I received a ticket in Grant County and it was a challenge to locate a firm that would go there. After reaching out to NW Liberty and speaking with Jorge late in the day on a Friday. I didn’t have to do anything, except provide him the necessary documentation. Throughout the process Christopher kept me updated and explained the process. Both Jorge and Christopher provided excellent service and were very responsive. Today, I received great news that my ticket was dismissed.

Used their services for a traffic ticket and it was dismissed! I didn’t have to go to court or provide additional information beyond our first phone call. I was very happy with the outcome and service here, would be happy to work with them again.

This is the second time I tried an uncontested divorce and it went much much better. The first time was through an online "fill in the blank" site that was useless. This firm provides great directions along the way to try to prevent it from becoming contested. I had to give in a little which is fine so I could get it over with. If it did I had options to try to settle it. Bo is honest about the process and all fees, and tells you exactly what to do. There are NO surprise charges or fees. All in all I'd use this firm again, as he did his job admirably.

I want to thank Bo and his firm for all he did to guide me through the first horrible months after my ex left my marriage until settlement. He's a great attorney who protected me. He was also kind enough to let me unload my emotional pain and wise enough to keep my financial future at the forefront of the decisions I needed to make. He took control of a chaotic situation and I highly recommend his services.

Mr. Weintraub was my lawyer for a modification of child-support gate. I think he did a really good job of figuring out my former spouses actual income versus what was reported and even corrected Washington State’s calculations. He looked at his finances and tax returns and I think his tax background helped a lot which is one reason I hired him. Other lawyers I consulted didn’t point them out. He has a very helpful staff and was less cost than many others quoted, so I’m very happy with his overall work.

I worked with Loretta for 6 months in a collaborative process. I found her to be helpful, articulate and dedicated to delivering a good outcome for us as a couple even while serving my interests as an individual. Unfortunately we could not conclude my divorce in the collaborative process, but Loretta did her best. When things got really emotional I think she contributed to me making a poor decision and would have liked her to make a different recommendation, but that's hindsight and hard to really blame her. Overall, a top attorney.

I contacted Monique as she came highly recommended. Within a few minutes she put me at ease and took charge of my legal issue. The case was denied and dismissed completely. In my case that was a perfect outcome. Monique is very competent, personable, full of energy and such a breath of fresh air. If needed, I will use her professional services again. I highly recommend Monique to anyone who wants to take an issue “head on”. I cannot express my gratitude enough for her outstanding service. AWESOME!!!!

She is always very helpful with any questions I had about our case or the progress that was being made. Monique's work is very well done and she is very professional. Her team was also super great and always on top of everything. Everyone always is very involved with the case and made me feel like my case was just as important to them as it was to me.

My review is for the specific purpose of recommending Melissa Storch as a Collaborative attorney . I heard her speak eight years prior to hiring her and was so impressed I wrote her name and phone number in my contacts in case I would ever need her . And when I did need her and hired her I was right away put at ease in the midst of my despair knowing I was in the best of hands . She is highly intelligent and disarmingly equipped to take on what I would consider one of the more complex of cases . While she is a great listener I was impressed with the larger perspective she conveyed to me and I felt secure by her experience , intellect and attention to the matter at hand . Without sounding cryptic , no matter what is going on in your marriage if you decide to get a divorce try Melissa Storch If it is at all possible . A lot of people are not aware of the benefits of this process but it is like the Mayo Clinic of divorce . Melissa Storch has the presence of the consummate professional while at the same time helping you feel like you have the security of sitting with a true friend . Not to discount her education , intellect or experience yet all of this is given to you as a client with an extra comfort . Nothing is harder than going through the divorce process in my experience but if you HAVE to go through it like I did I would recommend Melissa hands down because of my own experience . And it has been five months since I last worked with her and I am still sitting here writing this because of the impact she had in my life .

