During my 13 month divorce, he continually coached me on the value of restraint, always concerned with how any action might be perceived should we head to trial. His patience, coupled with his relentless attention to detail, resulted in a positive outcome when my divorce turned from amicable to litigious.
Dan successfully reduced my now ex-wife's settlement demand by 85%. Her lawyer tried an aggressive approach that Dan's experience and coolheadedness was able to navigate and resolve using the facts of our case.

Jeffrey Bagnell was my attorney in a lawsuit against Sig Sauer gun manufacturer. I first met Jeff while I was still in an almost month-long hospital stay following my injury and he had driven 8+ hours to meet me and my family face to face. Not many people could comprehend the struggle I have endured due to my injury, or fathom how life-changing a huge, public trial can be. However, Jeff was always there for me and has since evolved from attorney to close friend.
Jeff was by my side every single step of the way through a trial with terrifying odds. Just him and I, standing tall, against 14 attorneys with bottomless pockets, working for a company with billions of dollars at their disposal. Whether it was by phone, text, email, court filings, or sitting in a courtroom, Jeff never left me feeling alone in this fight. I know I would not have been able to make it through this horrific ordeal if it wasn’t for him continued support and guidance.
He is one of the most intelligent, hardworking, dedicated people I know. He went to great lengths and numerous sleepless nights to make sure he covered every aspect of my case. Although Sig Sauer’s law team tried, he never let them fluster him or outsmart him in the slightest. He always came back swinging with very quick, articulate, and effective responses to their attempts at overwhelming him with filings and paperwork. Brian is an exceptionally bright, insightful, caring and truly decent young attorney. I initially had hired another highly respected lawyer in his firm to handle my case. Brian was his assistant or associate. Within a couple of meetings it was clear that Brian was the superior attorney. I soon requested that he become the lead attorney for my case. It was extremely reassuring to know that I had an attorney who was able to listen and fight for me. He cut to the essence of the arguments and was able to explain any and all alternatives available to me. He pushed for me when ever he had an opportunity and worked tirelessly for me. If you’re entering into a real estate transaction in Connecticut, hire Jamie Gerard, partner at Nevas, Capasse & Gerard LLC, as your attorney (or run the risk of her being snapped up by the other side). Even the simplest transaction can become difficult or complicated (or both, as ours did) and if that happens, you will want the best legal advice and representation available. Jamie was able to navigate us through the contract and closing process of selling our home that was made problematic by demanding buyers and their unpleasant representatives. Her quick responsiveness, sound judgement, calm demeanor, and keen legal acumen resulted in the satisfactory closing of a transaction that at times seemed nearly impossible. The Department of Children and Families wrongly dragged me into a case concerning my son, because of actions taken by his mother. I was afraid that they might take my son away from me. I tripped and fell and hurt myself on an uneven driveway. I hurt my knee, wrist, nose and had abrasions on my face. I was bleeding heavily. I tried to contact the building’s owner’s insurance to make a claim but got nowhere. I was referred to Attorney Kevin Hoffkins by another attorney. He put together all of my medical records and bills and put together a demand for the insurance company. He got a very good very good settlement that I am very happy with. He is a great attorney.

Going through a divorce is stressful enough. Do not bring this man into your life unless you're looking to make it more stressful, and lose all your money while you're at it. Towards the end of the literal YEARS I was stuck with Dan (got too far in and couldn't afford starting over with another retainer somewhere else), I really started to believe Dan was a malicious person. As some years have passed and I have more perspective on it now, I see he is someone who is simply just lazy and in it for the $$. To pay this man $500/hour is both sickening and laughable when I think about what he actually did during that time. A whole lot of nothing. He is arrogant, overpriced, and just a lazy man. There's plenty of decent overpriced lawyers on the Gold Coast. Go find one, because Dan Murphy isn't it.

He was ok. Recommended through a family member. Professional, yet reserved. However, I can't really feel genuinely grateful toward him after learning a year later that he initially didn't want to take my case, as if my case was "beneath" his stature. In retrospect, he didn't really fight for me as much as I would have wanted. Still never received justice for someone vandalizing my car or the supposed victims harassing me back then. He did just enough to tolerate my case.

Livia is smart and she came recommended a while back. I sense over time that her business has shifted or slowed down for whatever reason (definitely does not have as many clients as before) since changing firms. She's gotten so aggressive with her approach to cases, and it also trickles down to insane amounts of billing. Nothing is focused on resolving issues, only on litigating and finding excuses to drag out conflict and bill more. Having had attorneys who gave me straight talk and encouraged me to be reasonable and, when appropriate, at least try to settle, I know a red flag when I see one who does not encourage this in their clients--its a sign they need to bill more hours. Unfortunately this comes at the expense of your case.

I hired Gregory Kimal of BEECHHAM AND MOSESto handle my case after being a passenger in a car that was rear ended on RT95 in Connecticut. WHAT A MISTAKE!
We won the case but he never wanted to talk to me afterwards? Blocked my calls and more. I know owe $26 thousand dollars because he never followed through and filed an appeal related to when I got the check. That’s when he ghosted me! He knows he screwed things up hence the ghosting. You would think his bosses would not want a half glass empty attorney to work for them but nope they got their cut !

I entered the office to sign paperwork and forgot the lawyers name I was working with. Upon asking for a minute to look it up, the receptionist said "how do you come to a lawyers office and not know who you're seeing". I'm a highly educated professional but given the emotional situation had difficulty with name recall. A lawyer's office should be a place to help people in difficult positions. This receptionist is condescending, rude and it's embarrassing to have this type of staff in the front of the house. I would recommend they reconsider who is greeting and directing their clients.
