I don’t normally give reviews, but Justin Schnitzer, Esq, deserves every good review I should have given through the years. I would have been lost without him.
I called a lot of lawyers that specialized in government employment. Justin was the only one that seemed to truly care about me and my situation. He responded quickly when I had questions and did an excellent job responding to the accusations against me.

First off let me say if you are looking for an attorney you have found him!
I’ve hired many attorneys in Maryland of the years and NOT ONE can compare to Ian Valkenet. He is honest, straight forward, and the most educated attorney in his field we’ve ever spoken to. Which was over a dozen for this particular case. Most of them even told my husband and I that there was nothing we could do that we were in the wrong. Deep down we knew that couldn’t possible be true. After speaking with Ian it was confirmed. There was something we could do. A lot actually and Ian was knocking them out like Muhammad Ali in the ring.
You don’t get that a lot anymore with attorneys. They tell you things and don’t follow through . Not Ian! If he says he’s doing something it’s done. This man knew our rights and was honest with us. We have been in a lawsuit since Feb 2023. From the day we met Ian for a consultation we knew that this man was who we needed. He knew the law in every aspect you can imagine. It was incredible we were actually looking forward to seeing him in trial. For pure satisfaction of seeing the defendants faces. 😂 This man won without having a trial which saved us money but it would’ve been epic to watch him in this case. Sometimes you're lucky. When New York State extended the Statutte of Limitations for child sexual abuse, I had no idea how to choose a law firm for representation. I had been sexually abused from the age of 10 to the age of 15 and never thought the day would come when there would be an opportunity for legal proceedings against the responsible establishment. I launched an Internet search and was immediately introduced to Janet, Janet & Suggs. At first that didn't seem like a good choice as the abuse took place in Western New York, I live in Portland, Maine and the law firm is in Baltimore, Maryland. "Worry not," I soon discovered. The courts are not known to be expeditious and the entire ordeal took a long time. So it was a welcome quality that the legal team at JJ&S kept me abreast of various levels of progress. Amazing services! From my experience he went out of his way to get things handled and as quickly as possible. A weekend trip out of town turned into a two month stay In central booking with no bail and considered a flight risk. By our second court date I was on my way home! This man got up and educated the judge and the da on the law to the point they had to go over it in court, and realized at that point they no longer had a case due to an error on their side. When my case was dismissed and charges dropped the DA was not happy and said they would still be pursuing other route’s. When I made it back home the Da had already reopened new charges. I was states and states away and he put it to rest yet again. I was never charged everything was dismissed. He is definitely someone you want in your corner during a tough situation.

In life we never really expect to need an attorney. When/ if that time comes like most people I was scared of what to expect, the trustworthiness, the knowledge of my specific case, how long would this take.. All of my questions were answered, and answered timely. I never felt like I was "bothering him" Nick took time to understand my point of view, understand the case, he remembered facts. Yes part of this was "his Job" but above and beyond his job was the kind tone I heard on the other end of the phone each time I called, the rapid response of answering emails . The time he took to explain the details of my case to me. Law is not my area of expertise. I was confused and uneducated at times during this process, he made sure I understood each step of the way. He let me decide how to proceed with his guidance. He explained the benefit of each possible out come of my case. I never felt forced to make a decision to get my case over with. Each time a document that we were waiting on came in, I knew it arrived. When struggles arose in the case I was made aware of that as well. When appointments were needed, example a doctor appointment, I knew why it was needed and what to expect while there.