I was very lucky that a good friend recommended Melissa Storch's services for assisting me with my divorce. Melissa was an excellent advocate for exploring all avenues in drafting a fair settlement. My sister and a close friend told me that I would end up hating my lawyer when my divorce was final. I can happily state that I feel very satisfied with Melissa's services and heartily recommend her if you want to pursue a cooperative or collaborative divorce.

Maria was the first lawyer I spoke with when the work started on my divorce. I knew the moment I met her that I had walked in the right office. In what was a very difficult situation for me, she treated me with genuine respect and concern. And on top of all that, she was also great counsel, always timely, always knowledgable, and always ethical. And that was in the face of opposition that did not necessarily reflect those same characteristics. I'm quite thankful that I chose her office to walk into.

Chellie Anderson has been an absolute cornerstone in my experience with legal support, working alongside attorney Joshua Bruner with a level of expertise and reliability that's both impressive and deeply reassuring. She feels like a second lawyer on the legal team. Since taking over for Donna, Chellie has been incredibly prompt, utterly professional, and someone who embodies the highest standards of what top-of-the-line legal assistance should be. If you'll click over to read my review of Donna, you'll see that replacing her was an incredibly high bar to live up to. Chellie's success in matching Donna's performance as a paralegal to Joshua Bruner makes me wonder if it isn't the strength of the paralegal team, and not the attorneys, at Envision Family Law that makes the firm so successful. That isn't to knock attorney Joshua Bruner, who has been nothing short of magnificent. Flawless. Compelling. Powerful. An expert crafter of legal writing, interviewer, and declaration writer. And deeply empathic to boot. He's been beyond-the-beyond good. It's just that, in settling on Envision, we interviewed countless other firms, including all the top firms in Washington, and even paid an $8000 retainer at one, only to have it completely refunded because of the sheer complexity of our case. We experienced countless paralegal's assistance and communication through that process. EACH of the paralegals we worked with at Envision - Donna & Chellie - are an order of magnitude better than ANY of the dozen paralegals we worked with at other firms. Chellie's approach isn't just about being thorough - and she is remarkably thorough - it's about bringing a personal understanding to her work that genuinely makes a difference. Josh trusts Chellie implicitly, and it's easy to see why. Her capacity to handle complex legal tasks with a calm and efficient demeanor has not only won my complete trust but also my respect. She operates with a clarity and precision that ensures everything is managed smoothly, which is something I've come to rely on. What stands out to me about Chellie is not just her professionalism but also her genuine dedication to her clients. She responds quickly, making sure that I'm always in the loop and fully informed, while respecting our budget. This level of communication and care is something I've found to be exceptional. Chellie doesn't just meet the high standards set by the legal profession; she surpasses them, making the often daunting world of legal proceedings far more navigable and less stressful. Working with Chellie, I've felt a strong sense of confidence in our ongoing legal matters. Her ability to work seamlessly with Joshua Bruner enhances their legal services tremendously, providing a level of support that I truly value. It's not just about the legal tasks at hand. It's about knowing there's someone as capable as Chellie looking out for your best interests, while you're out taking care of your own business and family matters. For anyone in need of exceptional legal support, my experience says you'll be in very good hands with Chellie. She very obviously enhances the effectiveness of an already powerhouse attorney in Joshua Bruner. Now having more than 6 months of experience with Envision, Chellie, Donna, and Bruner, I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who has to go against them in court. They are by FAR the most prepared - and talented - legal team in the courtroom, every single time. It's not even close. If you need a legal team that is going to win, even when they "shouldn't," I currently put my money - literally - on Envision, because of industry-leading performance by paralegal's like Chellie. That performance appears to just be par for the course for all parties at Envision. Deeply impressive. Easiest 5-star review ever.

