I would like to strongly recommend attorney John D. D’Amato to anyone looking for an excellent attorney and John is just that. I hired John D’Amato recently to discuss working out a payment arrangement with the attorneys representing the BMFCU and John was able to work out a payment plan that was affordable to me and he even let me pay the fee owed to him in monthly installments. Attorney John D’Amato is very professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and caring , and I’m glad that I hired him to represent me and I am extremely happy with the outcome and I can’t thank John enough, he’s definitely the best attorney that I came across as far as handling bankruptcy cases and negotiating debt…. Mr. Saraceno got me the best possible outcome for my case and I’m convinced that another attorney could not have done any better for me. He took a lot of time on my case making numerous court appearances and fought aggressively on my behalf. The judge even commented that my attorney did a “mammoth” job for me! I’m certain that I made the right choice in hiring Dominic to represent me.

David Coombs saved my career, passion and livelihood. My initial request for information from him received a quick and thorough response. After retaining David, he quickly went to work. Once I saw what he was doing on my case, my stress levels decreased significantly. David was a true advocate for me. He worked hard and was always reachable. Best of all, he is experienced, knows the military legal system very well and had the respect of the members at the Flying Evaluation Board as he is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve with over 20 years of service. David’s use of technology was also very helpful. I enjoyed using the collaborative website that allowed me to see and track the work being done, witnesses contacted and communications with the Command. This system was user-friendly, excellent for organizing the case and streamlined communication between the two of us. David Coombs has my highest recommendation if you need someone to fight for you and your career. He is highly skilled, responsive and dedicated to his clients.

I am so glad we ran into Mr. Coombs and that he, agreed to take our case. My daughter is an active duty U.S. Army soldier serving in South Korea. She was wrongly accused of multiple charges under a 15-6 investigation, this case was a real juggernaut, a 32-page indictment with all kinds of twists and turns. Mr. Coombs quickly reviewed the case and gave us his initial assessment. Even though we were over 6K miles apart, he always made us feel like we were right next door, access, communication and feedback was quick and insightful, questions were tough but reflected his interest and commitment to the case. As the case progressed, we started to realize his defense strategy, its was simply brilliant. At first, I was a little hesitant to engage a lawyer without a face-to-face meeting, but he definitely have proved me wrong. He never over promised but was clear on the direction and kept us informed on possible courses of actions. The final outcome was a complete vindication, this was a relief for our entire family, I was, to say the least, very happy......none; not a single recommendation from the Investigating Officer against my daughter was validated by the decision-making authority, the entire case was basically discarded, she got her career back along with another chance to move forward thanks to Mr. Coombs' outstanding defense. BREAK; I would like to take this opportunity express my most sincere gratitude to Mr. Coombs, first and foremost for taking our case, asking the right (tough) questions and putting such a brilliant defense into action. We would not have had this outcome if it were not for his hard work, dedication and expertise. Again, thanks David for all your support, now I know how to find you the next time we need the very best legal representation in all military matters. V/r Gil

On August 27th at 2:00 PM EST, I called your office seeking legal advice and assistance. Unfortunately, I encountered an individual who displayed an unprofessional and discourteous attitude. When I initially explained my situation, she abruptly informed me that your office does not handle such matters and hung up without allowing me to ask any further questions. I called back to inquire about the specific cases your office does handle, as I believe my civil rights have been violated. However, before I could fully articulate my question, she interrupted, stating, "I said we don’t handle this, and I said have a great day," and then hung up on me once again. Frustrated by this lack of assistance, I called a third time to request to speak with a supervisor. On two separate occasions, she answered the phone only to immediately hang up. When she finally responded, she simply said, "Please stop calling." I would like to bring this matter to the attention of her supervisor, as this behavior reflects a lack of customer service skills and professionalism. It is disheartening to encounter such a response, especially when reaching out for help in a difficult situation. Individuals who prioritize dismissing potential clients over offering assistance should not be in positions where they interact with the public. As a college student in need of legal help, I expected better treatment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure others do not experience the same level of disregard.

