I unfortunately have some experience in and around a court room. I have hired quite the collection of lawyers from several regions and districts throughout the state of Virginia as well as two in Florida. I am doing a rough estimate here, if I had to say what I spent in attorney fees over a forty year period it would land north of 85k. Now out of that 85 k. I’d consider that I got value for my money, say roughly about 35-maybe 40k worth. That would translate to three to seven lawyers that I felt actually earned the payment. That they actually did the work, fought for my well being, got me the absolute best they could ! Out of the”seven” good attorneys that I have hired, I can not include Mr. Brian Latuga into that alumni class. There is good reasons for this !
Brain Latuga has fought harder for me than any litigator I have ever seen, retained, spoke too, or has assisted my family and I in any manner. Mr. Latuga is in a class of his own. Beyond being a wonderful, dedicated family man. A great and honest man, he is a caring and compassionate man who will look deep into who you are, who you used to be, who you want to become, and most importantly what the hell has happened that brought your life to a screeching holt ! What circumstance led to your incarceration, or hardship that is being imposed by an infraction of today’s justice system. Brian will look through every aspect of the case and he knows how to work within and around the courthouse. He has more knowledge of the law than all of the attorneys I have hired in my life combined, and his work ethic is incredible. I don’t want to reveal personal details that pertain to my situation directly but Mr. Latuga has gone above and beyond for me and my family. He would return my wife’s regular weekly freak out calls during my incarceration. Always straight forward, he would never give us false hope or blow smoke to get us to stop bugging him or bombarding his email server. He would respond to us in 24 -36 hours regardless if it was a holiday or the third time that week we had a panic attack or freak out. He went well above the standard client visitation commitment that are outlined in his retainer contract. He has truly looked out for my best interest and has been by my side fighting and fighting and fighting to see me through the hardest and scariest time of my life. I could not imagine how I could have gotten through this without him nor would I have made it this far without him!! Brian Latuga is the BEST attorney in this city, district, state, and he is an amazing human being who truly cares and fights for you and your family!!!! He should be your first, last , and only attorney option if you are facing a fight, this man is who you want in the ring with you !

Adam Carroll recently represented me on a probation violation in Chesapeake he was recommended to me by a lawyer that i usually use . This was my second violation in which I violated condition 1 and 8 . Condition 1 is the worst one to violate it means i brought back a charge. 7Mr Carroll researched my case meticulously and fought very hard for me on court. Long story short I ended up doing just 56 days in jail my guidelines on just the condition 8 were 6 to 12 months .... If any body knows Chesapeake the are very hard on violations!!!! I was charged with a show cause for breaking a peace bond. I honestly had no idea what I had done to break the complainant's peace since I purposely had nothing to do with her and I had moved over 100 days after she made the complaint. Jason took my case and worked diligently to discover the reason. He found that the reason was unjustified. In court, Jason discredited the complainant and found that everything she said was untrue and the case was dismissed. Jason was very understanding of my mental state as I dealt with this trying time. He was compassionate and he and his team reassured me often that I had nothing to worry about. He definitely proved in court that justice and honesty always wins. I started off with another attorney who thought I should just pay what the other party was ordering me to pay. Then I got a referral from a good friend of mine, so I called Jeff Howell. I originally came into contact with Mr. Rowlands when he represented the individual I was suing in General District court. (In other words, he was the opposing counsel).
He litigated that case so well and effectively, that I followed up with him regarding a matter I needed assistance with regarding a Federal inmate I'm advocating for. He completed the most thorough and complete version of that particular document (a Power of Attorney,) I have ever seen.
The third matter I consulted with him on was regarding a civil matter in General District court I had started on my own, but then needed to follow up on with counsel.
For one thing, one generally wouldn't choose to secure the services of former opposing counsel, but due to his excellent work, I was so impressed with Mr. Rowlands as a whole, that I knew he was who I would want handling any legal matter I may ever have.
He was a superb litigator (with a difficult client who he was working with under far less than ideal circumstances,) and we worked together to reach a settlement that was satisfactory and in the best interests of all parties.
He is a great communicator and truly goes above and beyond to get the job done.
Even more impressively, regarding the third matter, while he certainly gave me the resources and information I needed to handle the matter, he also advised me that in his opinion, while I have a case, the time and energy required for me to pursue it really wouldn't be worth it, in the long run. He also advised me of an entirely different option that I will be pursuing in the interest of justice.
Mr. Rowlands has impeccable ethics and skill. He is very easy to work with (regardless of which side of the table you're on!) and I could note rate him any higher than I have.
I will most definitely go back to Mr. Rowlands for any legal matter I may have in the future.
If you need a good lawyer, regardless of how simple or complicated your case may be, he is the man for the job.