Hiring Julie Park as my attorney was one of the best decisions I made during one of the toughest times of my life. Julie's straightforward, no-nonsense approach kept me focused during a very complicated divorce, from parenting issues to complex financial issues as well. Julie is prompt at returning emails, calls, and was very thorough and efficient in every aspect of my case. Very un-knowledgeable and led me down the wrong path. Told me this was a "non-alimony" state, and robbed me of any alimony I had coming. My ex had a retirement set up for us both, from a 20 year marriage, and told me I had to find another lawyer if I wanted to attempt to get any portion of the fund. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Sarah is the smartest but attentive lawyer I’ve ever met. I’ve been around quite a few and none even come close to the way they handle cases, their knowledge of the law or their strong sense of fight. We have had to use Cheryl a few times and the reviews are very accurate, she pushes her agenda on you. Mediation is not arbitration but she claims that if you don’t agree she will then arbitrate. Do not go in without any attorney! She will side with one person, that’s normally the one she talks to first. Not a clue how she has not been disbarred for her antics. I plan on filing a complaint with the bar association.

As others have said. Biased, close minded, unprofessional, money wasting, and will side with one. Once that happens the other side is done. Blind to facts and reason. Then she’ll issue a ruling that is full of errors and impossible to meet conditions. She doesn’t resolve conflict she creates new problems to fight over.

On 8/22/2012 myself and my husband hired Mr. Penfield to represent us on our appeal case. His consultation was a FREE consultation. We sat across from him in his conference room in Bellevue, WA as he entered and rentered the room as he also was handling some sort of arbitration issues with other clients over the phone. This is the reason why we were there for two hours. He went over the pertinent documents to determine if he wanted to take our case. He stated he did and then he asked us for $10K up front. I said NO. Cannot do that. He sthen said $5K + referrals and had Michelle, his secretary make up the contract. I did refer one person to him within a week. He took my money and said he thought we had a great case. The brief was due in Pierce County COAII in approx. 35-40 days from the time we met with Mr. Penfield. I spent a lot of money getting all the necessary documents to COAII so the only thing left to do was file the brief. As the deadline for the brief due date neared, I became concerned, as Mr. Penfield never filed a Notice of Appearance. He took my case and my money but never filed a notice of appearance? This means Mr. Penfield never really intended on representing me, but made me believe otherwise and waited until the 11th hour to notify me so I was faced with a serious time crunch. After I left several messages and emails Mr. Penfield finally responded and stated that he did not think we had a good case and he is not going to represent us in the appeal. He then said we should just move to mediation. This was not possible because we did not have a valid Notice of Default. Mr. Penfield who is supposedly up on foreclosure statutes certainly would know that one needs a valid NOD to go to mediation under the department of commerce in our state. This to me is a conflict. Mr. Penfield's contract was a flat fee contract to write the appeal, which he never did. He then issued me a new contract for mediation. He said all of the money was spent and really his hourly fee is $375 per hour, which was not specified anywhere on his contract and if that was his fee to begin with we would have never hired him.

Offers his expertise, takes your money, then goes completely dark. If you do manage to get a hold of him, he has a half-a$$ story about how things are going and then excuses about how is world is overly difficult and makes it impossible for him to conduct his business. He is a fraud. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS GUY or you will not only lose your money, you will lose whatever you hired him to help you protect.

I hired Bob over 3 years ago to help me with two matters. The first one involved my marriage. Bob was ever so gracious at our initial meeting. However, when it came down to doing anything he bluffed his way through until 1 week before our court date. Then he told me that a superior court judge had already ruled and we had no recourse. The second involved a fraudulent bank loan. Bob wrote the complaint over and over but never filed it. This took 2 years, as he always had excuses about problems with his family or he had been in the hospital, or his car broke down. You name it, he had the excuse. Just recently Bob was aware that I got some money and he asked me for a loan. When I denied him he said he needed to pay his staff before he could move forward, and charged me an additional $500 over and above the agreed upon amount to solve my case. That was the last I heard from him.

What a Mediation Lawyer Can Do for You

A mediation lawyer specializes in resolving disputes outside of the courtroom through a process called mediation. Mediation involves a neutral third-party mediator who helps the disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediation lawyers can represent clients in various matters, including divorce, business disputes, employment conflicts, contract issues, personal injury claims, and more.