For some reason I couldn’t reply on the review I wrote but I only asked for a price estimated range because I wanted to be prepared which is a common question anywhere you go not everyone is going to know how things like this work or if it’s worth something so you ask questions to make sure to be prepared. The lady continuously kept cutting me off as I spoke that’s rude no need to leave your number because I’m not calling back to this place another firm actually reached out and I was treated with respect and they answered my question with no problems about the price estimate and was very respectful and herd me out on my concerns. Take notes mabey you’ll learn how to be respectful to ones that come for help to your firm.

What a Sex Crime Lawyer Can Do for You

A sex crime lawyer specializes in defending individuals accused of sexual offenses, which can include charges such as sexual assault, rape, indecent exposure, child pornography, solicitation, and other related crimes. Being charged with a sex crime carries severe legal and social consequences, including potential imprisonment, mandatory registration as a sex offender, fines, and long-term stigma. A sex crime lawyer has the expertise to navigate the complex legal system, protect your rights, and develop a strategic defense to achieve the best possible outcome for your case.

When Should I Hire a Sex Crime Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a sex crime lawyer immediately if:

  • You are under investigation: If law enforcement contacts you for questioning or you become aware that you are a suspect in a sex crime investigation, it's crucial to seek legal representation before speaking with authorities.
  • You have been arrested or charged: Promptly hiring a lawyer upon arrest or formal charges allows for early intervention in your case, which can be critical for your defense.
  • Searches and seizures have occurred: If your property, such as your home or electronic devices, has been searched or seized in connection with a sex crime investigation, a lawyer can help protect your rights.
  • You are facing related legal issues: If you're dealing with restraining orders, custody disputes, or other legal matters stemming from the allegations, a lawyer can provide comprehensive legal support.

What Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Do?

A sex crime lawyer provides a range of legal services to defend and support you throughout the legal process:

  • Legal consultation and advice: They will explain the charges against you, outline your rights, and advise you on the best course of action.
  • Case investigation: The lawyer will conduct a thorough investigation, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and identifying inconsistencies or weaknesses in the prosecution's case.
  • Defense strategy development: They will develop a tailored defense strategy, which may include challenging the credibility of evidence, disputing the legality of how evidence was obtained, or presenting alternative explanations.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: Your lawyer can negotiate plea bargains or reduced charges when appropriate, aiming to minimize potential penalties.
  • Court representation: They will represent you in all court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and sentencing, advocating on your behalf.
  • Protecting your rights: The lawyer ensures that your constitutional rights are upheld throughout the legal process, including protection against unlawful searches, coerced confessions, or violations of due process.
  • Post-trial assistance: If necessary, they can assist with appeals, sentence modifications, or matters related to sex offender registration.

How Are Sex Crime Lawyers Paid?

Sex crime lawyers typically charge for their services in one of the following ways:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee for the time spent working on your case. Rates can vary widely based on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fee: A set amount that covers specific services or the entirety of your case, which can provide cost predictability.
  • Retainer fee: An upfront payment from which the lawyer deducts hourly fees and expenses as they work on your case. You may need to replenish the retainer if it is exhausted.
  • Payment plans: Some lawyers offer payment arrangements to make their services more affordable over time.

It's important to discuss payment structures and fees during your initial consultation to understand the financial commitment involved.

How Much Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a sex crime lawyer depends on various factors, including the complexity of the case, the severity of the charges, and the lawyer's experience. General cost estimates are:

  • Hourly rates: Typically range from $200 to $500 or more per hour.
  • Flat fees: For less complex cases, flat fees might range from $5,000 to $25,000.
  • Total costs: Complex cases involving extensive investigation or a trial can cost $25,000 to $100,000 or more.
  • Additional costs: May include expert witness fees, investigative expenses, and court fees.

Always request a detailed fee agreement and discuss potential additional costs to avoid unexpected expenses.

  • List of questions: Prepare questions about your case, the legal process, and the lawyer's experience.
  • Honesty: Be prepared to discuss all details openly and honestly; attorney-client privilege ensures confidentiality.
  • Goals and objectives: Be clear about what you hope to achieve, whether it's dismissing charges, reducing penalties, or addressing registration as a sex offender.