Over the course of the last 14 years I have used four different attorneys for the various issues that have arisen regarding custody of my child. Throughout my cases I was left wondering what my counsel was really doing. My attorneys were hard to get in touch with and I never really heard from them until a couple of days before the case went to court. I felt completely in the dark.
With Kellam, things were different from the start. He was very honest with his assessment of our case. Time was of the essence in my case and he hit the ground running. I hired Ameet Habib several years ago when I was going through a divorce. Just recently I went through a custody battle with my ex over our teenage children and had Ameet represent me again. I entered in a custody battle, asking for joint legal/physical custody, with no intentions of hiring a lawyer. I was lost, scared, and had no idea of what to do so I met with Mr. Habib for a consult. From the moment I met with him, he was very direct and to the point and I hired him. He never gave me false hope, did not lie, or hide anything. Mr. Habib would advise me of his professional opinion and then ask me what I wanted to do, so he did everything with what I wanted in mind. I am not very good speaking in court and I messed up with my words and he was able to fix my mess up. The GAL was against joint legal/physical custody and its very hard to convince the judge to rule against the GAL and Mr. Habib was able to persuade the judge that what I was asking for was in the best interest of my son. After trial, there was an appeal, before the appeal we were came to an agreement and part of that agreement was to withdrawal the appeal and when the other party did not follow through with their part of the agreement, Mr. Habib withdrew our part of the agreement in order to turn their hand to get them to follow through with their part of the agreement. Mr. Habib is a very intelligent lawyer and is very good at what he does. I would recommend him to anyone that is in need of a custody lawyer. He does everything he says and goes far and beyond to get things done. In the end, I got what I asked for and what my child needed, joint legal/physical custody without either party paying child support. Thank you so much for helping me get through something that means so much and that was so hard and scary.

When we first walked into the offices of the firm for which Ms. Antle is an attorney, we thought we were two weeks away from closing the doors to our company. Debt was beyond overdue, we couldn't make the required minimum payments to vendors, and our financial institution had recently called our notes. Hope for a successful future in our family business was gone with no apparent alternatives in sight.
After a several hour consultation with Ms. Antle and her colleague, our thoughts changed dramatically. We began to see options rather than demands. Our vendors were suddenly willing to work with us. Many of our most crucial vendors began to set up plans that were agreed upon at mutually advantageous rates. Finally, a thorough and well orchestrated plan was constructed as to how we would navigate through a Chapter XI reorganization.
After almost two years of working together, our plan for reorganization was approved. The year that we were in a protected status was the most profitable we have had to date. We are taking in new orders from companies that we have never worked with before and are able to fund jobs with the creative ideas shared with us by their firm.
This is all due to the assistance, hard work, and dedication that Ms. Antle and Joseph Liberatore put forth to ensure a successful outcome to our case. Countless hours were spent in negotiations prior to filing as well as during the reorg status. They worked out interest rates that were far lower than anything we could have accomplished as well as developed terms that would allow us to continue our success post bankruptcy.
In addition to working with the creditors, vendors and financial institutions, Ms. Antle did a fabulous job managing us. Many deadlines exist in these types of cases and she was always there to help us meet those time constraints. She helped us through the litany of paperwork, filings, and related activities.
To summarize, the work that Ms. Antle did for us was and continues to be immeasurable. We couldn't be more pleased and would highly recommend Ms. Antle and her firm to anyone in need of this type of legal work. As I wrote this review, an event, though seemingly small, was absolutely gigantic into the mindset we took through this long and arduous process. Our initial meeting took place on a Thursday afternoon. That Friday, Ms. Antle and Mr. Liberatore took time out of their schedule to call me on my cell phone long after business hours to see how I was holding up. Their compassion and caring for us as people, not clients or customers, was something that I took through the past two years. You would be hard pressed in this day and age to find that level of service anywhere else. For that, I am extremely grateful and am highly encouraged about the future of our thriving company that was once almost dead.

