Frank Lopez is an excellent attorney. Now, there may be a lot of excellent attorneys in the Denver metro area, but Frank stands out, at least to me, because he is an excellent human as well. Frank helped advise me through some challenging events and went so far above and beyond just serving as my lawyer. He genuinely cared about how I was doing, despite the fact we had never met in person (only spoke on the phone). Frank has become a very trusted advisor and someone I deeply respect. I could not recommend him more highly.

I took a long time to get my investments and property into a trust for my son as I wasn't sure of the process and it just seemed so daunting, but Miranda was absolutely amazing every step of the way! She was extremely responsive and had documents to me within at least a week's time, sometimes within 24 hours. She guided me through everything and was extremely thorough and patient with me when it came to properly wording everything. She even periodically emails me to ensure that I am following through with contacting all of my investors and banks. I now feel so comforted that in the event of my untimely death, my son is taken care of and there won't be any litigation in regards to my investments or property. I couldn't be more pleased with Miranda's guidance.

I was facing discrimination and retaliation at my federal job of 5 years after getting a new supervisor. I had originally planned to only file a EEO case but after speaking with Ben he shed light on another case I had high chances of winning: MSPB. I decided to hire Ben for both cases. Ben and his team were very professional throughout the whole process. He was very knowledgeable and made the process a breeze. From start to finish my case took about 5 months in total and I ended up settling. I was very happy with my settlement and would recommend Ben to anyone in need of a federal employment lawyer

Jake and his team took on my case when I had a hard time finding someone to represent me due to being in the military and moving out of state. The case took a while due to all my medical issues and tracking down my records but his team stayed persistent throughout the whole process. He was able to negotiate my settlement and make sure all medical providers and insurance companies involvied were satisfied. Lastly he and his team were able to secure a fair settlement for my pain and suffering. Nothing can restore me to full health but it will help me continue treatment and manage my pain moving forward. I would not have done this any other way. There is good reason in having a lawyer and true professional by your side to advocate for you! Thank you Jake Eisenstein! -Frank

Thank you both to Attorney Conor Stewartson and Paralegal Diane Barrera at Colorado Legal Defense Group for representing our daughter in her criminal defense case. My husband and I spoke to several Attorney firms to help us and after speaking with Diane and the Intake Attorney Cole Presnell, we decided to go with their firm. I can honestly say that Diane was key in helping us make the decision to use their firm. She was very understanding and genuinely cared, being a mother herself. She was available early on and even followed up to make sure we landed safely in CO that same evening to be there for our daughter. Conor was assigned to our case and I was advised although he was new with the firm he had an extensive background as a Criminal defense Attorney. Initially, I was concerned w/him being new to the firm but after speaking with him, doing a background check and reading up on him, he put those concerns to rest. There were times it was difficult to get a hold of Conor but my understanding was his contact phone was still being setup at the time, since he was new w/the firm. But he did return my call when I really needed him over the weekend on a late evening. Also, Diane was always available even on weekends (not normal or expected) and kept the communication going if Conor was not available due to being in court or working w/another client. Ultimately, the outcome of our case was in our daughter's favor and it was completely dismissed all due to the hard work of both Conor and Diane. Their skill set and ability to do what they do, fighting on our daughter's behalf produced the best outcome possible and we are so thankful to them both! The billing process early on was easy and in speaking w/Diane that was not even a concern at the time with what was going on. Which truly shows the caliber of the firm and their people as a whole of who they are and what they are about. We are thankful to both Conor and Diane and are truly blessed to have been represented by them, but as I mentioned to Diane, we pray we never need their services again! But would definitely recommend them and the firm if we ever needed legal help. Sandra

I worked with Chloe and she handled my entire case, from start to finish, with complete confidence and attention to detail. She saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars in a variety of different actions. I am grateful for her understanding and support. I do think it matters which attorney you get assigned to, but I will just leave it at that. Ask for Chloe if she’s available. She was exemplary and always left me feeling like my case was the number one priority.

Over the last 10 years I've dealt with roughly two dozen different attorneys across the US with specialties in employment, real estate, family law, and general business contract law from tier 1 firms to leading local firms and solo small firm practices. Tony Viorst is without a doubt in the top 1 or 2 out of the ~24 lawyers that I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. His rare combination of legal expertise, wisdom, bulldog personality, and most importantly ethics are a lethal mix that set him apart. I would recommend Tony to anyone who needs representation from a highly competent litigator in any of his specialty practice areas and beyond. Thanks again, Tony!

Hired Marlo Greer to represent my family and myself after experiencing a car accident resulting in months of rehabilitation and physical therapy. Poor communication and very hard to get ahold of had multiple Paralegals that ussually never knew what was going on which made thing frustrating and left in the unknown. Glad to have everything completed as this was our first time needing legal representation as I will use this bad experience as a learning experience unfortunately. Won't get to deep in it though as she is somewhat nice just seems to have her hands full with "more important cases" Unfortunate experience for sure!

