Angela took such good care of us. She worked with my wife and me through the adoption of our second child. Working with this lawyer was a refreshing experience. I recently found out that years ago I had been frivolously sued in small claims court by someone who made a meritless claim. This person used it to try to enter a civil judgment against me. Frankly I had no idea how to handle the situation. I was scared and confused. I called a bunch of law firms trying to figure out what I needed to do, and most of them just left me feeling even more scared and more confused. Then I called the law offices of Thomas D. Mr. Kenny was nothing short of AMAZING! I was worried I would do jailtime because the victim had strong evidence against me but he ensured me that I'd be ok. He's truly a magician and great at what he do and he don't cost an arm and a leg!!! Having recently gone through a divorce and the death of a parent, I've had to get my financial house in order. Part of this is estate planning for myself and children. I could not be more satisfied with engaging in this process with Whitney. From the outset, Whitney clearly explained all angles I'd want to consider as we prepared my will and power of attorney documents. Her clear communication and attention to detail made all of this much easier. As a firm, Unruh, Turner, Burke, and Frees has helpful worksheets and booklets that detail the estate planning process. I easily understood what needed to be done on my end. Beyond that, scheduling appointments and dealing with a reschedule went very smoothly. The office experience itself was pleasant; I was treated with courtesy and enjoyed my tea and dark chocolate, as well as the historic building. Steve is an outstanding litigator. If you're lucky, you get a lawyer who is a sharp researcher and can identify the right cases and precedents; or you get someone who is really good at bringing together evidence and presenting a strong written case to the judge. Or you get someone who is good on their feet in the courtroom, quick and smart in presenting your case but also in responding to opposing arguments and judge's questions. Amy Steerman has been our attorney for over ten years. We met her through a number of members of our parish church. Our first contact was with the preparation of wills, health power of attorney and legal power of attorney for my partner and myself prior to our marriage. She helped us establish an irrevocable trust for both of us. As the years have passed she has helped update our wills.
When my brother was in the hospital in critical condition she came to the hospital and created a power of attorney for him. To ensure the validity of the power Amy had the attending Doctor sign as a witness. I say this to show that Amy is thorough in all of her processes. I had a very complicated ownership of a property with my two brothers. As they each passed away Amy assisted in determining the tax owed to the government in each case. She assisted in all the paperwork required by the government in their deaths. Later when we sold the property she assisted with the settlement (representing both buyer, who was a close friend of ours, and seller). She also assisted in determining the federal tax to be paid.
My father lived in Florida and as his health declined we decided that we needed an attorney in Florida to assist in legal situations. Amy researched and validated his credentials. We were very pleased with her recommendation.
We had a property in Philadelphia with a very difficult and combative tenant. When we decided to sell the property we asked Amy to represent us and handle the request for him to move as we did not want to have any contact with him. She gave him notice to move and informed him that he was not to contact us and any questions (of which there were many) be directed only to her. We were extremely pleased with a situation that we had been dreading for a number of years.
My partner was the executor of a will for a close friend. The will was extremely complicated involving the sale of a big property, funding a trust created by a bank, the distribution of funds to four individuals which included prepaying the inheritance tax for each person. Amy was indispensable in that process. In order to save some money and because it was not in Philadelphia but Montgomery County it was her opinion that he could process most of the requirements himself. When items such as the amount of tax for prepayment et cetera arose Amy provided the answers. She assisted in many other complicated and required procedures that filing a will requires. She recommended a tax accountant for preparing a tax report for the current year and several tax reports that were due in the several years to follow as well as the final tax report. Again, her referral was excellent.
Amy has a way of explaining legal issues clearly for the layperson and she is always available to answer a question. I want to add that she does not follow the practice of billing for 30-second increments and will talk and offer advice without billing for every event. We have recommended her to a number of close friends and without exception, they have been extremely pleased with her service.
We trust her without exception and to show this trust we have requested her to be the executrix of our wills. We highly recommend Amy Steerman.

In the almost twenty years that we have known Amy she has proven herself time and time again to be an absolutely phenomenal attorney! Amy originally prepared our wills, livings wills and established an irrevocable trust for our daughter. We subsequently had her update our documents so as to keep them current. We hired Mr. Cook for what we thought would be a small case. Unfortunately it did not turn out that way. The case involved an educational institution and we are thankful for Mr. Cook’s knowledge, assertiveness when necessary, and calm demeanor when necessary. He was also very kind and thoughtful to our family during this extremely stressful process. My frend’s father was the victim of a car accident caused by negligent driving. We contacted a well known pool company to do a full renovation. It turned into a nightmare. Thousands of dollars for work so badly done a second renovation along with replacement of fixtures the company’s workers broke were needed after it was “finished “.
