I got my first moving violation ticket on a very busy 4th of July weekend. It was bumper to bumper traffic. The congestion was so bad a group of cars formed another lane. I only joined so I can make a left turn, away from the traffic. Unfortunately, a police officer stopped the group of cars that formed another lane. Forming another lane was illegal. I was so grateful for Attorney Abasolo to assist me. On the day I had to appear at court, the Judge granted a no moving violation with no points charged, as long as I pay the fee - just as Attorney Abasolo had advised me. I was relieved for Attorney Abasolo's helpful and professional solution to my ticket dilemma. Thank You, Attorney Abasolo.

I was looking to buy my first house and reached out to Michael. He was very calm and composed and explained me the complete process of home buying and made me feel at ease. I decided at that point itself that he will be my lawyer. The home buying process is lengthy and complex but Michael was always there to explain each step in the process and guided me whenever required. Also he provided great insight which really helped me and negotiated on my behalf with the seller so I can get the maximum sellers credit. He and his team really made the process smooth and kept me on track to close the house much sooner than the offer closing date. On the day of closing there was last minute issues that came up but Michael was quick to identify a solution which really helped me to close the house.

I walked into John's office one day after finding out that my landlord was charging me more than the legal rent-controlled rent. John was incredibly well versed in landlord-tenant law, rent control in particular, and immediately filed a lawsuit for treble damages under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. We ultimately prevailed and I recovered more than three times the amount that I was overcharged, plus all of my attorney fees. I first contacted John when I found out that my landlord had overcharged me for my rent-controlled apartment. He was very well versed in rent control law, and advised me to sue under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. I went into a property sale blindly not knowing anyone in the area. My realtor (who I didn't know either) recommended Rifah. She was wonderful in solving problems in a calm, logical manner. Her knowledge of RE law in NJ is unbelievable and she was open to all of my questions and suggestions. I contacted Koles, Burke & Bustillo,L.L.P because the firm I was using prior had made so many mistakes on my case.

I can't speak highly enough of Aurel. I told my client to call Aurel for his services for the sale of his property and am beyond happy I did. I got a ticket last year for almost running a police officer's squad car off of the road on my way to classes at Rutgers. I was looking at a billboard and didn't notice my car was drifting to the right and into the police car that was in my blind spot. I was pulled over shortly thereafter. Long story short, professor González was able to get my infraction changed, cutting the total fine to a fraction of what it was. As a result of the change there were no points added to my license and I additionally avoided paying a $250 surcharge typically paid in order to avoid points. He really is an amazing lawyer. I totally recommend him, especially if you are a student and low on cash.

Over a half a year ago I was charged with a fourth degree felony due to simply being at the wrong place at the wrong time as I never looked for trouble my entire life. In my case, I found myself in a situation where trouble found me. Never having worked with a criminal defense attorney, I wanted to make sure I found one of New Jerseys most reputable. My search ended with the Tormey Law Firm and an opportunity to have attorney Chirag Mehta work on my case. Attorney Chirag was extremely dependable and showed up for all my court appearances on time and when he could not for good reason, which happened only once, he made sure I was in good hands with another one of his fellow attorneys. Attorney Chirag worked hard and was very knowledgeable and kept me informed throughout my case. Whenever I had a question or concern he was able to answer with confidence and provide me with reassurance. By the end of my case Attorney Mehta was able to drop my case down from a fourth degree felony to a boro ordinance, which is an extremely huge jump! Lastly, I would definitely recommend hiring Attorney Mehta and would not hesitate to hire him again, god forbid that life throws me another curve ball and I end up having to deal with Norwood Municipal Court bureaucrats ever again! I'm editing this after a call with Matthew after the review published, to clarify parts that were either out of his control or that could be better explained or attributed. Updated comments will be in [ ]. It might be hard to read because of the additions, so I apologize in advance.
I hired Matthew Feinbloom to handle my home purchase and would not recommend
[UPDATE: I would only recommend Matt if he gets more assistance with his workload, becomes more transparent in his communication about expectations and if you, the potential client, are able to stay on top of the process and proactively check in or ask questions throughout.]
I went with Matt because my realtor recommended him. Throughout the months-long process, I maybe heard from Matt three to five times. [UPDATE: By which I meant of his own initiation to inform me of things like executed contracts being ready for signing.]
He was responsive enough via email, but never seemed to actually be in my corner. [UPDATE: Matt is insistent that he has his clients best interests at heart, and I believe that he feels this way. From my perspective I just felt like I wanted someone more communicative and who would guide me every step of the way.]
On the DAY OF closing, he informed me AT SIGNING that the tax abatement I had been asking about for months had been denied. I asked when he found out about the denial, and he said 2 weeks ago. But he waited a whole two weeks to let me know?
[UPDATE: Matt has admitted that this is something he should have done sooner but stated that in his opinion this wouldn't have made a difference in whether I would have received approval for an abatement.]
I was also charged TWICE for my Homeowners Insurance by the title company that Matt selected. He asked them in writing to issue a check as a refund, but they did not, and he never followed up until I checked in more than a month later. Not to mention the many issues my lender had with the title company.
[UPDATE: Matt said that he didn't know and that had he known they didn't send me the refund he would have done something. I didn't check on the refund until weeks later because I had to deal with the administrative fallout and general tedium of moving.]
At closing, too, the TITLE DEED he wanted me to simply sign (without double checking) had the WRONG UNIT on it. The papers I was supposed to sign had multiple errors all over them, and he had to fix and reprint several sheets of paper, resulting in him being late for his next meeting.
[UPDATE: Matt has stated both during our call today and at closing in June that when I was signing the documents was the first time he had himself read them, so any errors that came up were really the mistakes of the deed and title companies, who themselves had lawyers and other people working on the documents.]
Overall, it felt like Matt had no time to really pay attention to my case. I wish I had gone with someone else. I'm now continuing to deal with the fallout of having been blindsided this entire process. I have all the documents and receipts to prove what happened. If you want to go with Matt, make sure you're on top of the entire process yourself. Otherwise, find someone else who will actually look out for you.
[FINAL UPDATE: I feel that Matt did get the brunt of my displeasure at the entire homebuying process, which was especially shitty in Jersey City. It was not Matt's fault that so much of the process was frustrating and frankly borderline illegal. The builders and developers had a part to play as well, and the seller's attorney was difficult to work with, causing many of these issues. I've suggested to Matt that his firm finds more assistance so he can have more time to focus on his cases and his clients' needs. I really don't know where to begin but let me start off my saying Sandra was an absolute godsend to us. We were blessed to have her and I emphasize BLESSED. I needed to sell my home because I was moving out of state. My son-in-law led me to Sandra. This is the best move we could've ever made throughout this entire process.
