Dear Mr. Eric Wexler, Esq.
Meeting you in your office on September 26, 2024 was indeed a breath of fresh air to my occupied mind with my situation.
My experience in your office started first by receiving a very warm and friendly welcome greetings offered by two of your professionally mannered Staff-Ladies which was telling me a lot about the existence of a very friendly and professional administrative setup in your office.
I had arrived earlier than my appointment time and was sitting in your office waiting-room that you put the key onto the office entry door-lock, opened it and seeing me sitting there, you walked right towards the chair I had sat on with a warm welcoming smile on your face rather than rushing right into your office. We shook hands and exchanged some short icebreaker friendly conversation with each other and then you walked away going into your office. I liked those friendly gestures a lot.
Shortly after, I was escorted to your office. After getting to know about my overall problem which was almost sketchy because of the time laps, you engaged me with a series of interesting methodical questioning about my situation and continued with probing into my almost over four decades old memories which I was frankly thinking that you would be looking to find a needle in a haystack.
With a promising and encouraging sign on your face, you continued with your probing for finding any additional clues while kept revising your arithmetic’s workout upon each one of your additional findings and came up with a great plan of action at the end that I felt all so comfortable with it. I can't thank you enough for that.
I do appreciate your deep knowledge and expertise in the field that I needed legal help with.

My husband and I were having a rather bizarre issue with our S-Corporation and The State of Maryland and we needed to speak with a tax attorney. When I explained our issue, Eric listenened and gave me a few options to consider. There was no "sales pitch" to get us into his office. In fact, Eric offered to talk to our accountant to help us make the best choice! After speaking with our accountant, the option that we chose did not give Eric any immediate business. I was so impressed that he simply helped us. Obviously I cannot attest to working with him, but I can attest to his friendly, frank and knowledgeable consultation!

My husband just died. He left me various tasks to do for him. There is a problem that prevents me to do one of the tasks. It is about tax. I am not really sure who can I trust, who can I ask. I prayed hard for solution. Then one sleepless night, I was in the front of my computer. I googled " Tax Lawyer near me". The very first name came out was his. I read the reviews . He is their saint and savior! And then I thought he could be my savior too. I hit my keyboards and started to email him. I told him what bothers me. I sought for his professional advice... Hit send and went to sleep consoling and telling myself not to expect and that he may not waste his time to me. I was wrong, on the second day I got email from him saying " Please call me ". I was so surprised and relieved . He is very accommodating, professional and very straight forward . He taught me what to do and even guide me how to do my solution. He spent time and double checked if am doing it right. What a man! He doesn't know me but he accommodated me and didn't take anything in return.
Since then, I spread the news. Telling anyone to get this lawyer if they will have problems in tax. Not all heroes wear capes !!

I have know Mark Weinberg for nearly 30 years as a trusted friend and for the last 8 or 10 years as my primary legal advisor for the philanthropy I direct. We are a major ($40M/year) biomedical philanthropy with some additional interests in education primarily in the US and occasionally in the 3rd world. Mark's advice is always the best I can find and the other attorneys we use always defer to him for questions of tax law especially as it relates to philanthropy. His broad experience, depth of knowledge and delightful personality combine to make him the only choice for us for advice on relevant questions. His work is meticulous and his response time is truly outstanding. Since we have interactions with several other attorneys for other issues or in other countries by necessity, my comment that Mark is the best is based on a significant field of comparison.

It is rare to call Mark Weinberg and not get straight through to talk with him. If he is out of the office or for some other reason is unable to talk with you immediately, he returns the call the same day or sends an e-mail to let you know when he will be able to respond. He would rather lose a client than compromise his integrity, whcih makes him a totally trustworthy and objective counselor. He is particularly knowledgeable about nonprofit law, and he is careful to point out potential conflicts of interest and actions which could be misinterpreted even if they might be, in the strictest sense, legal. Mark has been our attorney for over 25 years, and he has never failed to provide wise counsel every time we have called upon him.

My wife and I had some irrevocable trusts from many years ago that were never really explained to us. I was referred to Cheryl after my father passed away. He had set up Trusts for me and my brother and sister and I was the initial Trustee. Cheryl was excellent in helping me deal with my father's estate and setting up the three Trusts. Until my father passed, we had no idea that our inheritance would be in the form of irrevocable Trusts instead of outright to us. Cheryl helped us to make sure that we did not violate the terms of the Trusts. She helped us set them up to make them irrevocable and she gave us detailed instructions about how to manage the Trusts so that we did not violate my father's wishes. She also helped with the probate estate. Cheryl is helping us with ongoing Trust Administration, including taxes. We would be lost without her.

My wife and I were referred to Ms. Johnson by our financial advisor, who said that we may have to pay estate taxes. We met with Ms. Johnson and she did an amazing job explaining complex tax concepts to us--she used diagrams and had prepared a strategy guide for us before our first meeting. We ended up hiring her to draft our wills and trusts and to draft two advanced irrevocable trusts (GRATs) that moved some assets out of our taxable estates. We never knew that these GRATs existed or how they worked!

