After getting myself into serious enough trouble that it could have derailed my life, I couldn't be happier or more relieved after Mr. Grady Smith handled my case. After speaking with Mr. Morrell about my case, he recommended Mr. Smith as he was the most familiar with my local law enforcement and it certainly worked in my favor. I was reached out to last week via email due to six years ago I retained this firm, and they told me Mr. Howard was retiring and they needed to clear their books. Chris offered to release vague documents to me and let me figure out the rest, but that’s not what I hired this firm for either. Also, Chris told me that a certain healthcare provider wasn’t her favorite to deal with, but that’s a professional excuse to not get things done in my respectful opinion and I wouldn’t ever detail to a client that any organization is not my favorite because that is irrelevant. So, Mr. Howard called me last week and said his wife is the CFO and they are trying to figure out everything, while noting in 7-10 days something should be learned in more detail. Yet, was a plan detailed to me of what steps we’re going to be taken to figure it out beyond someone was going to look at the file, not at all. Have I tried to call their office while their answering service has only taken messages with no further call backs, yes. Again, per Chris, Mr. Howard is retiring at the end of the year and I’ve not heard or seen any formal plans as to how they’re going to get this right for me and/or even on what days they’ve reached out to companies that I provided their office the phone numbers for per my interests, etc. It is quite sad that this is the level of professional treatment that I’ve reached, and they made money to get it right but here I sit in wonder six years later as to what is what overall. While Mr. Howard called me to apologize last week, any apology without results and/or time stamped details of what is being done out of protection to my interests is respectfully lacking thorough professionalism in my opinion. Decently nice people personally, but I’m a results oriented businessman and their books should have been figured out six years ago for this situation. An annual audit by their organization, while having my email address to reach me would have solved these issues long ago. Although, here I am in limbo with no further communication and only an answering service telling me that nobody is available to speak with.

We Hired T Scott Jones to help with an incident that happened to my daughter that the results could have been very life changing and facing prison time. The incident seemed to be one sided due to my daughter being out of county. Scott gave hope to our family when our options appeared limited. He was very thorough and competent professional who always had my daughters best interest in mind. He would not hesitate to tell her what was best for her. He was very personable and caring, We were always informed and always felt she was in good hands. Mr. Houston bent over backwards for me in giving advice when I handled my case pro se. He did advise me that I would be at a disadvantage by going pro se and that I should seek legal counsel. After I explained that this was not possible due to my finances, he immediately started sending me links to click on and view TN court rules of civil evidence. I'm not sure why he was so very fourth coming with help, but he was!! I owe him BIG TIME!! I really feel this is an attorney who will look toward doing the right thing for his client and not about padding his wallet!! I was able to settle my case on the court house steps. If I had not filed the lawsuit I don't believe this settlement would have ever happened. GOD BLESS Mr. Houston!!

Ben is an excellent litigator. I hired him to represent me for several post judgment motions filed by my ex after the divorce. Ben won every single motion!! Be also won my appeal before the Tennessee Court of Appeals.

Robert and Alysha are great and accomplished what a lot of people told me was almost impossible. I sold a car a few years ago and the person never registered the car and had an accident while it was still registered under me. Almost a year later I find of that my license was revoked. I didn't have proof that I had sold the car. I had over ten thousand dollars in damages that i would have to pay before getting my license back. They got everything cleaned up and I was able to get my license back. Thank you so much!!!!

The closing of an estate in TN while living quite a distance away and having no experience with the process made me very fearful. Went to the internet for help and selected “Family Law Practice of David A. Montgomery”. Glad I did. I was panicking on the first phone call to David but his kind calm manner and patience put me at ease right away. Plus, I only had to travel 2 times throughout the year of closing. The second trip would not have been needed but there was a difficult bank. David’s guidance made my job as executor easy and stress free. He was very quick to answer emails. When my husband and I needed some estate planning and probate work done, we searched the internet and came up with David Montgomery. We went to our first meeting with high hopes of finding the right person who would understand our needs, address our concerns, and protect our interests all while charging a fair price. David has not only fulfilled our hopes, but exceeded our expectations. My husband has worked with more than 20 attorneys over the years and his biggest complaint has always been the responsiveness he has gotten. That is not the case with David. He might not have the answer right away, but he gets back to you in an expected amount of time and keeps you informed of his findings. That is huge to us! Our estate planning was not easy, but David dug deep with his research and, after every stone was turned, offered us the options he thought were best and we could not have agreed more. During probate, he exhibited professional and knowledgeable experience and knew how to interact effectively with the judge and other attorneys to get the best possible outcome for everyone involved, not just us.
We feel that David's high morals and strong Christian beliefs are lived out in his daily practice and makes him our first choice for an attorney. Because of our confidence in David, even though our estate and probate work is done, we have decided to keep him on as our general counsel for our personal business matters and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Before you hire Jerrold L. Becker from this firm, you should understand what type of "attorney" he is.
In a recorded phone call conversation from our past "attorneys" Paul Wehmeier/Kim Burnette, Becker informed them his client was accusing my husband of answering our front door with gun raised at his clients acquaintance. If that was the case, husband would have been arrested as acquaintance was unarmed. As my husband told Paul/Kim the interaction was recorded as we RECORD everything (including 10 minutes before showing acquaintance on his clients property before coming to ours). Husband wasn't even home, my recording clearly shows acquaintance walking behind our house and me from our top deck asking them to leave-no weapon drawn thus this LIE could not be legally processed. This is just one of several questionable actions generated by Jerrold L. Becker intended to make us spend more on attorney fees.
Take our advise: Record everything with this firm as it will save you aggravation and money.

