A former customer had outstanding invoices for manufacturing work performed and product delivered about which they disagreed. Despite repeated requests by our company personnel, there was no response or even acknowledgement of our requests to discuss settlement. We contacted Mr. Brown and after a review of our information, he agreed to act as our attorney in the matter. Despite communication from Mr. Brown, the former customer failed to respond, so Mr. Brown filed a complaint. This action resulted in a response, then some meetings between the two businesses in an effort to resolve the issue. When the meetings failed to resolve the issue, the two parties met in a facilitation setting at Mr. Brown's suggestion, which ultimately resulted in a settlement outside of court. The settlement was mutually unsatisfactory to both parties, so it was a good settlement. During the entire process (approximately 6 months) Mr. Brown kept us immediately current on the status of correspondence and communications, and offered his legal opinions of how the issue might be settled. Mr. Brown was direct and straightforward in all aspects of the process, and was a man of his word throughout. We would not hesitate to employ Mr. Brown in other legal matters within his areas of practice.

I am not sure why anyone on here would rate Steve less than stellar. He is not good at Marketing, yes. But he is a great attorney. My ex-wife keeps finding attorneys that are good at marketing. Guess what - Steve out-advocates them all - literally smokes them. Even the big name guys. Steve Durance represented me in a contentious divorce. Hundreds of hours and three years now. He never overcharged me either. Just the opposite. Steve is the most honest and decent attorney you can find in Midland. Sometimes too honest. He is not willing to cut corners. And he is worth double of what he charged me. I got to him because my previous attorney was not willing or even able to handle all the trouble my ex created. Steve cut through all the malarkey he made things look simple and he turned a 5,000 page court file into a beautiful 15-page closing brief outshining the 75 pages the opposing attorney dared to file after ten days of trial. The opposing attorney found it important enough to file a 37 page answer to the 15 page brief. Steve's son Peter now works in the firm too, and he's lucky to have a role model like Steve. If Peter represents you - you can count yourself lucky. Miranda, THE legal assistant with a secret JD is great handling everything too. Steve Durance represented by husband in a felony case in 2018 and the it was biggest mistake we made! Steve actually was the person that told me at the courthouse that my husband had just died and after that I never heard from Steve Durance again!!!! If you’re looking for a lawyer to represent you that cares, don’t use STEVE!

I don't believe my experience with Mr. Durance and his staff could have gone any better. Being an out of state resident I really didn't know what to expect, but after the first phone call I knew I was in good hands. I was kept up to date as the case progressed and was extremely satisfied with the results. I would recommend Mr. Durance to anyone. Great attorney, great staff, and great results..... case closed!!