The case was one where a family trust was questionably liquidated by the trustees to the exclusion of some of the beneficiaries. Earlier, another attorney had advised us that the harm to trust's excluded beneficiaries was not actionable and would probably result in the beneficiary plaintiffs being disinherited. Legal research by Ms Zizzo, Rack & Olansen's litigation attorney, resulted in a lawsuit that eliminated the risk of disinheritance and the case was settled out of court with the wronged beneficiaries receiving six figure settlements.

I've used Mr. Meekins' services for roughly 15 years and I couldn't recommend him highly enough! Having been in business for over 30 years with a staff of over 150 employees spread over four states, the range of legal services that I find myself involved in runs the full gamut from fairly insignificant to colossal, personal to corporate. I always turn to him first, despite working regularly with many other attorneys across many states. Being a woman in a man's world it's amazing how he listens and respects my opinion and knows when to push and when to back off. I've hired and fired many attorneys that wanted to tell me what to do rather than work with me and with Sam I always feel I have a partner in resolution. He's a fighter, and I love that, but he will always tell me when I need to stop fighting. I admire that he will be the first to admit if he doesn't know something (a rare treat as many attorneys I know just can't) and is always ready to seek and/or recommend one of his myriad of capable colleagues if it becomes necessary. I consider myself to be somewhat difficult and very opinionated. I am trying to be contemplative as I truly respect and appreciate the man’s abilities and I want this review to reflect that. When I had a personal injury claim against the State of Virginia, I found it difficult to find an attorney willing to take my case…too difficult to sue the State and most likely not enough money to bother with. Even more difficult was the fact I lived in the Midwest. But after a phone conference, Mr. Littel agreed to take my case even though we were up against the statute of limitations and he sent me a contract as well as guidelines for the legal procedure via Clio Connect, a web-based client portal. I was more than pleased to find that David Littel practiced with complete transparency and honesty. He always took my phone calls or answered my e-mails. I was very impressed with his attention to detail, finding questionable statements that could be challenged. It provided me an opportunity to give an explanation eliminating a possible vulnerability. He settled the case for more than anyone anticipated and stood by his agreement. Although there were minor charges he could have added to the final bill, he did not. Mr. Pugh was our custody/visitation lawyer. He knows his stuff inside and out and after working with him, if we needed to hire an attorney again, we would have zero hesitation hiring him again. We had swapped from another attorney, also known in the area, to try a chance with Mr. Pugh after using the services of his partner, Mr. Karpov (who's equally impressive), and it was the best decision we could have made. Our previous lawyer was very hesitant and submissive in their advice to us each time an issue occurred which was frustrating. Greg Pugh is one of those old school lawyers who doesn't have to pay to be at the top of a website. If you understand anything about the legal industry you understand what I am talking about, I unfortunately went through a rough patch in life and got arrested for DUI two times within a year. The first lawyer I hired had a hundred 5 star reviews, I paid $5000 for my first DUI... BIG mistake I was sold and thought I had to of been hiring the best because the price and the reviews. NO I would of got the same deal had I used a public defender... it was an expensive learning lesson however after that painful experience I took the advice of someone who referred Mr. Pugh. Mr. Pugh did not sell me and tell me he was going to hold my hand like the previous attorney. I went on the fact he has been practicing for over 30 years, I was nervous because I was at risk of losing my career in the military and facing serious jail time. I respected his resume and prayed I wasn't going to get results I got from the first lawyer I hired. Well case was dismissed and I was charged 1800.00 ... I will never recommend anyone else and I am happy that there are still good people in this world that are not just trying to make a quick dollar and pretend to care about my military career and future. I hired Anne for my divorce. She helped me straighten out some basics after my ex claimed I abandoned him with a signed, notarized agreement in hand before I walked out. She made the divorce process as quick and painless as his foot dragging would allow and helped me solidify the modest concessions I asked for with ease. When it came to a nasty 4 year custody battle, I didn't think I could afford her and I worked with another attorney who made a complete mess of my case and lost some things I will never be able to reverse. After a significant loss, I decided I would do whatever it took and reached out to Anne again. She was amazing from our first conversation. She listened where the other attorney dismissed. She never blamed me or questioned my motives or actions with judgment, but from a genuine desire to understand so she could help the way I wanted and needed (within the confines of the law, obviously). She set realistic expectations without being a downer and she has always been easy to talk to when needed or quick to have someone on her team respond.
