” I hired Christopher Findlater to help me with a car accident issue that wasn't my fault. I was visiting from out of state when an incident occurred that left me in need of legal assistance. After reaching out to several area professionals and repeatedly being told that my situation didn't warrant their help, I was feeling hopeless. I decided to make one more attempt to seek aid and it was attorney Findlater who picked up the phone. I again told my story believing I'd be turned down, but he listened. Initially, Maryam seemed very convincing and helpful. My family and I approached her for assistance with a garnishment, and she repeatedly reassured us that it could be easily resolved. She even expressed a “strong feeling” that she could “get rid of this” for us. After encouraging us to pay her, we did so, but then she went silent for two weeks. In our growing concern, my family and I reached out to her for an update. She finally responded, telling us there was nothing she could do and that she was overwhelmed by the two calls and two text messages we had sent. She then sent an email stating that she was no longer taking the case and wished us the best of luck. We paid $1,200 for no service or resolution. Please be cautious when choosing someone to represent you—this experience felt like a marketing scam.

I had a consultation with Lee Bertlik to discuss a threat I received for a completely frivolous lawsuit. I wanted to explain the situation, bring all documentation, and get an honest assessment as to whether I should be concerned whether or not this meritless suit could potentially be a serious headache and attempt at just getting me to spend a lot of money for a case that would, no doubt, be dismissed.

I consulted with several lawyers regarding a defamation case filed against me, and Lee was the only one to throughly read and understand my case for the consultation. During the consult he was able to quickly explain the accusations and put my mind at ease with a few defense strategies right off the bat.
Lee worked quickly and was able to get it dismissed by dismantling the entire case through an email before things progressed beyond the initial complaint. In addition, he managed to seal the case from the public in order to protect my privacy.

An individual with a history of physiological issues; well-beknown to us; suddenly decided without cause to take to online websites and commit several acts of harassment, libel, slander, and defamation of several of our family members and their businesses. This individual shamelessly created countless fake online personas and launched a smear-campaign to hurt us with no provocation from us whatsoever.
I hired Lee Berlik and his partners to assist us with this complicated case spanning multiple states clear across the country and ultimately requiring filing of a lawsuit in US Federal court. Lee and his partners thwarted this individual's several failed attempts to evade process servers and brought the individual to justice. They managed to do so by working with a wide network of private detectives and process servers across the country, and after having done so successfully, subpoenaed web-hosting companies to bring the individual's nefarious online activity into light.
Through their continued counsel and strong understanding of the complicated federal/local legal systems, we were able to get the resolution we sought to include removal of the perpetrator's fake online posts about us and our businesses, and furthermore obtain protections above and beyond what the courts alone were willing to grant. We strongly recommend Lee Berlik and his partners to assist in all matters of civil litigations, especially those concerning online and digital offenses. Together, they were able to help us piece our lives together again after a painful emotional experience.

Robert Dain is the best lawyer in this area. He is a seasoned legal professional, experienced and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the law. Well respected in the courts, and held in high regard, Mr. Dain is fair and honest, humble -- all while committing himself to his clients' best interest in their case. I swiftly moved my divorce case to Mr. Dain after realizing my "family law" junior attorney was not making any traction, unfriendly and one who pandered to the OC. Mr. Dain is savvy and simply genuine. He had my best interest and that of my children at the forefront, in advocating for me. He had to work quickly to undo the former attorney's lack of detail for an upcoming deposition. It was amazing how quickly Mr. Dain got up to speed; asking all of the right questions, to my now ex-husband. We settled and did not go to court yet Mr. Dain was prepared in the event the opposing team would not cooperate. Most importantly in the interest of my children, we did not wish to subject them to that hostile environment. Robert (Bob) Dain and his partners at his firm handled my case (foreclosure resulting in subrogation claim filing Breach of Contract) in a professional manner and I didn't feel like he was 'riding the clock' so to speak on my case. EXPERIENCE MATTERS.... The plaintiff in my case was hoping for easy picking but Bob and his firm was able to blow it out of the water causing the Plaintiff Attorney to request a non-suit (Dismissal without Prejudice).
If you have a $90K problem you need a GOOD attorney and I would not hesitate to counsel Bob and his firm again for cases in Virginia.

Steve handled my high-pressure, high-profile divorce from start to finish from 2013 to 2014, as well as lingering issues in 2015, with complete professionalism, control, and finesse. Steve always kept me informed, never let me feel intimidated, let me read everything, incorporated my edits, and handled numerous explosive legal situations that were repeatedly lobbed at me. Let me emphasize – this was not an easy divorce, nor was it at an ideal time in my life, as I had only recently returned to the workforce after staying at home with my children for many years. But Steve has seen it all, and has excellent instincts. He’s not intimidated by anyone on the other side, but does not have to resort to bombast in order to accomplish what you need. His demeanor is quiet, yet very thoughtful, and I found that he is extremely well-regarded by all judges we went before as well as among his fellow attorneys and mediators, which is critically important.
Nothing about getting a divorce is easy – especially when there are kids involved and an unpredictable spouse who is taking a “scorched earth” approach toward your divorce. But when your life is falling apart, you HAVE to have someone on your side who can handle the legal chaos that can result. Steve did that for me and successfully negotiated what I needed for the future. A number of years ago, I hired Mr. Garver to represent me in my divorce, which included the legal service of filing a document on my behalf, about two pages in length, with the Fairfax County Circuit Court.
A few days afterwards, I phoned him and asked if he could please send me, for my own reference, a copy of this short document he had filed with the court for me. It was a document that could have been photocopied and faxed to me within a few minutes.
Mr. Garver reacted with mocking sarcastic irritation to my request, stating "Is it critical?" as if he were speaking to someone utterly beneath him. He then informed me that he was too busy that day to fax me a copy of this document. At that point, he did not tell me when I might expect to receive it.
Mr. Garver acknowledged that I had a right to receive a copy of this document from my case file. However, he would not give me a time frame for when I might expect him to fax it to me. I then asked him if he could confirm that he would be able to fax it to me the following day. But he would not confirm that either.
Since Mr. Garver was apparently too busy to fax a copy of this document to me that day, and also would not provide some reasonable assurance that he would fax it to me the following day, I asked him by what day I could expect to receive it.
Even then he still would not provide me with a firm date by which I could expect him to fax me a copy of this document. That is how our phone conversation ended with regard to a simple request to receive a copy of this short document from my file. I did not appreciate his evasiveness when I asked him for a simple estimate of how long it would take him to get around to faxing me a two-page document.
I faxed Mr. Garver a letter soon afterwards, notifying him that I no longer wanted him as my attorney because of this behavior and requesting a refund of any unused portion of my retainer. It took him about one month to provide this refund, after I followed up with him about it. Shortly after I notified him that I no longer wanted him as my attorney, he did then manage to fax me a copy of that document.

I would not recommend Steven Garver, very disappointed.
I hired him and then decided to go with another lawyer who is more specialized in criminal defense. It happened a week after I paid him, so he didn’t do anything yet. When I asked for my money back, Mr.Garver said he’ll refund some, not all of it. Couple weeks later he sent me a check for half of what I paid. Very unprofessional. Stay away
