I'm convinced they're racist, paid for consult was told they'd reach back out to me within A WEEK to let me know if they could represent - 2 weeks past never received call back. Once I called to follow up the response was "oh sorry we can't help you or refer you anywhere", mind you they were 30 minutes late for my paid consultation. I presented 3 different civil matters but because 1 was too LARGE or "outside of their help" Bowen chose not to help or represent on either although the 3 were independent / stand alone cases. Kindly asked for a supervisor to give me a call, as I begin to explain to mgr she stopped me & said "ma'am I didn't call to hear what you have to say just calling to let you know we won't be assisting you" without explanation as to why. Overall take away is the tone of the ladies I spoke with at Bowen it's almost like they have better stuff to do / you owe them something, as well as the lack of communication during promised follow up times. No matter how kind I was to these people you can tell their energy feeds off one another. Don't be fooled by the reviews they send constant notifications pushing for 5 star reviews. Definitely do your homework before paying those consult fees guys.

I'm posting this review a year after my case was dismissed (11/23) because, I'm just now encountering the issue. Jim is great, his team is alright. Communicate was difficult sometimes. When I initially talked to him I felt confident and happy with what he was saying and his experience in law- that I would get the results I wanted. He did however make it seem like it would be OFF my record as I have a CDL. I've been in the plants/refineries oil n gas since then. (They never said anything about my background, I assumed the case was gone) The work is great money- Except you travel a lot and have no life. I'm looking to switch into something more local so I can have a life again, and found that the case is still on my background after I thought it would be gone. So, this unfortunately is still effecting me, as a CDL holder. And my impression was it was going to be OFF my record, and he spoke to my father as well, and my father got that impression too. So, just ask your questions thoroughly and precise. Especially about EXPUNGEMENT. (Means completely off your record, no trace of it). And research multiple lawyers too.
While I was happy with the results at the time (assuming the case was off my record), I'm just disappointed now. It was a long and trying time, and now I have to wait another year to get it officially expunged. And spend MORE money. So just a honest review and heads up for CDL folk. Note: He is still a good lawyer to have in your corner, just make sure the communication and understanding of what you're getting is crystal clear.

I contacted Dessiray for legal advise regarding a child support modification. I asked questions using different scenarios and she was helpful with answering them all. She explained everything in a way that I understood and didn't rush through her responses. First let me say...do not go into a divorce without your own attorney!!! I almost waited too long to hire Dawn. While on the phone, she pulled the information on the courthouse records she told me to get in as soon as I could that afternoon. It wasn't what was stated in the paperwork it was the ambiguous terms that were used.
Dawn is direct, aggressive, very busy which sometimes makes her hard to reach and a darn good negotiator. She knows her stuff. Don't go see her if you want a shrink...go to her if you want to be well represented. Make sure your expectations are realistic and you will do well.
The "friendly" divorce paperwork was full of open ended statements that would have cost me more than my legally fair share. With that being said she warned me right from the beginning that we are now negotiating a business transaction not a friendly settlement. You can go back to friendly after the divorce is final.
You have to take care of your interests and Dawn will do that for you in legalese if you let her. Sometimes you wonder where she is going in her logic... but just sit back, watch and listen...she knows what she is doing. I think if I had been as aggressive as she suggested I may have done better...but I couldn't let go of the relationship. Remember if you are enlisting the help of an attorney (Dawn)...your relationship is over...so let her get down to business.
She is very good in mediation. She understands how to effectively work through the process. She should since she offers mediation services in her practice.
I think the most impressive thing and the sign of a well respected attorney is when we went to the courthouse (unfortunately we had to go), she was known by many of the court employees, officials and other attorneys that were waiting for their time slot.
If you are reading this I am sorry you are having to go through it...but I think Dawn is a good choice. By the way she was recommended to me by another satisfied client.

Terrible attitude! Doesn’t like to be questioned. She took my case and then argues with me as if she is prosecuting me. Lacks empathy. She is one or those lawyers who obviously is in it for the money and not for her client. I hate I even was recommended to her. I spoke with other clients she had out of Arkansas and they all have had nothing but negative experiences with Joyce. I bet that the reason she moved her practice to Texas. She won’t get away with this bullying style. DO NOT USE HER TO EVEN REPRESENT YOU IN A SEATBELT TICKET….she works against you!!!