I had high hopes for Ms. Greer based upon her other reviews. I signed up with Ms. Greer in January of 2023, and repeatedly requested that she send out the Demand letters that would start the negotiations of my claims because I didn’t want to treat for the accidents anymore and wanted all of this behind me. Her office was provided with lists of the medical providers I saw and for which accident twice in writing 8-9 months ago and again over the phone in August. A suit was filed on my first case to “preserve the statute of limitations” while some issues were being worked out. The “excess carrier” denied any exposure by saying that the Defendant named in the suit is an excluded driver and Ms. Greer was unable to ascertain as to whether or not the exclusion indeed applies. At certain times during Ms. Greer’s representation of my cases questions that I would ask in the messaging section of the software she uses would not be replied to for days to weeks which caused more lost time while I am already racing a clock. Now that I have one case in litigation with deadlines to meet and the Statute of Limitations for another case she was representing me for is just over nine months away, she has terminated our working relationship. At first she assumed that I did not trust her and instead of asking me outright whether I trusted her or not, she told me to let her office know when I found other counsel and went so far as to recommend another firm. After telling me to find other counsel and suggesting another firm she suggested that we keep a meeting that was scheduled to which I replied that I saw no need for a meeting. It was not made clear that she felt we had a misunderstanding and that she wanted to continue to represent me. The aforementioned was then back peddled on and she claimed that I had told her my previous counsel did not intend to assert a lien. When asked during a meeting with her if my former counsel intended to place a lien on my case, I actually said that I was unaware as to whether or not he would assert a lien and that he had been paid out of the portion of my case that he did actually settle. Ms. Greer and my former counsel who I once had a working relationship with have communicated in the past because Ms. Greer told me that my former counselor felt awful about the breakdown of our relationship. Instead of asking him if he intended to assert a lien on the part of my case that she was working on while she was communicating with him, she is now using his intent, in part, to withdraw from my cases at a very compromising time for me. Once I questioned my old counsel, it turned out that Marlo assumed he was asserting a lien. She has also stated that I tried to be an acting paralegal in my case. That’s untrue. What I did was to start pushing to get all of this behind me because I now have a limited disability that has been caused by my accident related injuries. This has all been mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting to the point that it is highly unlikely that I will pursue the cases at all anymore. Marlo made many assumptions based upon her “suspicions” and added requirements not outlined in her Agreement nine months into our relationship. Ms. Greer has said that I am from FL and understand FL laws, but that we are in CO. After spending 6 years drafting Demand letters in CO on a contract basis it seems that the accident case formula of 1: accident happens unfortunately 2: attorney is contracted 3: injured person treats 4: medical records and bills are gathered 5: demand letter is drafted 6: demand letter is sent to the insurance adjuster 7: negotiations begin 8: settlement is reached is the same. That is how the cookie usually crumbles. The key difference I see in Florida and Colorado cases is the speed at which firms operate in each State respectively. I did not find her to be empathic or understanding whatsoever. Marlo is very poor at communicating. She assumes instead of asking. I’m

I had a severe car accident in 2014. I did not want to get an attorney, but after about 3 years of doctors trying to convince me to speak to an attorney, a neurologist changed my mind. He told me that an attorney would be able to help me get medical care that most people would not think about. My chiropractor told me about Marlo. I am so thankful for their recommendation. Marlo helped me in many ways that I can’t list them all. She dealt with insurance and more importantly, the opposing council. Marlo helped me to understand what was important and what was not. Most importantly, Marlo helped me to get medical assessments and care that I needed. I used the medical records in my Army Medical Board packet. I received 70% Army and 100% VA disability ratings. Marlo made certain that I received enough in my settlement that I can retire early and spend quality time with my family. Thank you, Marlo, for everything.

What a Sexual Harassment Lawyer Can Do for You

A sexual harassment lawyer specializes in representing individuals who have experienced unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that affects their employment or creates a hostile work environment. These lawyers help victims understand their rights under federal and state laws, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and guide them through the process of filing complaints, negotiating settlements, or pursuing litigation. They also assist employers in implementing anti-harassment policies, conducting investigations, and defending against claims.

Whether you're an employee facing harassment or an employer seeking to address or prevent harassment claims, a sexual harassment lawyer can provide the legal expertise needed to navigate these sensitive issues.

When Should I Hire a Sexual Harassment Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a sexual harassment lawyer in the following situations:

  • For Employees:
    • Experiencing workplace harassment: If you are subjected to unwelcome sexual advances, comments, or behavior that creates a hostile or offensive work environment, a lawyer can help you understand your rights and the steps to take.
    • Retaliation for reporting harassment: If you've reported harassment to your employer and are facing retaliation such as demotion, termination, or other adverse actions, a lawyer can help protect your rights.
    • Failure of employer to address complaints: If your employer does not take appropriate action after you've reported harassment, a lawyer can advise on how to escalate the matter legally.
    • Constructive dismissal: If the harassment is so severe that you feel forced to resign, a lawyer can help you pursue a claim for constructive dismissal.
    • Negotiating settlements: If you're considering a settlement with your employer, a lawyer can negotiate on your behalf to ensure you receive fair compensation.
  • For Employers:
    • Receiving a harassment complaint: If an employee has filed a harassment complaint, a lawyer can guide you through the legal obligations for investigating and addressing the complaint.
    • Implementing anti-harassment policies: A lawyer can help you develop and implement policies and training programs to prevent harassment and protect your organization legally.
    • Defending against claims: If your organization is facing a harassment lawsuit, a lawyer can represent you in court or during settlement negotiations.

