I cannot recommend Lance highly enough. From the moment I first consulted with him, I felt confident that my case was in the best hands. Lance demonstrated exceptional professionalism, compassion, and expertise throughout the entire process. He took the time to understand my situation fully and worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome for my family. Lance always kept me informed, explaining every step in a way that was easy to understand and made sure I was comfortable with the decisions being made. He went above and beyond to advocate for my rights and the needs of my children, making a very stressful process much more manageable. I am incredibly grateful for Lance’s dedication and hard work. If you’re looking for a family/ child support attorney who truly cares about their clients and delivers results, look no further!

I recently settled my case with this law firm…and let’s just say I will NEVER use them again for ANYTHING . I was dissatisfied with the services and disgusted with the amount I’ve received for my car accident.. it was ridiculous how I had to constantly call in and upon doing so it was times new people were brought on to my case, and I would have to explain from start. They don’t care! And they received far more money than me as a client in the end… I wish my case was NEVER handed to them by Great Trial which is another company I would NEVER trust to do any other case for me… you are better off going to well known attorneys than this small new inexperienced office. Never again!

As an independent adjuster, I have been exposed to all types of attorneys over twenty five years and consider Joe to be among the best. His gentle demeanor is an asset which belies his skill and tenacity and his humble attitude provided the keyto settlement in some of the most difficult cases we shared. Whether plaintiff or defendant, parties can rely on Joe's knowledge, judgement and advice and I am proud to give him my highest recomendation.

Joe did a tremendous job in mediating a personal injury case for me recently. I had the pleasure of working with Joe several years ago when we represented adverse parties in a lawsuit. As a mediator, Joe showed the same mix of bulldog toughness and ingenuity but still being a very nice guy that he used so effectively as a trial lawyer. This is a tough blend but Joe has it. In our mediation, Joe stayed after everyone and the case got resolved. It is easy to see why Joe has become one of the very top mediators in Georgia.

Ms. White has a very difficult job. At the end of the day at least half of a party will not be happy with her because she has to make a decision about her client, your child, and decide which home is best for them. I found her to be absolutely incredible, very fare, extremely direct, and a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a fare and balanced GAL.

If you are not the one whom is paying her please do not choose her. I was young and very nieve. child custody cases are very sensative and triggering and she'll take full advantage of this. she'll make you comfortable with confiding in her telling your story only for the purpose of you choosing her as your Gal and will then become very bias and intentionally try to prove the points of the paying party. If you are the paying party she's absolutely great at siding with anything and everything you claim and will work over time to do so. For single mothers living in low income areas please do not pick this women. she'll bring up a case where a mother thats "less fortunate" won to make you feel comfortable tell you how finances don't play a part in the case then she will indeed use your financial state against you and even things happening In your neighborhood that has absolutely nothing to do with you. she'll offer you legal advice to make it seem like she "helping you" only to then turn against you in court. she lacks intuition and foresight greatly and will project what ever she's personally went through and her previous cases on to you. You will indeed input loosing your child while she convinces herself and the courts that that is "what's best" her opinion "what's best" boils down to who financially has more money. I had hope and faith in her hearing my story and using her intuition and skills to see what's happening and actually speak the truth the absolute total opposite happen and its saddens my heart to even have to write this. save yourself and your relationship with your child and do not choose this women if you are not paying.

This lawyer strictly follows the rules and doesn't go the extra mile to assist you. She makes big promises but fails to deliver. She couldn't make time for an important interview, even though she knew about it months in advance. Instead, she said she'd listen in by phone but didn't even bother to do that. As expected, the interview didn't go well, and I had to pay thousands more to fix the mistakes she made. Save your money and avoid this lawyer; she's only in it for the money and lacks the emotional intelligence needed for the job.

Ms. Fielder lacks integrity and that is Key for any Lawyer when dealing with people's family, personal well being etc. I had a horrible experience with her after paying her for services. Poor communication with keeping me informed. Never returned phone calls/emails. Therefore when we arrived for court she couldnt even answer the judges questions! It was embarrasing! Not to mention she was late and forgot to file documents with the court! I paid a large amount of money as a retainer fee and she took advantage of my personal situation. Im not sure how much experience this woman has but Id say she could use about 20 more years and a few classes in humility.. DO NOT HIRE HER. When I decided to hire her I based my decision on the reviews on this site which I now know were probaly wirtten by Carrie Fiedler herself. I would hate for anyone else hoping for a good attorney to make the same mistake I did. TRUST ME! KEEP LOOKING!

I contacted Mr. Harris after a Hit and Run accident that left me severely injured. He was able to deal not only with the Police Department getting all of the information (available and some that was hidden) that was needed for my case and all of insurance companies, lawyers, etc. He made the process during my recovery from surgery bearable and easy for me by being considerate, professional and always available. Mr. Harris went over and above his responsibilities as my attorney to make sure that every option was available to me. I hope that I would never need to , but I would hire him again in an instant.

