From the first phone call to the last detail, Tray Payne and his team were first class. Very informative and reassuring. Every detail and option was carefully discussed and re-discussed if needed. The communication was always timely and helpful. Everything Tray said he would accomplish, he accomplished. I can say without hesitance that I highly recommend Tray and his associates. Mr. Harris is very knowledgeable about the cases in his field and his paralegals are top-notch. I have never had a problem when contacting Mr. Harris’s law firm and getting what I need to know we’re getting things done. Tina did an excellent job of taking care of my legal needs. I required some legal assistance in a fairly short time frame and she and her office staff did an outstanding job working me in and accommodating my timeframe. You couldn’t find a more professional pleasant office to take care of your legal needs!

If you are reading the reviews, more than likely you are wanting to know how good they are. Christina was court appointed to represent me in my cps case so I did the same and looked at these same reviews and did my own research. My experience with Christina at first, I felt like I was just another case and she didn't have time to hear me. Of course my world was turning upside down as I was all over the place, and told her all the details even the ones that didn't seem to matter to anyone but me. And it may seem like that but I realized that Christina is a Beast at what she does which makes her busy. If you feel like she doesn't hear you , she does but it might just be best to write her an email with all those points you want made and I promise she will read it and pick out the ones that really matter not to just your case but you as well. She is like that honest aunt you know you can count on lol. Ps. TO CHRISTINA , EVER SINCE I HAD TO MEMORIZE "INVICTUS" FOR 8TH GRADE ENGLISH, IT HAS BEEN MY #1 FAV. WE REALLY ARE THE MASTERS OF OUR FATE BUT WHEN I WAS UNSURE OF MINE, I WAS ABLE TO STAY ON COURSE WITH MY BOYS BC OF YOU AND YOUR TEAM!! WITH THE UTMOST GRATITUDE, THANK YOU ALL... Sandra, J & M

Our organization uses Zach regularly for various matters. We have worked with Zach for about eight years on an ongoing basis. Although most of our issues involve administrative law, Zach has also worked for us on other more general business issues. Zach is very versatile, capable, and honest. I would highly recommend anyone needing council to visit with him. You can be sure he will give you an accurate assessment of his abilities regarding your issues.

Ms. Hill was referred to me by a friend who is a local attorney that was unable to take our case. From the beginning, Ms. Hill was honest with us about our options and expectations. We brought our concerns to her and she listened and truly understood what we desired. I can only imagine the time she spent reading over all of our contracts and case law because she always seemed to be one step ahead of where we needed to be, even giving us a plan B and plan C in case the defendants in our case didn't respond in the correct manner. She was persistent and knowledgeable in every angle of our case. We finally reached an agreement with the second and final defendant in our case today without having to go through a lengthy and expensive arbitration. I would highly recommend Ms. Hill. She is such a talented young lawyer with a bright future.

I am beyond impressed and fortunate to have come across Sanders Law Firm on Google. Ron is truly one-of-a-kind. He has provided my boyfriend and me with more advice than anyone else we spoke to regarding a child custody issue. Remarkably, Ron was the only lawyer who answered over 20 calls I made during a holiday weekend for an emergency. Ron is thorough, concise, and very understanding. He offered a plethora of resources to help get us started in the right direction. I am confident that hiring Ron or his daughter for your case will significantly increase your chances of winning. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Ron. His great advice, willingness to help, and consistent follow-up make you feel like your case is his top priority. He is exceptionally dedicated, and I highly recommend Sanders Law Firm.

When you usually call a business and they do not answer and you hang up, they won’t callback unless you leave a voicemail. But Mr. Sanders did. He called me back and QUICK. He thoughtfully listened to my problem and gave me amazing FREE legal advice. The respect he gave me as a client was amazing to me. Definitely recommend him if you are in a situation where you would need legal help of knowing what to do about a field of situation you know nothing about.

At one of the most difficult times in our lives, we thought all of our hard work might be ripped away. Thomason explained the contracts, and our rights very clearly and fought for what our family had earned through years of hard work. He's not afraid of a fight, and he doesn't ask for more than he deserves. I very much recommend him. If you are in need of an Business Attourney, you will not find any better in our opinion.

