My case involved 2 small children, both mentally challenged. He never kept me informed, filing motions and agreements that I had not seen nor agreed to. He failed to question the opposition when necessary. He allowed the opposing attorney to call names. He allowed me to be questioned about motions he filed that I did not know about... in the end, he literally told me to "just give them to her". (her, meaning the alcoholic, drug addict mother bound for prison with her 3rd felony). He could not have cared less about the children. He told me I was "behind the 8 ball because Leedy 'don't' like you". He was out of his league, incompetent, unknowledgeable and lazy. Everything he and his secretary did or told me was wrong and detrimental to the children and he finally just withdrew, leaving the children twisting in the wind... in the middle of the case! His closing argument for the ONE hearing we got to have was... "uh, uh... ummmm... I guess I don't have anything to say". Good riddance... keep looking if you are looking for an GOOD attorney.

Mr. Scheff was hired to represent me in my divorce. He was kind on the front end, until he received retainer. It then became an uphill battle to get him to do anything. He would not return my calls promptly, if at all. He lied about what he said he had scheduled with the presiding court and meetings with respondent’s attorney. I called the court to verify and found no such time, or date for court was reserved. I also verified he did not have specific conversation with respondent’s attorney. Constantly he gave me the run around and different excuses as to why he had not moved forward on the case, after his original petition. He charged me for services not rendered. I completely agree with the individual who gave the previous negative rating here. I only wish I had found the rating prior. I fired Mr. Scheff and took my lumps! I also filed a grievance with the State Bar of Texas.... Beware!

She was not a Hands-On attorney. I never saw the woman until court. I had paid her $2,000 and she said that's it. You're divorced and everything is settled. 3 weeks later she sent me a statement for over $500. I contacted her as I was livid. I had many women tell me do not hire her. I should have listened. Seriously, never saw the woman until the day of divorce.