I would just like to say first and foremost it was an absolute pleasure working with Mr. Mercer. I had an old case from nearly a decade ago that I was looking to get expunged. Mr. Mercer always made me feel as though my case was a priority and he handled each and every obstacle we came across head on and with outstanding professionalism and just fine attorney work. I ended up getting my conviction turned into a probation before judgement (which negates the conviction) and a few months later the probation before judgment was expunged so not only was the conviction erased its now off my record completely. Ms. Fait is the absolute worst attorney. She represented me and was unethical, dishonest, she literally lied to me soo much. I had a custody case with my husband that had been going on for years and I needed a strong attorney and I thought I had found that when I read the google reviews for Fait & Dilima. I figured out that they are just dishonest and willing to do whatever it take to "win." The only issue was that they had me lie in my case and they literally didn't read their previous motions and their new motions said a different story. I ended up losing my case for a number of reasons and all of them point back to Ms. Fait and her team! 1. She had me lie and told me that it was fine and that I had her 2. The judge and the plaintiff's attorney pointed out the inaccuracies in the stories based on the motions alone as the stories didn't match up! All of that is Ms. Fait and her firms fault! 3. Ms. Fait & her team did not prepare me properly for court and the cross examination by plaintiff's counsel. I am a well educated individual and I should have never worked with her and her firm... They are grossly negligent and they simply do not care about their clients! It is all about the $ for her!

I owned a house in the United States and as a Profesional of an International Organization I move from country of residence from time to time. When I returned to the United States in 2016, I decided to sell a house I owned in Fairfax. As a G-4 visa holder, the IRS withholds a percentage of the home's value (10%). The challenge began when the accountant I hired for the required paperwork recommended that my wife and I should proceed with separate claims since the property was in both or our names.
This procedure appears to have created confusion with IRS officials. In short, they returned my 50% very fast but did not return the 50% claimed in my wife's name (which was a very important sum on money). We fought hard for almost three years submitting the information the IRS required. Every time we sent a refund request, the IRS send it back indicating either that something is missing or that it is not the correct procedure. We even went personally to the IRS, and surprisingly it seemed that no one knew how t do it.
When we were about to lose the money withheld (any application seems to expire after three years), we happened to meet Mr. Pontius and his firm because of a course on FIRPTA offered to members of the Credit Union to which I belong. After a video conference with him, Mr Pontius took my case and surprisingly in about a month, I received the check form IRS.
His work is fantastic, and he sure knows the exact procedures perfectly, so I highly recommend him and his firm with 100% of certainty

Gary Altman is an excellent estate attorney. My wife and I initially came in back in 2008 to have an old estate plan reviewed and, due to significant changes in our lives (children, more assets, etc.), as well as new laws, our documents had to be redone. Gary executed the documents painlessly and quickly. Since then, they've settled my mother's estate, done estate planning for several friends and family members, and also updated our documents. Their support team is a pleasure to work with as well. Everyone we have interacted with has been courteous and professional and they make sure to send us important reminders every year to make sure our documents stay current. We continue to be very satisfied with their work and feel very comfortable referring them to others.

I sought her legal help. My case (according to her) was not complex, and when asked during consultation I was told that a resolution plan will be provided within the estimated cost expenditure. After months of invoicing, charging a lot of fees, no plan was provided instead more money was asked. I had to give several reminders, to provide me a work product other than just receiving invoices. It was disheartening to experience such poor customer service and misleading of a client. The work product when provided had mistakes with several incorrect statements. With such a terrible experience, a lot of money charged no concrete result, I had to end the agreement. Even during closure more money was charged in invoices for work that was very bad and questionable.

My siblings and I hired Mr Canseco to attend to my Mothers Financial matters after her death. My emails and phone calls were ignored. My sisters persistent phone calls and emails were finally responded to after 5 months. If we had not already sent him the original Tax records, we would have gone to another attorney. When the work was finally completed, I received a outrageous invoice for the services.

I hired Mr Canseco in 2011 to represent us in the US Tax Court. After getting his retainer fee, he only filed a 1 or 2 page petition in Court and then waited 8 months to surrender my case. He tried to settle my case without my express knowledge and consent with the IRS. He made a mistake when I found out about this so I fired him. I took over the case and I found out several things he never did that was his obligation to do as my counsel.
He never responded to IRS request for documents which I already gave him. After months of request, the IRS had to file 2 motions in court to get this and the Court rendered an order to make him produce the docs and interrogatories. He never complied with it. His game plan was to surrender my case in the hope that I will go along with him to compromise it for just a small amount (15 cents to a dollar), But he was sloppy and I found out all what he did to my case.
I wrote him thru emails and demanded a written apology and return of my money but he never did nor even bothered to directly reply to my emails. He never had the intention to prepare for trial since he advised us that our presence is no longer needed and we can leave for the Philippines and retire.

Lawrence Wachtel is the Trustee of my late aunt's estate. Lawrence emailed me, that he will not release the bequest to me, unless I sign a waiver, and release of liability.
