With my in-laws passing away within a month of each other, there was no way the family was going to save their house. Michelle stepped in and helped us through a strained foreclosure process (Covid-19 for two years, squatters, etc.). She did a terrific job not only helping us but keeping us informed. It was a real pleasure working with her. I would highly recommend her.

I lost my house, due to an odd probate situation. Attorney Miller listened to my story, then set about finding a way to recoup a portion of what I'd invested in the home that was taken from me. It wasn't an easy case; the other side had all the money and power. Attorney Miller stands for what is fair and just, though. He researched his fingers to the bone, assimilated all information I provided, and then stood up for me in a confident, and competent, manner. WE WON! Because of his work, knowledge, and congenial attitude, a settlement has been made in my favor. I am so grateful for the opportunity to begin to rebuild a life that had been previously shattered to pieces. Attorney Miller is a workhorse, but if you're lucky, you might get a smidgen of humor out of him (always welcome during trying times). He's not simply a stellar attorney; he's a stellar human being, as well. He's ethical, honest, trustworthy, and kind. You'll do well to retain his services. Mr. Miller does NOT fit the often negative stereotype of those in his profession. This guy is a gem!

Attorney Clifford M. Miller represented me in complicated Insurance Case. He was extremely knowledgeable and respectful. He handled correspondence, telephone calls and setup meetings for claims against Insurance Carrier. He coordinated and recorded my statement to insurance adjuster and subsequent “Examination Under Oath” statement requested by Attorney for Insurance Carrier. Mr. Miller expertly uploaded, organized and labeled all hardcopy history of case in soft copy PDF format. Including floor plan layout drawings, pictures of crime scene and correspondence from previous criminal portion of case. Attorney Miller's knowledge, commitment, communication skills and guidance to me as a client got me through this difficult Insurance Case. Insurance Carrier was unable to deny claim. I highly recommend Attorney Clifford M. Miller who remains my representative of choice.

Cliff was recommended to me by another attorney as one of the top litigation attorneys in my area. We went up against a large insurance company! I feared the case to be a never ending battle. From my first meeting with Cliff, I felt we had the upper hand. Thanks to Cliff, the outcome was very reasonable for me. The defendant and insurance company...not so much! :-)

I have had the pleasure of working with Aaron through several difficult times in my life. From a car accident to a home foreclosure/bankruptcy and he has been the nothing short of incredible. He is not only informative and responsive; he is who you want sitting beside you in the courtroom. I have never felt more at ease. I knew he had my best interests at heart and I knew we would win. He is well respected throughout the state and has an excellent rapport with the judges as well as the other attorneys. Aaron goes above and beyond and truly walks you through each step of a case. He always makes time for each one of his clients and I never felt stupid asking questions. He is a force to be reckoned with on the courtroom floor and while I hope I never require his services again, I am certainly grateful that I know where to find him if I do.

Going into a legal dispute is emotionally and physically exhausting. This was the case when my sister suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s was not receiving emotional, physical or monetary support from her husband. Finding an attorney that you can trust is a challenge in this day and age when so many have left their moral compass at the door. This is not the case with Aaron Johnson whom throughout a year+ long battle remained compassionate and understanding of the situation. He walked us through and explained everything that was being done. This was a complicated case and Aaron maintained a professionalism while holding to his own moral compass. Tina, his paralegal, was not only a tremendous comfort to us but also extremely experienced in varying aspects of law. We now consider them both friends and are very happy with the outcome.

Always there to answer my million and one questions and very treated me like I was bothering them! I would recommend Aaron a million times over. He does right by his clients and makes things happen. Thank you Aaron and Tina!

Just Moved to Vero reviews multiple Law Groups and Attorneys and Block and Scarpa are the complete package. Moving forward I will make them my first choice for all my legal needs. They go the extra mile from day 1 with impeccable followup and first in class knowledge. I had the privilege of being assigned to Mr Kissner for initial consultation, He is extremely sharp, explains things like your favorite professor, his emotional intelligence with his analytical skills is at the core of what makes people great and companies first in class. Mr Kissner would be my number 1 draft pick if I was starting a law company. And will always be my number 1 pick moving forward.

The work of his staff was most impressive , no aspect was overlooked or completed in less than perfect detail. He and the staff were always most responsive to any question or concern I raised.

Out of respect for Mr Murphy we first asked if it was OK to review him? "Wil" was somewhat skeptical of forums like these because of the possibility of misrepresentation and I agree with him. The flip side of this however is no reviews and that doesn't help the desperate future client either.... be assured that I am not a brother-in-law. On the other hand, peer to peer reviews could be perceived as a chance for mutually beneficial nepotism. Nuff said there. I first heard of Wil thru a neighbors case 7-8 years ago. These neighbors were known to be exceptionally fastidious in everything they did ... naturally one would assume this would include vetting a lawyer. They picked the right guy too as Mr. Murphy dismantled the opposing lawyer in court ... needless to say he won the case for them. I mentally filed that info away for the day I need legal help. When that day came we quickly found that Wil sorts thru the emotions to find the pertinent facts, then gives you a couple possible avenues that the case might travel. The efficiency of his manner displays his experience. Incidentally our case was a possible fraud against us fueled by greed and nothing else. In the end we didn't get to see the silver tongued Mr Murphy tear apart another foe but we did get a settlement. The thinking behind this rapid settlement was that the fraudster and their lawyer could see they were "out lawyered". Sorry for wordy review.

We had a partner in our agency that wanted to sell their shares back to the company and receive a lump sum compensation for their investment. Rollins thoroughly reviewed our needs, ensured there were no gaps for miscommunication and drafted our necessary documents with 2 days despite a large workload after coming back from an overseas business trip. We were thoroughly impressed with his technical knowledge, legal abilities and client access. He will be the only attorney we utlize for future business dealings.

I cant say enough about the knowledge and expertise I experiened with Conforti and Hennig. Originally from a different state, Attny. Pam Hennig educated us on FL law. She put our affairs in order and I left feeling very confident that our assets are protected and our end of life decisions are well planned for. She understood what I was looking for in planning our estate. As difficult as it is talking about sensitive issues, Attny. Hennig made me feel very comfortable doing so and it is a relief that this was all done effortlessly. Thank you Pam for your kindness and expertise.

What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