Despite coming highly reviewed, I was extremely disappointed with her lack of objectivity. She did not consider all the facts and information that was presented to her by several parties. She made a very skewed recommendation that sided with a sub par parent. By all means, do your research and choose your lawyer carefully.

Case assigned to underling who could not hold her own for the client in a negotiation with a high school drop out. Often wondered if she was representing the person I paid her to represent or the lazy convicted meth manufacturer she should have been defending her client against. Would never recommend her and the cost was extreme.

What a Mediation Lawyer Can Do for You

A mediation lawyer specializes in resolving disputes outside of the courtroom through a process called mediation. Mediation involves a neutral third-party mediator who helps the disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediation lawyers can represent clients in various matters, including divorce, business disputes, employment conflicts, contract issues, personal injury claims, and more.

Unlike litigation, mediation is a less adversarial and more cost-effective way to settle disputes, often leading to faster resolutions and preserving relationships between the parties involved.

When Should I Hire a Mediation Lawyer?

Consider hiring a mediation lawyer when you’re involved in a dispute and want to avoid the time, expense, and stress of going to court. Common reasons to hire a mediation lawyer include:

  • Divorce or child custody disputes: A mediation lawyer can help you reach a fair settlement on issues like property division, alimony, and parenting arrangements without going to court.
  • Business or contract disputes: For disagreements such as contract disputes, partnership conflicts, or intellectual property issues, a mediation lawyer can assist in resolving the matter through negotiation.
  • Employment disputes: Issues like wrongful termination, discrimination, or wage disputes can be addressed through mediation to find common ground and avoid lawsuits.
  • Personal injury cases: Mediation can help both parties agree on compensation in cases like car accidents or slip-and-fall claims without a prolonged court battle.
  • Property disputes: Disputes over property ownership, landlord-tenant issues, or boundary disagreements can be settled more amicably through mediation.
  • Family or inheritance disputes: Mediation can help resolve conflicts over wills or trusts without further dividing the family.

What Does a Mediation Lawyer Do?

A mediation lawyer provides a range of services to help clients resolve disputes through negotiation and mutual agreement. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing your interests: Acting as your advocate during mediation to ensure your rights are protected and you understand your legal options.
  • Preparing for mediation: Reviewing the facts of the case, gathering necessary documents, and advising you on potential resolutions.
  • Facilitating communication: Helping to facilitate open and constructive dialogue between parties to clarify points of contention.
  • Negotiating settlements: Assisting in negotiating fair and balanced settlement terms that are in your best interest.
  • Drafting mediation agreements: Preparing the official mediation agreement that outlines the terms of the settlement, which is often legally binding.
  • Avoiding litigation: Aiming to reach a settlement that eliminates the need for a court trial, saving time and resources for both parties.
  • Handling complex legal issues: Explaining the legal implications of various settlement terms in cases with complicated legal matters.

How Are Mediation Lawyers Paid?

Mediation lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on experience and case complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler mediations, some lawyers may offer a flat fee covering all legal work involved in the process.
  • Retainer: In ongoing or complex cases, a retainer may be required as an upfront payment billed against as work progresses.

Discuss fees and payment structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the cost of mediation services.

How Much Does a Mediation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a mediation lawyer depends on several factors, including the case's complexity, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the dispute. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Typically between $150 and $500 per hour.
  • Flat fees: For simple mediations, fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Total mediation costs: Can vary widely, from $2,000 to $10,000 for straightforward cases, up to $10,000 to $50,000 or more for complex disputes.

Always request a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to understand total expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Mediation Lawyer

Before hiring a mediation lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with mediation cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in handling similar disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate based on your specific case.
  3. What is the likelihood of resolving my case through mediation?
Seek an honest assessment of whether mediation is suitable for your situation.
  4. How long will the mediation process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline and number of sessions required.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Confirm who will manage your mediation and represent your interests.
  6. Can we pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) if necessary?
Ask about other forms of ADR, such as arbitration, if mediation doesn't resolve the conflict.

How to Check the Credibility of a Mediation Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable mediation lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary history.
  • Look for mediation experience: Review their website or professional profile for specialization in mediation and successful case histories.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google for client feedback.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients familiar with their mediation skills.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications from organizations like the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Relevant documents: Any materials related to the dispute, such as contracts, emails, financial records, or court filings.
  • List of key issues: A detailed list of the main points of contention that need resolution.
  • Timeline of events: A chronological account of events leading up to the dispute, including prior resolution attempts.
  • Goals for the mediation: Be prepared to discuss your desired outcomes and areas where you're willing to compromise.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Any queries about the mediation process, fees, or their approach to dispute resolution.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide the best possible advice for resolving your dispute through mediation.