Unlike litigation, mediation is a less adversarial and more cost-effective way to settle disputes, often leading to faster resolutions and preserving relationships between the parties involved.

When Should I Hire a Mediation Lawyer?

Consider hiring a mediation lawyer when you’re involved in a dispute and want to avoid the time, expense, and stress of going to court. Common reasons to hire a mediation lawyer include:

  • Divorce or child custody disputes: A mediation lawyer can help you reach a fair settlement on issues like property division, alimony, and parenting arrangements without going to court.
  • Business or contract disputes: For disagreements such as contract disputes, partnership conflicts, or intellectual property issues, a mediation lawyer can assist in resolving the matter through negotiation.
  • Employment disputes: Issues like wrongful termination, discrimination, or wage disputes can be addressed through mediation to find common ground and avoid lawsuits.
  • Personal injury cases: Mediation can help both parties agree on compensation in cases like car accidents or slip-and-fall claims without a prolonged court battle.
  • Property disputes: Disputes over property ownership, landlord-tenant issues, or boundary disagreements can be settled more amicably through mediation.
  • Family or inheritance disputes: Mediation can help resolve conflicts over wills or trusts without further dividing the family.

What Does a Mediation Lawyer Do?

A mediation lawyer provides a range of services to help clients resolve disputes through negotiation and mutual agreement. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing your interests: Acting as your advocate during mediation to ensure your rights are protected and you understand your legal options.
  • Preparing for mediation: Reviewing the facts of the case, gathering necessary documents, and advising you on potential resolutions.
  • Facilitating communication: Helping to facilitate open and constructive dialogue between parties to clarify points of contention.
  • Negotiating settlements: Assisting in negotiating fair and balanced settlement terms that are in your best interest.
  • Drafting mediation agreements: Preparing the official mediation agreement that outlines the terms of the settlement, which is often legally binding.
  • Avoiding litigation: Aiming to reach a settlement that eliminates the need for a court trial, saving time and resources for both parties.
  • Handling complex legal issues: Explaining the legal implications of various settlement terms in cases with complicated legal matters.

How Are Mediation Lawyers Paid?

Mediation lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on experience and case complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler mediations, some lawyers may offer a flat fee covering all legal work involved in the process.
  • Retainer: In ongoing or complex cases, a retainer may be required as an upfront payment billed against as work progresses.

Discuss fees and payment structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the cost of mediation services.

How Much Does a Mediation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a mediation lawyer depends on several factors, including the case's complexity, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the dispute. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Typically between $150 and $500 per hour.
  • Flat fees: For simple mediations, fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Total mediation costs: Can vary widely, from $2,000 to $10,000 for straightforward cases, up to $10,000 to $50,000 or more for complex disputes.

Always request a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to understand total expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Mediation Lawyer

Before hiring a mediation lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with mediation cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in handling similar disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate based on your specific case.
  3. What is the likelihood of resolving my case through mediation?
Seek an honest assessment of whether mediation is suitable for your situation.
  4. How long will the mediation process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline and number of sessions required.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Confirm who will manage your mediation and represent your interests.
  6. Can we pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) if necessary?
Ask about other forms of ADR, such as arbitration, if mediation doesn't resolve the conflict.

How to Check the Credibility of a Mediation Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable mediation lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary history.
  • Look for mediation experience: Review their website or professional profile for specialization in mediation and successful case histories.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google for client feedback.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients familiar with their mediation skills.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications from organizations like the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Relevant documents: Any materials related to the dispute, such as contracts, emails, financial records, or court filings.
  • List of key issues: A detailed list of the main points of contention that need resolution.
  • Timeline of events: A chronological account of events leading up to the dispute, including prior resolution attempts.
  • Goals for the mediation: Be prepared to discuss your desired outcomes and areas where you're willing to compromise.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Any queries about the mediation process, fees, or their approach to dispute resolution.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide the best possible advice for resolving your dispute through mediation.
