My husband an I had a problem with property damage caused by a licensed contractor which had filed for bankruptcy to complicate things. My husband and I found Matt through Avvo as we were relocating from out of state and were purchasing a home without the use of a realtor. We strongly recommend Matt for multiple reasons. First, he provided sound advice on ensuring the title was free and clear and there would be no issues prior to us getting too far into the process. Second, he recommended for us to have the seller provide an updated survey at their expense since the survey was old and this was a lakefront property. Third, he was able to negotiate with the Title company and look over our owners title insurance policy to ensure we had a policy that worked in our best interest. And lastly, he made sure that our purchase agreement was written well to represent and protect us in the negotiation proceedings. These four items alone you cannot put a price on as they can be pricey issues down the road if you are not protected or if all information on the property is not disclosed properly. Matt's charges were fair and overall couldn't put a price on them because the information was better than any real estate agent could provide and it more than triple paid for what we saved in buyer realtor fees that we were able to negotiate off the price. We strongly recommend for anyone who is looking at a piece of real estate to engage with Matt instead.

Matt Dougherty saved the purchase of our dream home. Only 4 days before the closing of our new home we were notified that the title company would not sign off on the purchase because of marital status concerns with the home seller. We didn’t know where to turn and we’re recommended to call Matt by a friend. I spoke with Matt on the phone and asked him to help. Within 24 hours he had spoken to all involved parties and sent a notification to the title company of why they should sign off on the purchase, which they agreed and our purchase was able to complete as planned. Sue Wilson duped me, simply put. She convinced me she was very caring, apparently only so that I'd hire her. She finalized my divorce refusing to correct errors she'd made in the decree, and handed away all of my rights while ignoring what I told her I needed. Do not hire her if you're a woman.