Thomason helped us through an extremely difficult time. He went to bat for my son in what was a substantial and overwhelming (for us) situation. The outcome was the best we could have hoped for in a very serious situation. Throughout, Thomason showed great integrity and compassion and we knew we had a very capable advocate on our side. We feel grateful and very blessed to have had Thomason as our lawyer and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a lawyer with the utmost level of integrity!

I had Sara Moore as my attorney and she was a badass. She was on everything from day one for my divorce. So when I needed to do a modification for custody of my kids, I went back to her. Unfortunately, she retired before we could get to cost and have my case over to Solorzano. I had no problem since I thought since Sara trusted him with her case load, I should too. Big mistake. I won't get into everything that this law firm stopped the ball on, which there was several, he never fought hard to get me any type of hearing for my case. I never knew what was going on, and every time I had a meeting with him I had to refresh him on the case. I'm not a lawyer but the case was strong in my favor, and because he allowed it to go stagnant I am now at the point where I'm just hoping to get any kind of hearing so I can go ahead and appeal and change jurisdiction.

I called and spoke to Mr. Solorzano about an issue i had and he explained to me to start the process he needed 3k down i agreed. He said he needed a couple days to do a contract i agreed. 1 week passed no call from Mr. Solorzano. I called and I would leave voice-mails no call back. I called after 2 weeks again and I was told I needed 5k down per Mr Solorzano i declined. They can't even answer the phone or call back why would I agree to more money plus there customer service is terrible. Do your research before hiring this man.

I used Brandon Callahan for a matter involving a company using my credit for a sizeable loan without my knowledge. Brandon was nothing short of awesome! He put me at ease during the year long process to get the matter corrected. He was knowledgeable, professional and prompt with responses in keeping me updated on the case. I would recommend him time and time again! Thanks Brandon!

I wouldn’t go to her. She hates men deeply and her judgement is clouded with her own hate for men and she takes it out on your soon-to-be ex husband. This means she doesn’t put your interests before her own. This will cost you and your children. Money out of your hands is money out of their mouths. I paid for a Post Nuptial and she never provided it to me or return my calls because I stayed with my husband when he went on hospice. Without the Post Nuptial, I lost everything. She also said Russell Dave’s played “fast and loose” and couldn’t be trusted. It turns out that Russell Dave’s was the best attorney we ever hired. He represented us in many matters and even gave us his personal cell phone and stayed in contact with us when he was on a cruise to Alaska. He saved us a house and an unlawful Lis Pendence (sp?) placed in one of our houses by a shady Lubbock law firm. We even kept Mr Daves when we moved to San Antonio. Too bad he is retired. He practiced law, not politics. Dannie Botros is good and tough, but truly doesn’t put clients first, in my strong opinion. Evidently her ex husband did her wrong. You’ll pay to hear that bitter story, too.

I hired Hilary Hale to represent me in a civil lawsuit against me. I spoke with her on a Thursday (2/27) for our initial consultation she stated that she had a pressing case but that she would be in contact with me the following week (3/3). On 3/2 my previous attorney reached out to say that there was a hearing that took place without notice to my new legal council and as such I needed to talk with Hilary about this. At that time I reached out to opposing council and explained their error (lack of notification for one) and I'll admit that I wasn't civil about it. Then later that same week (again with no word from Hilary) another attorney emailed me a copy of legal brief and stated that he represented a 3rd party in the case. When I pressed him for more information he refused to answer any questions (my question was asking if he could explain the brief he filed in non legal terms) because I was represented by Ms. Hale. This confused me because I was paying for him to represent this 3rd party without my knowledge or consent. When I finally reached out to Ms. Hale on 3/6 asking for the update I was promised on 3/3, she stated she was in a CLE class and that we would be in touch the following week. She also asked me to stop contacting both opposing attorneys (on 3/6) which I did. The following week I again heard nothing until 3/10 when she emailed me a letter terminating our agreement and she cited my previous contact with opposing council and she stated that I continued to contact them after her asking me not to do so - which is false. When I explained that I hadn't reached out to anyone since her email reply to me on 3/6, along with proof from my sent folder, I got no reply and now I'm forced to seek new and competent council. So not only did she not keep her word about reviewing the case and getting back to me in a timely matter, she also went radio silent except to say she could no longer represent me despite me showing her I honored her request. Personally, I would use caution before considering hiring them for other legal matters in the future.

What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
