I hired Charlie for an OVI case, and from the outset it was clear that he is head and shoulders above any other lawyers I have dealt with. I contacted him (and hired him) a day before the initial hearing, and while he personally was not available that day due to pre-existing commitments, he sent another lawyer from his firm to cover.
From then forward he was personally available to me whenever I needed, and took the time to get me up to speed on what I could expect, he gathered information from me to get a clear understanding of the case, and kept me notified regularly as things progressed or as his office received additional information.
At my first hearing with Charlie, it was clear that he was well regarded by both the Judge and the district attorneys office... which made things go very smoothly. He was well versed in the law with regards to handling OVI cases, which gave me a level of confidence and comfort despite how stressful the situation was.

I have had Marty defend me twice now. I feel very confident in his skills as an attorney, and how he is very knowledgeable about the law. He knows when he can win it for you or not and is very honest with you. He got my OVI, which should have been an UOVI, but can't do much about it now and he got it reduced to something that can't be seen as an OVI offense. He is also now helping me with my traffic mistakes and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in the Ohio area.

I was looking at for sure jail time and the loss of my job and so much more, I was already on probation and was facing a probation violation and Jim dearie took my case and I didn't see a day in jail and only had to complete a class and the case was dismissed, I felt so alone and scared when I was in the court room until Jim took my case, he would show up full of confidence and I didn't even see the inside if a court room but for 5mins.. I was unjustly accused of a crime, and retained Mr. Rittgers as my defense attorney. I had never been in trouble in my life and was quite upset and nervous. Charlie walked me through the process and assured me that I would come out fine. He kept me informed during the entire process and we won the case. I felt like he really was emotionally involved in my case, and that he was completely confident in our defense, which in turn, made me confident that the outcome would be favorable. We hired Charlie to represent our juvenile child who made a very poor decision that could have had a major negative impact on our child's life. Charlie was honest and straight forward with us and shared with our child how lives can be ruined by the wrong choices. For all of the parents out there that may face this awful time in your child's life, remember it's not just about hiring the best lawyer ( which we have no doubt Charlie is) but also taking action yourselves immediately with consequences, no car, counseling, etc. We breathed a big sigh of relief after court that day after months of a lot of stress. Doesn't answer questions so to understand your case. Lack of communication. Tells you without knowing WHY, or if something was wrong, when so close to go to court, he was planning on withdrawing from your case, yet takes your money for 2 years. Blindsided! Mr. Ernst and his staff are welcoming, God fearing people. A peace exudes over one as they step off of the elevator. This "Peace" I felt led me to an amazing outfit. Since hiring Dave, he has been very FOCUSED on the results of my matters. I have no qualms or complaints. He doesn't belittle you, he empowers you. Just the other day, I witnessed his paralegal share love in the form of a hug for a client they had helped successfully and it touched my heart. Again, I dont know who the lady was, but the love and caring shared by the members in this office is what I believe helps Dave to focus on the pertinent and important issues. I titled this focused representation because I always see the Staff there focused on making a positive difference in peoples lives. Not once have I heard negativity or an attitude. Hired him to represent me in a frivolous business lawsuit case. He demonstrated poor communication (approx. 30 non-responses for follow up). He also did not demonstrate any urgency with the court regarding my case. Filed a motion without my knowledge. I also had to look up status updates online to see where the case was in the legal system since he was unresponsive. He was very responsive after I replaced him with another lawyer. He also provided poor legal advice early in my case according to new legal representation. It appears he simply did not want to go to court based on the e-mails. My new lawyer is working to redo motions he has filed since they are incomplete (did not site any case law for our legal position). There was also no bond set in the event the plaintiff was incorrect in this matter. I highly recommend not using this lawyer for any business litigation. The cost to my business has been high.

Completely unhappy with his services. He is unresponsive and does not participate in client preparation whatsoever. I had to request multiple times to meet with him to discuss my case before our court dates. He did not file the proper paperwork before one of my hearings and told me it was my fault that he didn't because I didn't tell him to. Well, had I known that needed to happen and I needed to tell him, I would have. He was unprepared on my court date an had no credible knowledge towards the case he represented me in as the plaintiff. I actually ended up losing more than what I had to start with after my hearing. At the end of my dealings with him I was left with less than what I started with in addition to a +$5,500.00 bill. I strongly advise to steer clear of his services

I have worked with Mark Bogen in the context of a Defendant in his court (he is also a judge). Despite the fact that i was a defendant, and he was the judge who sometimes rendered a finding that was not in my favor (sent me to jail a couple of times), i must say that i this man is one of the most unbiased, unprejudiced, fair, and reasonable men that i have ever met.
I have also seen this man in action as a lawyer, and he is good. I would definitely recommend this man as a lawyer.
