I contacted Russell R. Hatten after being involved in an automobile accident in which I was rear-ended by an uninsured motorist. Upon impact I was then pushed into the vehicle in front of me, causing me to rear-end that vehicle. Mr. Hatten was able to navigate the situation to make sure the party at fault for these two collisions took responsibility. Myself, having a chronic back issues, needed medical treatments to address my injuries resulting from the accident. However, the cost of these treatments exceeded the coverage provided by by uninsured motor policy. At least that is what I thought. Turns out the medical facility was charging me nearly four times what should have been charged. Mr. Hatten was able to negotiate the initial cost down to what is considered fair. I was then able to receive the treatment needed to begin my road to recovery. Without Mr. Russell Hatten's help I fear that I would have been left unable to pay for the costs of my treatments. I cannot thank the Chalat Hatten & Banker firm enough. I was truly someone in great need and they were there to provide that help. I would highly recommend Chalat Hatten & Banker, PC to anyone who is in need of legal advice.

I was shattered after a terrible snowboarding accident in which I got hit by a beginner snowboarder. This snowboarder smashed my foot, dislocated it, tore all the ligaments, broke it in several spots and shattered my cartilage. I was devastated after realizing my health insurance was a scam and my foot required several surgeries, many months of physical therapy, and the loss of my ability to continue my work in the same way, if at all. My life flashed before my eyes wondering how I would ever be successful again while the bills piled up and my foot, walking ability and driving ability was completely hindered and lost. My lawyer Russell went above and beyond to insure that I not only would have my massive medical bills paid for, but that I would also have compensation for my pain and suffering, lost wages and extra money to help with my life change. He was very personable and communicated with me about what to expect, the time line and fought for what I deserved. Russell was able to get me the full amount that was possible but without the pain and struggle of a trial and he got it for me in a timely manner. This timely manner was a big deal for me as I maxed out all my credit cards and had no wages coming in due to the accident. He sent faxes to my outstanding bills and stayed on top of things like contacting my lien companies and insurance companies to keep the ball rolling so my case would not be held up. He made sure to communicate with me so I knew what was going on and was available for consultation when necessary so I did not feel alone and scared. A life changing accident like mine was one of the worst things that could happen to me and my foot will never be the same. This tragic accident was a terrible storm and very hard to get through and my life and health is forever changed. Working with Russell however brought a rainbow after the storm and a brighter future than I ever thought I would find from such a tragic accident.

I found Jim by accident while "googling" "NM ski laws". The firm name showed up on a document explaining what I had "googled". I also asked an attorney friend of mine for a recommendation. I talked to each of the 3 names I was given. One said I needed someone with much experience in ski law and the other two were not impressive. So, I contacted Jim Chalat and from our first conversation, I knew he was the one to represent my wife. He was very familiar with NM ski law even though from the beginning he told us that he could not go to court in NM but would direct the case with a local attorney of his choosing. We engaged him to represent my wife and we were very pleased with his expertise in skiing, knowledge of NM ski law and in negotiating with the potential defendants insurance company. He was up front with us every step of the way. He got us what we thought was a reasonable recovery given that my wife decided that she did not want to go to court. We hope never to need his services again but would not hesitate to engage him in the future should the need arise.

I fell down my stairs in 2008. They were built incorrectly and not up to code. I sustained a neck injury and had to have surgery on my neck. I retained an attorney that I thought was going to help me but she didn't. I was very frustrated and disappointed so I did some research. I researched and contacted several attorneys in
Denver that handled slip and fall cases but was not satisfied with the initial phone conversations or actual meetings.
In June of 2010, I found Mr. Koupal on the internet and was impressed with his profile and credentials. I contacted Chris and set up an appointment to meet with him. I found Chris to be very knowledgable, professional, confident and a man of intregrity. Chris agreed to take my case and also helped me handle the dismissal of my other attorney in a very positive and professional manner. From that point on, he proceeded to research, investigate and move forward with my case. He kept me well informed almost on a weekly basis for over a year. Chris always emailed me back or contacted me by phone regarding the progress of my case. As a result from the neck surgery, I had accquired many medical bills that totaled thousands of dollars. I felt confident and at ease knowing that he was doing everything he possibly could to resolve and settle my case. Chris knew that I didn't want to have to go to trial and worked very hard to make sure that we would avoid going to trial. He had his work cut out for him as the builder had vanished which made my case more difficult and challenging. When we first met David, he was quiet and unassuming. He was politely matter-of-fact as he explained the law to us, the "easier" bits of a lawsuit, and the difficulties that were sure to come in a case as complex as ours. He promised that he would do everything in his power to help our child, and then he set about to do just that.
There were so many issues, so many uphill battles that had to be fought and won. Each step of our case seemed fraught with peril. David even had to travel back to the state of origin to force production. David went above and beyond for us. Even when it was looking bleak, as it did at times, David reassured us that, no matter what, he was all in.
When it came time for trial, David masterfully weaved the threads of a broken, fragmented, tangled mess of chaos into a clear and powerful portrait of what happened to our child and why. Every question was answered. He fought for her. He advocated for her when no one else would even try. And he won.
There are no words that could ever come close, no words that are big enough or grand enough or mighty enough to show just how grateful we are that Clark Kent just so happened to be at his desk one day, and just so happened to answer his phone.

I'm not one to write reviews, but Jay Reinan deserves one. Without going into details of my case, I'd like to commend Jay for his absolute grasp of fundamental legal issues, without the all-too-prevalent prescient grasp of potential clients' wallets.