Hiring a lawyer early can help ensure that your rights are protected and that you take the appropriate legal steps.

What Does a Sexual Harassment Lawyer Do?

A sexual harassment lawyer provides various legal services depending on whether they represent the employee or the employer. Their responsibilities often include:

  • For Employees:
    • Legal consultation: Provide advice on your rights and the merits of your case, helping you understand the legal definitions of harassment and applicable laws.
    • Filing complaints: Assist in filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) or state agencies, ensuring that all procedural requirements are met.
    • Negotiating settlements: Engage in negotiations with the employer to secure compensation for damages such as lost wages, emotional distress, or punitive damages.
    • Litigation: Represent you in court if a lawsuit is filed, presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and making legal arguments to support your case.
    • Protection against retaliation: Advise on how to handle retaliation from your employer and take legal action if necessary.
  • For Employers:
    • Policy development: Help create comprehensive anti-harassment policies and training programs to prevent harassment in the workplace.
    • Internal investigations: Guide the investigation process when a complaint is made, ensuring it is thorough, impartial, and compliant with legal standards.
    • Legal defense: Represent the company in responding to EEOC complaints or lawsuits, aiming to resolve the matter efficiently and protect the organization's interests.
    • Compliance advice: Keep the company informed about changes in employment laws related to harassment and recommend best practices to maintain compliance.

How Are Sexual Harassment Lawyers Paid?

Sexual harassment lawyers typically charge for their services in various ways, depending on the nature of the case and representation:

  • For Employees:
    • Contingency fee: Many lawyers represent employees on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case. The fee is usually a percentage of the recovered amount, typically ranging from 25% to 40%.
    • Hourly rate: Some lawyers may charge an hourly rate, especially if the case is unlikely to result in monetary compensation but still requires legal assistance.
  • For Employers:
    • Hourly rate: Lawyers representing employers usually charge by the hour, with rates ranging from $200 to $600 or more, depending on their experience and the case complexity.
    • Retainer: Employers may pay a retainer fee for ongoing legal services, especially if they require regular legal counsel on employment matters.

It's important to discuss fees during the initial consultation to understand the cost structure and any additional expenses.

How Much Does a Sexual Harassment Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a sexual harassment lawyer varies based on several factors:

  • For Employees:
    • Contingency fees: If working on a contingency basis, you typically won't pay any upfront fees. If you win or settle, the lawyer's fee will be a percentage of the compensation. For example, if you settle for $50,000 with a 30% contingency fee, the lawyer would receive $15,000.
    • Hourly rates: If charged hourly, fees can range from $200 to $600 per hour. Total costs depend on the number of hours worked.
  • For Employers:
    • Hourly rates: Legal fees can range from $200 to $600 per hour. A straightforward case might cost between $5,000 and $20,000, while more complex litigation could exceed $50,000.
    • Retainer fees: Ongoing legal services may require a retainer ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 or more, depending on the anticipated legal work.

Always request a detailed fee agreement to understand all potential costs.

Top Questions to Ask a Sexual Harassment Lawyer

Before hiring a sexual harassment lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with sexual harassment cases?
Ensure the lawyer has a strong background in handling cases similar to yours.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Understand the fee structure, including contingency fees, hourly rates, and any additional costs.
  3. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Get an honest assessment to set realistic expectations.
  4. What is the likely timeline for my case?
Ask how long the process might take, from filing a complaint to resolution.
  5. Will my case go to trial?
Discuss the likelihood of settling versus going to court.
  6. How involved will I need to be?
Understand what will be required of you throughout the process.
  7. What outcomes can I expect?
Discuss potential remedies, such as compensation, policy changes, or reinstatement.

How to Check the Credibility of a Sexual Harassment Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer:

  • Verify their license: Check with your state bar association to confirm they are licensed and in good standing.
  • Review their experience: Look for lawyers who specialize in employment law, particularly sexual harassment cases.
  • Read client reviews: Check online reviews and testimonials on platforms like Avvo or Martindale-Hubbell.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should provide references from past clients.
  • Professional memberships: Membership in organizations like the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) can indicate a focus on employment law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting:

  • Detailed account: Prepare a written timeline of incidents, including dates, locations, and individuals involved.
  • Documentation: Bring any relevant documents, such as emails, text messages, voicemails, photographs, or witness statements.
  • Employment records: Provide your employment contract, employee handbook, performance reviews, and any prior complaints filed.
  • Questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  • List of witnesses: Note any colleagues or individuals who may have witnessed the harassment or can support your claims.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide accurate legal advice.
