Ms. Winters helped us with our estate planning, a task that we had put off for too long. Hired Jonathan to transfer my business from OR to NC. He was able to do it quickly and dissolve the LLC in OR. The NC govt sites arent much help in telling how to do this exactly but I am sure they would be all up your butt if you did it wrong......so glad Jonathan was able to do this for me.

Having a local attorney refer me to Rex said a great deal about Rex's reputation in the community. He is well liked and as professional as they come. Upon hiring Rex, I was immediately impressed by how polite and well spoken he was. His true excellence was in the court room when he defended our company as if it was his own. You could tell that Rex was not viewed your stereotypical lawyer. The judge appreciated the forward, level headed (not animated) tone that Rex took when defending us. I engaged Jim after a major investment firm froze all of my father’s assets, and subsequently the assets that I had with the firm as well. At 100 years of age my father had finally begun to succumb to a number of health issues. With diminished capacity as well as significant memory issues, he was declared incompetent. It was a very tough time for the family as you can imagine. My father had a revocable trust in place, and had removed the major investment firm as successor trustee the year before. The investment firm chose to ignore the provisions of the trust, and was not only cavalier about their actions but became virtually non-responsive. Jim engaged directly with the firm’s General Counsel and very appropriately got straight to the matter. Jim also engaged other members of his firm to assist, Christian Perrin specifically, and together they provided our family with excellent counsel and resolved all matters. The investment firm made things very complicated, but Jim resolved matters within 45 days. Jim’s approach was measured and extremely professional. His firm operates as a team, and we felt extremely well represented. Another member of the family is now likely to use their services for estate planning as well. I highly recommend Jim and the firm.

My family and I called on Jim 5 years ago to assist us in entering into a Guardianship for our brother, who was deemed medically and legally an Incompetent. Jim's knowledge of the State Guardianship laws, coupled with his excellent preparation of the case, took us through Mediation and final Court hearing with all considerations to the best interests of our brother.

Joel decided to take my $250 consultation fee to get on the phone with me and tell me he couldn’t help me nor was he familiar with the area of law I was needed help in. His information was recommended to me off the MeckBar site for the issue I needed. I sent my requested paperwork in on 8/13 and Instead of emailing me saying “Hey I can’t help with the area you need” he opted to ask me to do paid phone consultation 48 hours later for $250. Immediately upon our phone call he tells me he’s not familiar with the area of law nor would he know a defense. I asked if I would then get a refund for the consultation or lack there of. He said no.
