Luke came to my defense in an aggravated burglary charge, not only was he very responsive he kept my family informed about what was happening now and what was more than likely going to happen while I was incarcerated. On the day of my preliminary hearing he was able to get all my charges dropped without having to spend any more time in jail.Thats exactly what he told me and my family he would do. Luke is trustworthy and reasonably priced and I would reccomend him to anyone in the upper cumberland area who has charges pending.

Jason drew up a complete set of estate planning documents for my grandmother. He answered all of her questions and explained to her how the documents would uphold her wishes in different situations. It took a lot of worry off of her, and he charged her a fraction of what other lawyers quoted her. We were both very impressed with him.

Due to the sudden loss of my mother-in-law, Jason F. Hicks handled a conservatorship matter for us concerning my sister-in-law, whom is a mentally handicapped disabled individual. This was our first legal matter we had ever been engaged with on a personal level, so for us this was a big deal for our family. Jason's communication with us was great, and his expertise was spot on! Anyone looking for a lawyer should most certainly consider Jason F, Hicks for their legal needs!

Ken worked with me on a separation agreement with an independent sales representative. His counsel was clear and I believe helped me to construct a document that made what is sometimes a difficult transition smooth, relatively easy and most importantly no additional legal cost or jeopardy. On other occasions applying to employment law and non-compete language I have found his counsel to be quick and to the point in terms that I could understand and act on

Mr. Willaims was very helpful in sending to the county court paper work/transcript from the Federal Court and wrote a letter stating why this case should not be heard again due to the federal ruling. Shortly thereafter we received a letter from Mr. Willaims that the case was over. After many months of aggrevation, we could now go about our normal lives. We told Mr. Williams what was going on, and he kept us informed through the whole process, and he copied us on everything that was sent to the county court. Our family would recommend Mr. Williams to anyone.

I had an existing business contract that was between family members and non family members.Original contract was kind of thrown together quickly without council and in doing so problems soon arose. With having family members being involved on both sides feelings and emotions can become an issue if not careful. Cynthia recognized this from the onset and carefully walked us through the entire restructuring process where in the end both sides were satisfied. We now have a clear contract that has taken undue pressure off both sides. I am very happy to have found Cynthia and she was a true pleasure to work with. Would highly recommend her services.

They put the safety of my son first and formost. They were professional and thorough. He faught passionately for us in the courtroom. When a situation arose where my case might be moved to another county, he had me prepare for it mths in advance, just in case. His fees were more than reasonable. I can't think of a situation that I wouldn't be comfortable recommending him for. My son still enjoys safety today as a result of this mans quick actions.

Mr Graves is an excellent lawyer. I was hit head on while driving on a divided highway by a driver going the wrong way. His price was beyond fair, and he treated me and mine like family. My son was in a horrible automobile accident last year. He was hit head on by another vehicle. My son had numerous surgeries and therapy. His injuries will cause him pain for the rest of his life. Unfortunately the party at fault did not have much insurance coverage and this presented concerns - particularly because of his future medical needs. My wife and I were 100% focused on our son and did not want to deal with lawyers. I have had many dealings with attorneys - business related - over the years, and to be honest I have found the negative connotation associated with the profession is usually well deserved. However with these circumstances, I started researching attorneys. I started noticing the multitude of billboards advertising Bob getting 14M and Sheila getting 8M, etc. I also felt confident, that for every billboard I saw touting multi million dollar settlements, there were undoubtlely a majority of clients that received settlements for a fraction of that. I used to play golf...If I were to post my golf scores, I'd post me shooting 67, 70, 74 etc. In fact I have shot scores like that, 5-6 times. However my normal scores - over many years of playing - were usually in the high 80s or low 90s. I was looking for someone that had character. I wanted someone that would be concerned for my son. I took the lead for my son in the interview process and he is a college student and by nature naive. I did many phone interviews and narrowed it down to a few attorneys for my son and I to visit. We found 2 we both felt good about. I told both attorneys about the other and both were overly complimentary of the other. That spoke volumes. We hired "E". Let me say as confident as I was we had made the right decision, I was still concerned. I let E know my concerns from the start. He didn't lay on a pitch; nor did he promise the moon. E did promise he would stay in contact constantly, and that he would treat my son like he was his son (he has a son just a bit younger). E had this case settled in the time frame he had initially told us was the best case scenario; and for the amount of the best case scenario. He has stayed in contact, after the case was settled. He gave both my son and me his contact info and asked us to stay in touch. I'm not sure if this review is coming through as I intend. Let me make it clear: Do I recommend Edward M. Graves lll as an attorney? Yes - I could not offer a higher recomendation Why? E obviously has the skill set needed, he has the track record to prove that. However I feel confident there are a couple of other attorneys - at least one other - that have that skill set. What makes me happy that we chose to go with E is certainly his skill set, but his character and a man of his word is THE DIFFERENCE. I'm not saying the other attorney we considered doesn't have great character. What I am saying is I KNOW E has IT and I intend to stay in contact because there are not that many good guys around.

