I called Patrick McPherson after a vehicle theft incident. I was immediate answered by Patrick and not a secretary or someone that had to put me on hold. I told him the situation and gave him the details, he never once made me feel stupid and explained in an easily understandable what to do. He assisted me in reaching out to the police officers and I ended up getting my vehicle back the same day. He also gave me advice on what to do with my insurance and how to handle the situation. Patrick made the process as simple and possible, helped greatly, and made a very stressful day a lot better. I would recommend this lawyer/law firm to anyone living in Oahu, Easily 5 stars.

I contacted Mr. Parsons about a medical malpractice matter and doing so was invaluable. Initially, I left a message and not only did he personally call me back promptly, but he then walked me through all of the legal issues that would arise under the circumstances. His counsel in that just that single call made it clear that I was dealing with a consummate professional. I cannot imagine going to any other attorney for a malpractice case.

Mr. Parsons provided expedient (we were under a severe time constraint) consultation service which analyzed and identified the issues involved in the claim. He was excellent in addressing both the highly emotional issues as well as the practical and legal issues. Mr. Parsons went beyond his formal attorney role and made himself available even after the representation was concluded.

I met with other estate lawyers and it felt like I was being rushed through a quick transaction with no meaningful connection to my situation. It felt like they were just checking the boxes to move on as quickly as possible. Until I meant Keoni. He took the time to understand our needs, our family, and us in general. Keoni guided us through the process, of which we had very little knowledge of. It was a long process but he gave clear guidance to help us do our part. The process of setting up a trust is just that, a process, and having someone who will take the time to sit, explain, answer questions, and then answer more questions as you go through the trust setup process is really important.
Keoni spent a lot of time with us, answering questions that came up along the way, gave us the guidance we needed to make sure we thought of everything and everyone involved. He was flexible is scheduling follow up meetings, due to our very hectic work & travel schedules, it took a few weeks longer then planned, but we are not done and feel better knowing we are on the right track.

Jim Bickerton treats his clients like trash. I was one of them but left due to the unprofessional conduct of that firm. Bickerton and Robert Miyashita must always have "client control" which includes preventing the client from knowing what's going on with the case, not providing the pleadings and not allowing the client to have ANY say in their own lawsuit. But the client has a right to know and a right to make decisions under the rules of professional ethics governed by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel. Do yourself a huge favor and shop around where the arrogancy can't be cut with a knife.

Very unfair and unprofessional people! Mr Rego told me he would take on my WC case two months ago but I would have to advocate for myself and once I did the things he told me to do give him a call back. Well I did just that today and he decided to say he never told me he would take my case in July, August or September… huh??? What are you talking about…? He said his notes say he would give me advice not take my case. Guess what this was a lesson well learned Moving forward everything must be in writing because this made absolutely no sense!!! Along with he raising his voice and wouldn’t allow me to speak and telling him what I wrote down when we spoke 2 months ago.

Joe Kotowski represented me in court after I was involved in a traffic accident. Some guy was driving in front of me at less than 5mph so I signaled to pass him on the left, proceeded and he made an illegal u-turn in the middle of the road without a signal so we collided. Both of our insurance companies concluded that he was liable for the accident , yet he still tried to sue me in court. Joe Kotowski helped me in court in an extremely professional and friendly manner. Any question or concern that I had was immediately answered by him and we won the case in court easily. Hired Joseph Rosenbaum and Elizabeth Jubin Fujiwara March 2019. Joe wrote an ADA demand letter to my former employer. Company responded harshly -- admonishing Joe for failing to act ethically. In sports terminology, employer attorney "dunked on him." Joe did not "zealously defend" me. Felt he let employer push us around. Appealed to Elizabeth Fujiwara, as she is senior partner. She not only refused to assist -- claims she is mediator -- instead kicked me out of their firm and threw ALL my money back at me against my objections.
Elizabeth and Joe left me in WORSE position than when I started. They walked way from me after having a "frank discussion" as HI Disciplinary Board advises. I simply offered what I believed was a winnable strategy. Ended up having to write my own complaint to Hawai'i Civil Rights Commission. They filed a charge against my former employer, but pro se isn't effective.
Now, four years later, HCRC provided right to sue letter. Reached out to Joe for clarification. He's a kind man; smart and talented. That's the reason I hired him in the first place. We had a positive, productive conversation. Thought it would be a good opportunity to mend our relationship. Asked if he would like to represent me going forward. I was able to save a significant amount of money and could fund our action. Nope! They refused my request.
Firm is still angry with me for speaking up. Much retaliation in Hawai'i. Small population, not much competition. It appears if you speak up for yourself, you're out in Honolulu. Go along if you want to get along.

When you're dealing with things like DV and custody, the last thing you need is to be used and abused by your lawyer/firm, someone who is supposed to advocate for and care about you.
I was with this firm for about a year. I was forced to switch to 3 different lawyers and was charged each time. DO NOT go with this firm. The first lawyer I had was so cold and gave bad legal advice that ended up screwing up my case. I was with the second lawyer for about a month before they switched me again. Again, I was charged each time for each new lawyer to review my case and to meet with them to catch them up. It was traumatizing because I'm going through a custody battle and DV case so each time I had to explain again about how my soon to be ex-husband is abusing and has abused me and my children. I've also been charged even when THEY had to reschedule a meeting. It was unreal. They called me a couple hours prior and I graciously agreed. Thankfully I watched the bills because they had the nerve to charge me for that call. It seems like they are very scattered, unorganized and greedy. I acknowledge that lawyers deserve to be paid but they absolutely went too far.
One of my lawyers I had literally called me the wrong name in court multiple times. One time mispronouncing it and one time calling me someone else's name entirely. It was humiliating. She also filed papers from someone else's case with my case papers. It was a nightmare! I'm so thankful I left and I now have a lawyer who genuinely cares.

I wish I could provide higher than a five-star rating for Nathan. He is an exceptional lawyer. My family spent 3 years wrapped up with another law firm, caught in an administrative stalemate. I called around to find different lawyers (made 7 separate phone calls). Only 3 law firms called me back, and 2 of them wanted to charge exorbitant rates for what we needed. Nathan called back quickly and provided a detailed, step-by-step explanation of what was needed to complete our property conveyance and handle back taxes/administrative filing. He even encouraged us to take the necessary steps ourselves if we felt comfortable. Nathan took on our case, even though other firms told us it wasn't worth their time - in addition, Nathan handled this work promptly, professionally, and with a great sense of humor and patience. I did no hire Megan to be upfront, and I've worked with just shy of a dozen attorneys in my life for everything from business to litigation, medical and civil rights, estate and housing, TM & Copyrights. But this situation (Only in Hawaii, HA!) I found myself at a brick wall sort of situation with serious conflicts and was actually afraid. Megan and her staff were very professional when questioning me regarding an incident a friend of mine was involved in. The were quick to respond, always upfront with what was going on in court. Even briefed the family and friends in the courtroom regarding the procedural steps in a trial. It's not like TV and she made it easy to understand. She was caring and answered questions.
