The best professional decision I have made in a 19+ year career on active duty was to hire Jaclyn to represent me when I was facing a career-threatening administrative action. Jaclyn is the most accessible and honest professional that I have ever worked with, and without her assistance in resolving my case I don’t know if I would have been able to make it to retirement. During the several months of investigation and suspension of favorable actions, Jaclyn was truly the only person who was on my side; even members of my command said that hiring an outside attorney was the best decision I made and a major factor that influenced the favorable result. No matter the need for counsel, you are not going to find a more professional, accessible, and accountable confidant than Jaclyn, she literally saved me and my family’s career.

Isolation may not have stopped immediately at work, but feeling alone and unheard quickly changed the second I began communicating with Jaclyn. She fought tirelessly, even when I just had nothing left in the tank. If you're looking up lawyers, chances are you know you need a lawyer, but you can't commit just yet because you don't care, or you just think your situation is a lost cause. That's where I was, but the more I read her background, and history of the entire firm, I committed to it. After the consultation, it confirmed that not only did I need a lawyer, but that I needed her. She took ownership of the entire thing. She was genuinely offended by not only the claim, but the entire premise of the poor leadership and investigatory process I had to deal with. Once I hired her, she got right to work, informed all parties to include legal, investigatory, and leadership that anything regarding legal matters would need to be directed towards her. She crosses all t's and dots all i's. When the cards were stacked against me, she picked and poked at each of those cards and 1 by 1 exploited them until the prosecution had nothing left except what they started with, a false claim with no factual substance. I don't know where I want my career to head from this point, but I now have control of my career again. That is almost completely if not all attributed to Jaclyn Grieser, her dedication, work ethic, fierce stance on justice, and commitment to me as her client

Jaclyn by far exceeded our expectations. She went above and beyond. She responded to every email, phone call put in with amazing response times. Extra time and effort put into all aspects of our case, even when her portion was done she was ready and willing to respond and provide further information. Her knowledge and perseverance shined through. She was aggressive with opposition and demanded action and answers. We can never thank her enough for all the hard work she put in. Even with acting in such a professional manner she managed to allow a personal spin which made us feel confident in all aspects of the case. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help. The way she fought for our case surpassed our expectations.

Lee Ruslander is an EXTREMELY GREAT lawyer. The way he presents himself in the courtroom is great and his cross examination skills are top notch. He intimidates law enforcement officers on the stand testifying and the District Attorney will completely hesitate to put a witness on the stand with Lee Ruslander in the courtroom. Lee gets the entire courtroom quiet and confused and the District Attorney won't even know what he's even doing. Great lawyer. He's your man if you need a good lawyer. If your in some deep trouble call Lee.

What a Sex Crime Lawyer Can Do for You

A sex crime lawyer specializes in defending individuals accused of sexual offenses, which can include charges such as sexual assault, rape, indecent exposure, child pornography, solicitation, and other related crimes. Being charged with a sex crime carries severe legal and social consequences, including potential imprisonment, mandatory registration as a sex offender, fines, and long-term stigma. A sex crime lawyer has the expertise to navigate the complex legal system, protect your rights, and develop a strategic defense to achieve the best possible outcome for your case.

When Should I Hire a Sex Crime Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a sex crime lawyer immediately if:

  • You are under investigation: If law enforcement contacts you for questioning or you become aware that you are a suspect in a sex crime investigation, it's crucial to seek legal representation before speaking with authorities.
  • You have been arrested or charged: Promptly hiring a lawyer upon arrest or formal charges allows for early intervention in your case, which can be critical for your defense.
  • Searches and seizures have occurred: If your property, such as your home or electronic devices, has been searched or seized in connection with a sex crime investigation, a lawyer can help protect your rights.
  • You are facing related legal issues: If you're dealing with restraining orders, custody disputes, or other legal matters stemming from the allegations, a lawyer can provide comprehensive legal support.

What Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Do?

A sex crime lawyer provides a range of legal services to defend and support you throughout the legal process:

  • Legal consultation and advice: They will explain the charges against you, outline your rights, and advise you on the best course of action.
  • Case investigation: The lawyer will conduct a thorough investigation, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and identifying inconsistencies or weaknesses in the prosecution's case.
  • Defense strategy development: They will develop a tailored defense strategy, which may include challenging the credibility of evidence, disputing the legality of how evidence was obtained, or presenting alternative explanations.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: Your lawyer can negotiate plea bargains or reduced charges when appropriate, aiming to minimize potential penalties.
  • Court representation: They will represent you in all court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and sentencing, advocating on your behalf.
  • Protecting your rights: The lawyer ensures that your constitutional rights are upheld throughout the legal process, including protection against unlawful searches, coerced confessions, or violations of due process.
  • Post-trial assistance: If necessary, they can assist with appeals, sentence modifications, or matters related to sex offender registration.

How Are Sex Crime Lawyers Paid?

Sex crime lawyers typically charge for their services in one of the following ways:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee for the time spent working on your case. Rates can vary widely based on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fee: A set amount that covers specific services or the entirety of your case, which can provide cost predictability.
  • Retainer fee: An upfront payment from which the lawyer deducts hourly fees and expenses as they work on your case. You may need to replenish the retainer if it is exhausted.
  • Payment plans: Some lawyers offer payment arrangements to make their services more affordable over time.

It's important to discuss payment structures and fees during your initial consultation to understand the financial commitment involved.

How Much Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a sex crime lawyer depends on various factors, including the complexity of the case, the severity of the charges, and the lawyer's experience. General cost estimates are:

  • Hourly rates: Typically range from $200 to $500 or more per hour.
  • Flat fees: For less complex cases, flat fees might range from $5,000 to $25,000.
  • Total costs: Complex cases involving extensive investigation or a trial can cost $25,000 to $100,000 or more.
  • Additional costs: May include expert witness fees, investigative expenses, and court fees.

Always request a detailed fee agreement and discuss potential additional costs to avoid unexpected expenses.
