Where to start? How about the beginning... My wife and I started a family late in life and only now were financially able to purchase our first home together. Being a huge financial decision, we also decided it was time to create our wills should the unfortunate happen to one or both of us. We wanted to protect our survivor and our now 20-year-old child.
For months we surfed in the internet and asked various friends for advice, not necessarily asking them for referrals. This is our private business and we treated it as such. We wanted to make our own decisions, not be overly influenced by others. We happened to come upon GAWTP in Marietta and read up on them, doing some research at various professional online sites too. After comparing them to other possibilities, I decided to give them a call for a free consult. The administrative/office assistant, Rachel, was very pleasant, and seemed to appreciate my whacky self-deprecating sense of humor and we hit it off (good sign). She took down the necessary information and told me to expect a call from one of the firm's attorneys in the very near future.
Well, sure enough, within a day I was speaking to Amanda Riedling, WOW...!!! She just hit it out of the park. Unassuming, pleasant, cheerful, and eager. I like that last one best. She explained in not too boring detail (lol) what to expect and that was all it took. She just made these life decisions seem simple. She and her team would do the dirty work, all we had to do was supply them with various details. Done deal. I hired them.
We scheduled an online meeting and went over all the pertinent options clients, such as us, could face. We are far from being considered wealthy. Not on fixed income yet, but getting closer every day (lol). I was supplied with links to video tutorials on not only what to expect, but how to best make the decisions themselves. Wonderfully done! Kudos to Dawn.
We've since visited their office in downtown Marietta, signed our documents, had them witnessed, and actually enjoyed the entire process from start to finish. We even took our new puppy with us!
You'd think making these types of decisions would be rather agonizing and maybe stressful since they are about the end of life, however Amanda was so caring, sensitive to our needs, easy-going, so heartwarming, we just felt like we mattered. My wife and I made a great decision. You can too.

Since It had been 19 years since we had our wills, POAs, and ADs drawn up and in that time our attorney had retired and transferred our files, with our permission, to another attorney – we decided it was time to update our documents. Our only problem was the attorney that had our files was no longer in practice. A diligent search for a new law firm was begun and after reviewing numerous firms and their reviews, my wife and I chose Georgia Wills, Trusts, & Probate Law Firm LLC. It was a good choice. One phone call, identifying what we wanted to accomplish; a “Zoom” meeting introducing Amanda Riedling, Partner, to confirm our goals and another to review and confirm the contents of the draft documents she had presented so the final documents could be created, followed by a meeting at the office to sign the final documents. Amanda was great to work as were the other members of her team. They made you feel “at home” from the first phone call through the signing and beyond.

My sister died unexpectedly and without a will. We live in Pennsylvania and definitely needed legal help. After reviewing lawyers with top ratings in Cobb County, I contacted three lawyers by email. Steve Worrall responded in 2 hours. One of the other lawyers contacted me days later, and the third not at all. The initial contact was not just a legal one, but also one saying how sorry for our loss in a genuine way. Steve was able to meet with us and offer help during the limited time we could spend in Georgia. Once in Pennsylvania, any questions we had were responded to by Steve or Karen in a speedy manner. Having been involved last year in settling a relatives' estate with nothing more than a software generated, one-size-fits-all Will, we knew we wanted something more comprehensive than that for our Estate. Additionally, we needed a clear, objective comparison of Trusts vs Wills, and which would be the best fit for us. After attending some local attorneys' introductory/free-lunch seminars, we felt far more comfortable working with Steve Worrall at Georgia Estate Plan. Without a doubt we made the right choice. We could not have completed the complex process of generating an all-inclusive Estate Plan that addresses potential issues without Steve and Karen's guidance and expertise.

