I'm the CEO of a California Corporation and I needed a local Louisiana attorney to represent us for the domestication of a foreign judgment from a California Court and then assist with any further litigation in the Louisiana jurisdiction. After talking to the Louisiana State Bar, who recommended two attorneys who specialized in what I needed, I did a little further vetting and settled on attorney Imtiaz Siddiqui, which turned out to be a wise choice. Mr. Siddiqui was thorough in explaining how we should proceed under Louisiana State Law.
First, Mr. Siddiqui handled the domestication of the foreign judgment quickly and efficiently, resulting in a lien in our favor recorded on the judgment debtor's real property. There was a quiet period while our lien accrued interest pursuant to Louisiana law. After several months, the judgement debtor's counsel filed a motion to modify our lien so that he could sell the property without paying us. Mr. Siddiqi crafted a convincing opposition that ultimately brought the judgment debtor to the settlement table, where Mr. Siddiqui was able to negotiate a six-figure settlement that worked for everyone.
I have already told Mr. Siddiqui that we will use him again in the future when the need arises. Happy to recommend him as a business lawyer.

I met Mr. Siddiqui in January 2020 and we worked together over the next 20 months on two separate litigations. One litigation was for an unpaid wage dispute and the other a tort interference claim.
When I started searching for legal representation I had no idea what to look for. All I can say is I was very lucky to connect with him and choose him to represent me. He is very organized and has a calming and confident demeanor. His knowledge of the courts and laws made navigating the complex processes of civil litigation straightforward. I got a ticket going 86 in a 60 from a state trooper, requiring a court appearance. After calling a few firms and comparing rates, I went with Liuzza Law Firm just because they were the most affordable firm that I found and they also had good reviews. I was absolutely thrilled with the result! Chris was able to get the judge to downgrade my ticket to a nonmoving violation, which won’t show up on my insurance, AND have the court waive my fee completely!! Dean Gaunt is doing a great job keeping students engaged and mingling with each other. Law school demands a lot of non-social mental work--reading, research, writing--and these events keep the classes interacting so that we get make connections and de-stress.
Our professors keep up with Dean Gaunt in their excellence. They are experienced teachers and know how to handle first year classes (extra kudos to Gajda, torts, and Gordley, contracts). So glad to have picked Tulane.
Regarding peers; there is a reputation among all law school applicants that their classmates are out to push them down the curve. I have yet to meet anyone who has been unwilling to answer a question or offer academic insight.

I told her I wanted to use an attorney with experience in this sort of thing so I wouldn't have to worry about it and would get it done fast as I need to have my preferred name match for my job. She told me not to worry, that she would take care of it quickly. I initially met with her in late July, and I signed my petition in early August. it is now January and the process is not done. She has been very unresponsive, as I've texted her multiple times asking for specifics on why this is taking so long. I now haven't heard from her in a week. I've called her office multiple times with no answer and left messages. Called her phone but the voicemail box is full. The lack of communication leaves me to not trust that she is able to do the job I paid her to do in a timely manner, and feel like I've wasted my time and money for something I would have been better off doing myself. Ive spoken with people who have changed their names on their own with no attorney and most did it within a month. I am at 5 months. My passport has expired and my license expires soon which will be a major complication where I have to renew it under my old name, while I was under the impression would have been taken care of by now. I would not trust Sharon Williams with anything as important as custody or a will if she can't even properly do a name change.