Although most of us never desire to need a lawyer, from time to time in our lives, it becomes necessary. Over the last year, I've needed a lawyer for two different situations that I faced in my life. Luke handled both cases for me. He is extremely competent and professional and also kept me up-to-date on any developments in my cases. He responds to emails and phone calls promptly. Recently, he needed to contact me during my work hours to expedite the conclusion of my case. Because I leave my cell phone in my purse on silent while I'm working, I did not hear his phone calls or see his email message. Previous reviews speak volumes of this man's skills and concern for cases he upholds. He has turned a bleak and dreary, nearly irredeemable case into a hopeful, salvageable one.
Without going into too many details, I had to change attorneys and dump their mess onto Luke's shoulders. He had very little time to make adjustments and to absorb the case. This did not deter mister Durham. He took it upon himself to visit places handfuls of hundreds of miles away (out of state) so that he could 'paint a picture' and get the information he needed.
He did the work you would expect a phenomenal attorney to do. No stone was left unturned, no possibilities or options had gone unconsidered. He did his absolute best, and hardest work for me. My best interests were - and still are - in his heart. This is why he is my attorney, and why he should also be yours.

My divorce experience was a long, painful nightmare using two different attorneys. While I recognized the need for extra time due to the pandemic and court closures, my first attorney failed to respond to any type of communication. Phone calls were useless and it took me 5 email attempts to get even one response. My second attorney was more responsive to my communication, however, slow to make any moves. We ended up in court in front of a judge which was a stressful and unnecessary ending to an already irritating process. I swear my divorce could've been completed in 30 days had I have had a supportive team behind me.
Fast forward to the need to relocate out of state (like across the country out of state) with my two children and I knew I needed to find better representation. Someone who was truly prepared to fight for me as I knew it wouldn't be easy. John was recommended to me in the middle of my divorce by several people, but at that point it was too late in the case. I knew that he would be the person to turn to when it came time for this next fight because of the successful outcomes of the recommending parties.
John did not disappoint. His responses were prompt and full of useful information. He kept me informed of the process, deadlines and delays. He had a plan mapped out for me right away and made sure I understood what I needed to do in order to move the process along. He was familiar with the laws, gave me his expert opinion on what to do legally once I had moved out of state and helped me through a surprisingly quick and painless mediation process. I'm writing this after my cross country move that went off without a hitch truly thanks to John's expertise, professionalism and solid work ethic.
I would recommend him 1,000,000 times over to anyone who is looking for an attorney. I honestly don't think you can find anyone better.

If I had three words to describe John Haines, it would be professional, knowledgeable and blunt. Divorce is always a sticky situation, but John navigated it like it was child's play. He's been doing this for a long time and if you think the retainer is too much to pay, it isn't. He chews gum and shoots from the hip. This does not mean he's cocky. He's just confident and that's what you need in a lawyer. Just listen to him, do what he tells you to do and it will be all over before you know it. He really isn't one of these sleazeball lawyers who is looking to overbill for every e-mail or call. I saw my ex's financials and he got billed 3-5 times a month. I never got a bill until the very end. He's there if you need him, but check your problem at the door to make sure you really need him. Divorce is emotional. He's not Dr. Phil. He's there to get you out of the predicament you're in and if it goes to court, fight for you. I appreciated his demeanor and when you hire him, you will too.
The work was exceptional, the price was fair, the stories were hilarious and I'd give him and the boys in the office 5 stars any day of the week. Outstanding work!

I heard about Jed through a family friend who also used him as her divorce attorney. So I figured I would have a consultation with him. After our consultation, I was VERY satisfied and knew that I wanted to hire him. This was back in 2018. He required the retainer, which was expected, and used that retainer towards the expenses. He was very professional, listened to my needs, had my sons best interest in mind, and maintained his integrity throughout my entire case. The owner of apartments that border my property was negligent in maintaining his trees. The trees posed a danger to my property, including my house. Mr. McClanahan did his homework by having The University of Tennessee extension agent come to my property and assess the danger of the trees. Then, armed with the evidence, sent a letter to the owner of the apartments. I had been requesting that the trees be cut for over six months, but within one week of Mr. McClanahan's action the dangerous trees were cut and removed!