I had a very difficult case. I talked to 3 attorneys including one of the largest TV attorneys in the country. They all told me they could not help me. I then spoke to Mr. Graves, he did say it was a very difficult case but he felt we could win. With a lot of hard work the results were incredible, well above and beyond expectations. I have known Dana for many years and worked with her in a professional capacity before she became an attorney. She was always friendly and even requested my assistance professionally on occasion. I later needed her assistance in a legal matter and she never returned my phone call. She never even a called review the issue with me to determine whether I needed to take legal action. She just ignored my call altogether. I would not recommend her and I am glad she never called me back. Considering her lack of professional courtesy, I do not think she would have provided sound judgment in the matter.

Chaffin Title.. they suck. I spoke last Thursday with a man, Tyler said they were all leaving for lunch, but he said the check for Synchrony Bank. Care Credit was mailed on the 27th of August with all the other checks. So I said I was told 2 lies to my face by 2 different women there, the closing agent on August 23 and the woman I had to sign something they forgot on that following Tuesday, August 27 said checks either went out Friday or Monday, and he now says they went out the 27th. I spoke with several people at Care Credit, the check according to Tyler went to Post Office Box 71754 that is Synchrony general mail box, so no one knows where check is. IT SHOULD HAVE GONE TO POB 71715. I AM SO ANGRY, IT IS THE 12TH OF SEPTEMBER STILL NO PAY OFF. Spoke again to Tyler today, September 12, said they are short staffed, will stop payment on check and issue another to correct address. Again no time when this $4583.65 check will be mailed out. Because their short staffed.

I wish I would have known of this site & had seen the review from someone else May 2021. EXTREMELY disappointed with this lawyer and his lack of assistance as Veterans Benefits Aid Counsel. We received a "positive" opinion, which required payment, May 2022. After the VA Department requested more information in Nov 2022, we were advised by Mr. Fincher's associates, that no additional forms nor more information was required of us. Subsequently, our claim was DENIED by Veterans Affair Department Feb. 2023. Numerous phone calls and emails have not been returned by Mr. Fincher or his associates to find out what additional assistance they would be providing to jump through the VA "hoops" or to appeal. The conclusion we have drawn is he cashed the check and that was it. He and his teams lack of service or response has been extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend him at all.

He knew that I was going through something and should have not been in court during this process. He charged me 3 times. H e was for the other party. Our last time in court he made the decision even though I said no. Now the other person is bragging that they got everything. I am going to contact the TV stations. Things that I was suppose to get through the process still have not been done. But the other party can do a civil suit on me. This has to do with mental illness. I called about something else last week and he told me to contact the other parties lawyer which would not talk to me. This is why women and girls does not rely on anyone. Domestic violence was involved and nothing happened. The party got by it. Do not be surprised when the TV stations contact you.

We hired Mullins for a civil case. He filed our case in the wrong court. Then 4 months later filed in correct court. In that time frame we get sued by the plaintiff. Mullins canceled most of our appointments. He would rarely return phone calls. Even when other attorneys tried to call him. He is the most incompetent/illiterate excuse of an attorney we have ever seen. He has no business practicing law. At one point he did not know if we were the defendants or the plaintiffs. He likes playing god with peoples lives. And has no care in the world about his clients. He did nothing but mess our whole case up.(We have spoken to other attorneys) Mullins will do nothing for you. But he will want money! When we released him of his duties. He handed us our case paperwork, and what a joke that was.( It was just duplicates of papers) You can tell most of the papers have never been touched or separated. In 1.5 years he destroyed our case. He has been reported to the bar. Buyer beware. He would not make a good dump truck driver. He’s a CROOK! If you have questions for him, You’ll have more questions when you leave. But he can talk about the ducks on his walls. Find yourself a REAL attorney. If in doubt just ask around about him. Ask other attorneys they know all about him. And also check complaints filed with the Bar association. ZERO STARS GIVEN. I only put 1 star because I had to!

What a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Do for You

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
