.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any prior immigration applications, visas, or issues with immigration authorities.
  • List of questions: Prepare any questions you have about your immigration case, the process, costs, and the likelihood of success.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can help the lawyer understand your case more effectively and get the best possible legal advice on how to proceed.
