I hired Mr. Marc Howard Weissman. All I had was a written will, leaving me as the legal heir of his estate; and even though I was not his family member, and this Will was not professionally written, He was still able to manage to intercede on my behalf, so that the Judge could recognize me to be the legal heir of his estate. Jayson Wolfe and his legal assistant Donna are the absolute best legal team and the one that you need to navigate the complex world of elder care law. Before meeting Jayson and Donna, I attempted contact with two other attorneys to discuss my case, which involved getting my 97-year-old aunt approved for Medicaid and in-home care.
The first attorney I tried contacting came well recommended but proved to be impossible to reach, as she never returned phone calls or responded to email messages. The other attorney I chose did have an initial consultation with me by video call, but when it came time to hire him, he suddenly stated that he was too busy to take on my case.
I called Jayson’s office feeling overwhelmed, and Donna answered the phone. She was able to schedule an appointment to meet with Jayson within a day. We sat together for an initial meeting that lasted over 90 minutes, during which he answered all of my questions (as I had a lot of them). Within the first 5-10 minutes, I knew that Jayson Wolfe would be the attorney I would hire. Here is what he and his team did for me:
• Advised me on the financial transactions that I needed to execute immediately in advance to prepare my aunt to qualify for Medicaid
• Walked me through the process of obtaining an irrevocable burial trust for my aunt
• Completed and submitted the paperwork needed to obtain certification of my aunt’s disability
• Set up an account with a pooled trust to allow my aunt to qualify for Medicaid
• Obtained approval for Medicaid in-home care for my aunt
• Advised me on the in-home evaluation process
• Fought to get me a new placement with a different MLTC (despite me ignoring his initial recommendation) which led to me getting my aunt qualified for a full-time live-in aide
All of the above was done for a fixed retainer, saving thousands of dollars.
While the above speaks to his competence as an elder law attorney, there is much more to know that explains why Jayson and his team are the best:
• Jayson and Donna are kind, caring, and compassionate people who fight for their clients
• They treat you like a human being and even more – they treat you like family
• They understand the need for communication and are always calling, texting, emailing to keep in touch
• They recognize that the process of elder care law is complex and that you will have many questions along the way
• They return every call you make to them and answer all of your questions, even after the point at which their legal work is completed, and will never send you invoices to bill for those calls – which is unheard of in most law firms.

Furthermore, she will save over $10,000 a month from not needing to self-fund her in-home care.

Irwin Klein is truly a god send. I had a complex case that put me under a tremendous amount of pressure. Not only was he resourceful, understanding and patient, he was also thorough. After he completed my first case, i had a unrelated landlord tenant issue that he resolved effortlessly in the middle of a pandemic. Mr. Klein was recommended to me by a very good friend of mine. Unfortunately, it was after I had retained a lawyer for the purchase of my home. The previous lawyer (J. Bradford Kenealy) had not taken the time to thoroughly and competently review my contract. After I took the time to review the contract, I decided that I needed someone else to represent me. That is when, after sitting with Mr. Klein for over an hour, I retained Mr. Klein. I felt completely confident that if I were to be absent at closing that he could sign for me and I would be able to sleep at night knowing that all bases were covered.
My title for this review was based on his ability to rectify all that was wrong with my contract after it being fully executed by both parties. Mr. Klein spent days emailing and calling the sellers' attorney's office. all on the premise of having a forum at which to renegotiate the contract since there was an unfavorable appraisal. Where some may have given up and sent back the amended contract, he was very persistent in seeing it through despite the sellers' attorney's lack of communication skills. It was then that Mr. Klein was able to eradicate all my fears about moving forward. Which would have been extremely frustrating to be left in limbo just before you are about to leave the country for 2 weeks.
Even though I could go on with details of the transaction and paint a more favorable light for Mr. Klein, the best detail to leave behind is that I will never look for another counsel in matters which are legal.

I contacted Neal's office in 2014 to discuss concerns over my fathers estate. Made an appointment with Neal for a free consultation and decided after that meeting to retain Neal as my attorney. Took awhile to resolve my fathers estate which had nothing to do with Neal. Neal is very kind hearted and very supportive. Neal was always in touch with me as things developed. I never felt uninformed or lacking information. I couldn't ask for more from an attorney. I highly recommend Neal.

Ellen assisted my mother and I with estate planning, probate and 2 real estate deals. She helped clean up what another attorney left hanging so to speak, with a probate issue that involved a property and was able to handle everything as well as advise us on best practices given our situation, she was "down to earth" and easy to talk to. I found Ms. Richards to be highly unprofessional, highly unethical and highly prejudicial in the execution of my parent's estate.
In my opinion, resorting to threats and bullying in an attempt to intimidate a particular beneficiary is beneath the conduct you would otherwise expect from a member of the Bar Association.
To be clear, I was not "unhappy with my parent's estate", I was shocked by Ms. Richard's behavior.
Her handling of the estate relative to administration and advice given was deplorable, and in no way represented what my parents would have wanted. If you're in the market for an estate attorney that you can trust to do the right thing upon your passing, I recommend that you look elsewhere.
I would not have even given Ms. Richards a "1 star" review, but Google doesn't accept anything less.

Tried to make arrangements with Patricia Powis concerning LTC. Spoke to her initially with a response we will contact you. Did she contact you?
I got only one email stating that she was busy. Tried calling many times after that and still no response or follow up.
If she can't even do this then what kind of service would I expect? I don't recommend this lawyer.
There are plenty of good ones out there and she obliviously does not make a good impression.
Maybe she was good a few years back since her reviews are 3 years ago, but not now.

Of all the lawyers I’ve dealt with in my life Neil Flynn at Horn Wright, LLP is the only one who took the time to listen to everything I had to say and answer all my questions before even discussing how he would be paid. Once we laid the foundation for our attorney-client relationship, he gave me several options including a straight contingency fee, a retainer/hourly rate fee structure or a hybrid of the two.
