Carlos won our case for us when we were pushed out of our home by our landlord in San Francisco. A rent controlled home that I resided in for over 10 years starting in 2004. He didn't give up on us in a battle of a very big SF real estate company versus an individual family and and in the end we came out on top. He is very professional and a very kind person. I have been a corporate lawyer for 26 years. When I was injured in 2017, I suddenly found myself on the other side of the aisle: I needed a lawyer. I did research, spoke with colleagues, and interviewed several attorneys. From our very first conversation, I found Daniel to be very straightforward and honest -- two highly unusual characteristics for lawyers. What most impressed me, however, was Daniel's responsiveness. Each time I called, Daniel personally answered the telephone (it's far more common for lawyers to use their staff to sift through possible clients). Each time Daniel promised to write me or contact me, he always did just as he promised. Even more surprising to me, Daniel would contact me with important information even when I wasn't expecting it. I had been turned down by other lawyers; told my Case was going to fail, “based on years of experience.” I kept looking and then I told Scott my story. He believed in my case and her believed in me. Words cannot express how truly grateful I am because of Mr. Scott Kalkin. Unfortunately I had multiple upper extremity surgeries in 2012 which left me disabled and unable to work. I had to utilize my long term disability policy from my employer that I paid for since 2000. I did not understand at the time that I purchased an Erisa plan which is a very complex and difficult to understand policy. My doctors were wonderful at documenting my condition and filling out mounds of paperwork that advised my long term carrier that I was clearly disabled and unable to work. Unfortunately this did not matter to my long term carrier. I was advised by my carrier in 2013 that I was no longer eligible for my much needed medical benefits due to the Erisa laws and I would be receiving a letter with an explanation on how to appeal in the mail soon. Needless to say, I felt defeated and exhausted. I did extensive research on long term disability attorneys and decided to call Mr. Scott Kalkin at Roboostoff and Kalkin. Not only was Mr. Scott Kalkin kind and understanding but he took the time to explain the complexities of having a long term policy governed by Erisa. Mr. Scott Kalkin is extremely knowledgeable and is an expert on all of the complexities of long term disability policies. I’m happy to say that after hiring Mr. Scott Kalkin in 2013, he contacted my long term and to this day, which is now 2019, I am still receiving the much needed benefits that I deserve. He removed the burden and frustrations of having to personally deal with my long term carrier. It is so refreshing to have a wonderful attorney like Mr. Scott Kalkin on my side and working with my long term disability carrier to ensure that I am being treated fairly and at the same time allow me the much needed time to heal from my injuries, which is a blessing. Mr. Coleman is an extremely intelligent attorney with many years of experience dealing with Professional Disability. His expertise in the field secured my claim once I became disabled from continuing practice in Anesthesiology and needed to activate my profession specific disability policy. The Insurance Company made many erroneous attempts to disqualify my policy, but Mr. Coleman was very adept at defending me and deflecting their excuses not to pay. I would recommend him to any professional who finds themselves in the situation where they need to interact with their Insurance Company concerning payment of their policy and maintaining the integrity of the policy agreement. We had a complex real estate case. The law firm we hired initially had four attorneys work on our case in turns for over a year and made little progress.
