In 2012, my husband and I were in a bad car accident that landed us in a level-1 trauma center in Minneapolis. Only a few hours after arriving I received a call from my nephew, a prominent lawyer in Philadelphia (PA), who instructed me not to speak with any lawyers until he found me "the best" in the Cities -- and he was true to his word. John Dornik came highly recommended and has certainly lived up to his reputation. Not only did John prove himself to be a deft negotiator with a masterful grasp of injury law, he is a warm and compassionate human being who never thought twice about making himself available to help us navigate the endless medical and disability forms, or to simply offer a word of encouragement or advice. It is no understatement to say that I'm not sure what we would have done without him!
And when it came to negotiating the settlement, he made sure we understood the process and that he had a clear idea of our goals. With the insurance company, he was firm and reasoned.

I had been Involved in a personal injury case that had drug out for about 2 years. I was supposedly being "represented " by a lawyer hired by Liberty Mutual. This other lawyer gave me release to sign that would entitle me to $548 and Liberty Mutual would gain $24,452.
I knew something wasn't right and I started to call a few lawyers to see if they could give me advice or help me determine what to do. After contacting two other lawyers that wouldn't even look at my documents, I came accross Mr. Lavoie.
Ben took the time first to listen, then read through my documents. He eased my anxieties and lowered my stress levels instantly. He assured me he would do absolutely everything he could do for me. I quickly found my self doing something I thought I would never do...."Trust a Lawyer!" Within a few short weeks, he settled my case for $5400, and even lowered his fees so I received even more money in my pocket.

Our case was a complex Workers Compensation case, which was initially filed in the state of Indiana, since my husband worked for an over the road trucking company based out of Indiana. We reside in Minnesota and the injury occured in Colorado. From what I had read, the case could be transferred to Minnesota. I called several attorneys and Ben Lavoie was the only one who took the time to look at the case and have it filed in Minnesota for us. From that point on, we never felt like we were alone in the complex, drawnout Workers Compensation system. My husband's case took several years to finalize and yet Ben never got discouraged or let us get discouraged. He helped us obtain a very fair settlement for both future lost wages and future medical expenses. I have recommended Ben to a few people already and would do so for anyone in need of an attorney within Ben's practice areas. I would recommend to someone who was smart and has the wisdom to know how to be a voice for themselves, I was not aggressive enough and i feel my relationship with Paul seemed to be disconnected and strained and I am quite sure it was due to my lack of what to do.. I often cried after a phone conversations. i felt i was not the client that a lawyer would hope for. And although i lost more then this was all worth, .. I believe Paul could move mountains for you , And it is important you are on his level, understanding at his level, and lift yourself to the level he believes you to be !
i was too uneducated and quickly became lost and defeated .... . . As for my case, I lost and now have been sued for the surgeons legal costs,, "" So this has actually taken the wind out of my sails left me one step away from homeless,( losing the case has , not Paul )
I wish Paul the very best and i am sorry i was not more assertive to help him help me in what was a undeniable winning case.
