I can't say enough good things about Mr. O'Keefe. I was looking for lawyers regarding a DUI on-line and he called me within hours of requesting information! He was able to schedule an appointment to meet the same day and cover some information on me. I selected him as the lawyer for my case, and even though it was a short notice he was professional, thorough, and extremely supportive of me the entire time. He worked with me and walked me through every step of the way, including preparing me for any future steps of this ordeal. He knew each miniscule piece of information to put my mind at rest, who the judge was and her personality, and freely answered all of my questions. Mr. O'Keefe provided me with resources and tasks to complete before my arraignment so I was prepared for court. He pushed for an earlier hearing for me so I wasn't waiting months for my sentencing after my arraignment. He also had recommendations for me on where to do my court ordered community service. While at the court house it seemed like everyone knew Mr. O'Keefe which just showed what his recognition is in the local industry. I would recommend Mr. O'Keefe to any of my family or friends without any hesitation. He was not only confident in his abilities, but he provided me with the tools and support in the court room to alleviate the stress of my first offense, and also assisted in getting a shorter probation for me. Again, I can't put into words how happy I was with my entire experience using Mr. O'Keefe.

I found Mr. O'Keefe to be confident, professional and efficient in settling the charges I faced without trial. I felt confident he would have handled the trial efficiently.

Our son recently got in some misdemeanor legal trouble. Mr. O'Keefe successfully negotiated a plea, which allowed him to continue with school and not affect his driving or student loans. We are grateful to Mr. O'Keefe for all of his hard work. Our son had not ever been in trouble before and this was out of character for him. A second chance and a lesson learned. Thank you!

This is what you call a low value law firm with low value employees. Don't even consider them, they are a joke.

I found myself in a bad situation and was referred to this law office by a friend of mine. John English is the attorney I hired for my case and he was not only on top of the issues but treated me like I was the only case he was working on. He was also very supportive throughout the entire process. John English is an excellent attorney. If I ever find myself in a legal situation again I would not hesitate to hire him and would definitely recommend him to anyone who find themselves in need of legal expertise.

Not sure where to begin. I guess we should start with the first problem. I hired John's services 2 weeks before my first court date. 2 business days before my court date after not hearing from him. I decided to call him. Not knowing how things were going to go in court, I had a lot of questions. I was told by John that I need not to rush the court and don't worry about it we have plenty of time. As soon as I told him court is on Monday. He immediately put me on hold and figured out that he could not even be there for my first court date. Fortunately the firm had one of the other attorneys go to court with me and she was great. I wish I would have hired her instead of John. The part that blew my mind was at my sentencing. The man that repeatedly told me how bad my situation was after reading statements from all parties involved. He sits down and reads the statement with the assistant of the prosecuting attorney. He then tells me that he wish he would have a chance to read that sooner. Well my first sit down meeting with him. We read through all the statements together. I feel that I would have had the same or better results with my outcome if I would have just went with the court appointed attorney. One last thing. Someone that has been in this line of work for 30+ years should not be stuttering and using the words um, uh, and other things like that when he is speaking to the Judge. I am a ninth grade drop out and can handle my wording better than that. Oh and yes he loved throwing in my face that I was a ninth grade drop out. I will just say. I wish I would have saved the THOUSANDS of dollars I paid for such in incompetent service.

I retained John English of Kronzek & Cronkright, PLLC for my defense on a misdemeanor drug charge. Since I had no criminal history, I was eligible for section 7411 in Michigan. John handled my case and not only got me section 7411, but my probation was limited to 90 days with the stipulation that it would end as soon I passed a drug test. Since John had advised me to avoid all drugs including alcohol, I tested clean and was immediately released from probation. My probation lasted about 15 minutes. I was very pleased and would recommend Kronzek & Cronkright as well as John English for your defense. Thanks John.

What a Sex Crime Lawyer Can Do for You

A sex crime lawyer specializes in defending individuals accused of sexual offenses, which can include charges such as sexual assault, rape, indecent exposure, child pornography, solicitation, and other related crimes. Being charged with a sex crime carries severe legal and social consequences, including potential imprisonment, mandatory registration as a sex offender, fines, and long-term stigma. A sex crime lawyer has the expertise to navigate the complex legal system, protect your rights, and develop a strategic defense to achieve the best possible outcome for your case.

When Should I Hire a Sex Crime Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a sex crime lawyer immediately if:

  • You are under investigation: If law enforcement contacts you for questioning or you become aware that you are a suspect in a sex crime investigation, it's crucial to seek legal representation before speaking with authorities.
  • You have been arrested or charged: Promptly hiring a lawyer upon arrest or formal charges allows for early intervention in your case, which can be critical for your defense.
  • Searches and seizures have occurred: If your property, such as your home or electronic devices, has been searched or seized in connection with a sex crime investigation, a lawyer can help protect your rights.
  • You are facing related legal issues: If you're dealing with restraining orders, custody disputes, or other legal matters stemming from the allegations, a lawyer can provide comprehensive legal support.

What Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Do?

A sex crime lawyer provides a range of legal services to defend and support you throughout the legal process:

  • Legal consultation and advice: They will explain the charges against you, outline your rights, and advise you on the best course of action.
  • Case investigation: The lawyer will conduct a thorough investigation, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and identifying inconsistencies or weaknesses in the prosecution's case.
  • Defense strategy development: They will develop a tailored defense strategy, which may include challenging the credibility of evidence, disputing the legality of how evidence was obtained, or presenting alternative explanations.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: Your lawyer can negotiate plea bargains or reduced charges when appropriate, aiming to minimize potential penalties.
  • Court representation: They will represent you in all court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and sentencing, advocating on your behalf.
  • Protecting your rights: The lawyer ensures that your constitutional rights are upheld throughout the legal process, including protection against unlawful searches, coerced confessions, or violations of due process.
  • Post-trial assistance: If necessary, they can assist with appeals, sentence modifications, or matters related to sex offender registration.

How Are Sex Crime Lawyers Paid?

Sex crime lawyers typically charge for their services in one of the following ways:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee for the time spent working on your case. Rates can vary widely based on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fee: A set amount that covers specific services or the entirety of your case, which can provide cost predictability.
  • Retainer fee: An upfront payment from which the lawyer deducts hourly fees and expenses as they work on your case. You may need to replenish the retainer if it is exhausted.
  • Payment plans: Some lawyers offer payment arrangements to make their services more affordable over time.

It's important to discuss payment structures and fees during your initial consultation to understand the financial commitment involved.

How Much Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a sex crime lawyer depends on various factors, including the complexity of the case, the severity of the charges, and the lawyer's experience. General cost estimates are:

  • Hourly rates: Typically range from $200 to $500 or more per hour.
  • Flat fees: For less complex cases, flat fees might range from $5,000 to $25,000.
  • Total costs: Complex cases involving extensive investigation or a trial can cost $25,000 to $100,000 or more.
  • Additional costs: May include expert witness fees, investigative expenses, and court fees.

Always request a detailed fee agreement and discuss potential additional costs to avoid unexpected expenses.