The issue I came to Amy for was guidance to set up a special needs trust for my sister. It was quite a bit complicated. Another attorney I went to before Amy did not even want to get involved with it. Amy is tenacious and determined to get it right. And she did! Tamar was my attorney that was given to me by the state of wa. For my cps case. She exceeded my expectations. She returned emails and phone calls and helped me out more than anyone else during the whole case even after she wasnt hired by the state she still would point me right direction and not only her but the entire law firm doesnt agree for the injustices that cps is involved with. I hit a very tough point in my life when we found out that a family member was taking advantage of our grandmother. My head was spinning cause we never expected something like this to happen within our family. Calling around to have initial consultations, I was treated as a billable expense, until I talked with Patricia. She gave me 3x the time on the initial consult then any other lawyer would.
After I consulted with the family and we all came to a decision that she would represent us, it became clear that she cared about us as a family versus an invoice. She went above and beyond always and did things for us that I doubt anyone else would have without a hefty bill. I consulted with Attorney Thompson about my parents estate in Long Island. At her suggestion, I provided her with a copy of the documents and a set of questions prior to my appointment. She was well prepared and thorough as she provided education and answered my questions. Jeremy Abernathy was referred to me by another attorney and I could not be happier with the outcome of my custody case. My case was a bit difficult and throughout the whole process, I always felt as if my sons livelihood and best interests came first. He fought tooth and nail for us and stuck to his guns both in and out of the courtroom. He is going to do what's best for you, your children, and your case to make sure you get the best possible outcome-and will do it in the most professional manner. He showed his expertise and at times if I was a bit difficult, he brought me back down, reassured me, and even prayed for me which I greatly appreciated. He explained everything to me and made sure I understood properly. He showed up to court very well-prepared, organized, well-spoken and professional but will also go toe to toe with aggressive opposing counsel or opposing parties if needed, and it made me feel as if he was really looking out for my son and I and fighting for what's right. Lisa Owen was my third attorney. What I thought was going to be an easy case, rapidly escalated to one of the worst experiences I have ever been through. A divorce. If everything is smooth and no issues at all, maybe any attorney will do. When things get nasty and everything is at stake, you want to be sure you have the right team behind you. I had to changed attorneys twice because I found out as things progressed, the case was beyond the level of competance for the current attorney. One of the attorneys had to withdraw from the case because she admitted it was beyond her abilities and experience. I wish I had saved all the wasted money and time with the first two.
All I wanted, was to know, that when we went to the mat "court", the team and person fighting for me, that I had total trust and faith in them. No matter the results, I wanted to know, they were the best. Lisa Owen was professional, 100% on her game, her team behind her including Natasha, Sarah, and several others, were always pushing and driving forward. Lisa actually scared me she is so good. Sharp, articulate, fast thinker, great debator, driven, witty, a total bad as#. She is a true bull dawg and exactly what you want if the case is something that truly matters. Lisa called me on her family vacation, pushed me non stop, she thought about things I never would have, I was in awe of her and her team the whole way through. She ran the show....She directed everything. she was in charge....and that is exactly what I wanted.
Yes, I paid a lot of money to hire someone of her caliber, but, I would have saved so much money if I have contacted her first. I am so thankful to my friend that I called who works in the legal system and asked for help and who was the best? I wish I had called her at the very beginning. My divorce was the worst event of my adult life. Far worse than I could have ever imagined. The emotional drain, the physical exhaution, the fear of what may happen. I am a Marietta native. I am a 25 year veteran in the mortgage industry, and unfortunately I help clients every month go through a divorce. There is usually a home and a mortgage to deal with. You want the best helping navigate these steps. I typically help one of them move out and buy a home, and the other, I help to refinance the mortgage into their name. It is a very structured and a very emotional process.
I never thought I would personally go through it myself. I now feel like I have a Ph'D in the mortgage/divorce space. I was going through this to settle my case, but also to learn as much as I could as to the logistics of all that can take place on the legal side. I was an apprentice watching one of the best in the industry, and paying very close attention, because I was the case being tried.

Skelton and Blackstone Attorneys helped my wife and me prepare our wills and advance directives. They carefully took us through all of the various decisions and helped us understand the ramifications of each. We left the office with complete documents which Skelton and Blackstone filed with the appropriate authorities. This gave my wife and me great peace of mind and actually did a lot to solidify our relationships as it showed how we would need to depend on each other in the event of an untimely passing. After researching companies that were successful in cases against HOA's I hired this firm 5 years ago. I asked if they could win and was told yes. February 2023 we had to agree to a settlement. In that 5 years we changed lawyers 5 times. I would call to find out what was happening and was always told that they were waiting on the HOA attorney and that's just the way this worked. I ended up paying this attorney more than if I had just paid the HOA fine. There is no real update from them, unless you call their monthly bill an update. The last attorney assigned did manage to get a settlement worked out. We took it because I was not going to drag this out another 5 years and 5 different attorneys.

This is a poor start. After speaking with the staff and an attorney with the John Miller and Associates Law Firm...
I paid the non-refundable fee, agreed to the initial date and time set by the staff and called 1 hour before the appointed time to confirm the appointment.
After the appointed time and 15 min before the close of business, I called the office and was informed that the attorney was not going to make the meeting.
Summary: the attorney did not display the expected professionalism and courtesy to take the time to call to me, and provide an apology and reschedule the meeting.
This is definitely a teachable moment for John Miller and his Associates...provide timely information to the clients and be more considerate of our time.

Mr. Dupee could be the poster boy for late night comedy hours and why not to hire a lawyer. He assured me that he had handled numerous cases similar to mine, that although he was expensive he was experienced and could get it settled quickly holding the cost down. It started like that and I was very pleased. Until he continued to prolong the matter with a series of mistakes including filing poorly written documents, missing filing dates by not following court instructions (he knew better than the judge), accepting incorrect information from opposing attorney, etc. His aggressive personality was an asset until it changed to arrogance. He seemed to have no respect for his coworkers or his colleagues (the mistakes were always their fault), the court or for me, his client. I was charged for work not done and work that had to be redone because of errors and on occasion, double charged for the same work. I discovered that he was withholding information and manipulating facts that would have resolved the issue immediately. It is unfortunate that he chose to prolong the case for his benefit and financial gain rather than fulfill his obligation and assurances to me. I would suggest that anyone looking for an attorney keep looking. Find someone trustworthy!!

I used Separk two or three times for a will, advice, and a civil matter. He was ok but always communicated clearly that you were to listen and be quiet, he knew what was best for you, not you. He is very arrogant and clearly communicates that he is superior to you, the client. I became involved in a criminal matter and went to him for advice, whereupon he raised his voice and told me I should know better than to come to him for advice on a legal matter such as this. He was very nasty and mean spirited, which shocked me, because I had an established relationship with him. I called him a few days later to ask for an explanation for his behavior, and he refused to speak with me.
