Having recently gone through a divorce and the death of a parent, I've had to get my financial house in order. Part of this is estate planning for myself and children. I could not be more satisfied with engaging in this process with Whitney. From the outset, Whitney clearly explained all angles I'd want to consider as we prepared my will and power of attorney documents. Her clear communication and attention to detail made all of this much easier. As a firm, Unruh, Turner, Burke, and Frees has helpful worksheets and booklets that detail the estate planning process. I easily understood what needed to be done on my end. Beyond that, scheduling appointments and dealing with a reschedule went very smoothly. The office experience itself was pleasant; I was treated with courtesy and enjoyed my tea and dark chocolate, as well as the historic building. I didn't think I would enjoy estate planning, but Whitney and her firm exceeded my expectations, and I actually did! Amy Steerman has been our attorney for over ten years. We met her through a number of members of our parish church. Our first contact was with the preparation of wills, health power of attorney and legal power of attorney for my partner and myself prior to our marriage. She helped us establish an irrevocable trust for both of us. As the years have passed she has helped update our wills.
When my brother was in the hospital in critical condition she came to the hospital and created a power of attorney for him. To ensure the validity of the power Amy had the attending Doctor sign as a witness. I say this to show that Amy is thorough in all of her processes. I had a very complicated ownership of a property with my two brothers. As they each passed away Amy assisted in determining the tax owed to the government in each case. She assisted in all the paperwork required by the government in their deaths. Later when we sold the property she assisted with the settlement (representing both buyer, who was a close friend of ours, and seller). She also assisted in determining the federal tax to be paid.
My father lived in Florida and as his health declined we decided that we needed an attorney in Florida to assist in legal situations. Amy researched and validated his credentials. We were very pleased with her recommendation.
We had a property in Philadelphia with a very difficult and combative tenant. When we decided to sell the property we asked Amy to represent us and handle the request for him to move as we did not want to have any contact with him. She gave him notice to move and informed him that he was not to contact us and any questions (of which there were many) be directed only to her. We were extremely pleased with a situation that we had been dreading for a number of years.
My partner was the executor of a will for a close friend. The will was extremely complicated involving the sale of a big property, funding a trust created by a bank, the distribution of funds to four individuals which included prepaying the inheritance tax for each person. Amy was indispensable in that process. In order to save some money and because it was not in Philadelphia but Montgomery County it was her opinion that he could process most of the requirements himself. When items such as the amount of tax for prepayment et cetera arose Amy provided the answers. She assisted in many other complicated and required procedures that filing a will requires. She recommended a tax accountant for preparing a tax report for the current year and several tax reports that were due in the several years to follow as well as the final tax report. Again, her referral was excellent.
Amy has a way of explaining legal issues clearly for the layperson and she is always available to answer a question. I want to add that she does not follow the practice of billing for 30-second increments and will talk and offer advice without billing for every event. We have recommended her to a number of close friends and without exception, they have been extremely pleased with her service.
We trust her without exception and to show this trust we have requested her to be the executrix of our wills. We highly recommend Amy Steerman.

Amy originally prepared our wills, livings wills and established an irrevocable trust for our daughter. We subsequently had her update our documents so as to keep them current. I was involved in a very lengthy divorce and custody battle. I had spent a fortune and had gotten nowhere. A friend referred me to Mr. Fenerty. I was amazed from our first telephone conversation. He completely understood my perspective and he also was able to explain my former spouse's take on things as well. He explained the legal stuff to me in a way I understood it and recommended that we try to calm things down. I was doubtful but I really trusted him. He took my case. He immediately called my spouse's attorney - who he knew (oh, it seems like this man knows everybody) and things changed immediately. We went to court a few times on the custody and the divorce and succeeded every time. I now am sharing custody of my kids and I feel like I did great in the divorce. Things have gotten better with my ex and I have never been happier. I ended up paying him much less than my prior attorney who accomplished so little. He is a really down to earth guy and he really seemed to care about my case.

I hired Michael to consult on a situation I found myself in with an attorney I hired to handle a debt collection resulting from the pandemic who let a default judgement happen and a second attorney I hired to resolve the situation. Michael was thorough, gave me sage advice, and was down to earth. Michael is unlike any other attorney that I've enountered in that he genuinely cares about his clients and is a good person, and demonstrated that each time we spoke. He was a bright light in a dark situation and I would highly recommend him to anyone. I hope to never need representation again, but if I do, he will be my first call.

Michael Fineman was the worst lawyer I’ve ever dealt with. He took my case without doing any research and charged me $2,000 for a preliminary hearing where he didn’t even need to show up—I waived it myself. Initially, he wanted to charge me $2,500 for that. Then, he charged me another $3,500 to “negotiate” a deal, but he did nothing. He pushed me to accept the first offer from the DA without even trying to negotiate the probation terms.
When I asked for a refund because I had to hire another lawyer for better advice, he offered me a measly $400 out of the $5,500 I paid him. This was after he disrespected me and suggested a partial refund only if I hired another lawyer.
To make matters worse, he made racist comments about Black people and Asians. So if you’re Black or Asian, do not hire him!!
This is the worst lawyer in the city. His representation is no better than a public defender’s, and honestly, I feel I would have been better off with a public defender. I’ll be letting everyone know how terrible his services are.

Oh how i wish this was a 5 star great experience like the others but unfortunately Mr.Ellis did not give 5 star service.Instead he charged me $3500 to go see my father (20 Min visit) who I explained to him was in need of a fighter (facing federal charges/Life) . These monies are non refundable and a 20 min visit for a case as big as this is certainly unacceptable.

An evil family member of a patient reported me to the State Board of Nursing in 2022 for negligence. I was concerned as I knew I rendered the best care to the patient and their family. A short Google search revealed Brian Quinn. He got back to me quickly, interviewed me thoroughly, and instructed me how to handle contact with anyone from the state board of nursing. David Walker and his office is definitely one of the best law firms in the city. I got pulled over for tinted windows cops did an illegal search after I gave all documents and found a gun in a bag. I was given $250,000.00 bail. Emily did an immediately bail hearing and got it reduce to $50,000.00 SOB. August 1 2024 David Walker got all charges dismiss @ first preliminary hearing. He represented me on 2 different cases. The first one he settled for peanuts. The second one I learned he was weak. I was rear ended with my car pushed into the middle of the intersection, by a girl texting her boyfriend rushing through the light. All of this I know because she mentioned it to the responding officer. He told I didn't sustain enough injury after I completed 5 months of therapy.
