Dragged his timeline a few times.Other than that Dan had his hands full with my dad's case and carried out his mission. Had no other lawyer to compare cost of service with. Has a personal Coordinator that works with him (Kathy Cline) that I cannot say enough about. Returns calls and goes beyond her service to listen and make sure to get answers for you.

George Aljoe in the Seink office was a big help in our Ohio Medicaid reapplication process. George helped us with the details that were required, and he understood the Stark County JFS process and people who were involved. He also helped us over a year ago with the QIT Miller Trust Fund, now required by Ohio Medicaid. Good job, George!

Ron was hired by our family in 2005 after the untimely death of our father. With assets in Florida and Ohio, and virtually no estate planning beyond a simple will, we needed a firm that we could trust to help my mother immediately and my brothers and sisters longer term to determine how to proceed with an estate plan. Ron and his team were very helpful to help us with practical advice and options. They educated each of us every step of the way on the ins and outs of estate and probate law and how to organize a trust for the estate. And with offices in both Florida and Ohio, they were able to help us meet each state's probate requirements. With Ron's expertise and experience, we were able to develop a plan we were well prepared for my mother's passing in 2008 and we as a family came together. In fact, ten years later, we are still all together due to how well Ron helped prepare us for an effective estate plan. Thanks Ron and your team!!

Corryn has been so kind and understanding with all that's been happening with my parents and their health issues. She is so accommodating with our crazy work schedules and very patient when explaining the legal parts of how a family trust works. She is very compassionate when dealing with both my parents and helping them understand how a trust works for them and the care that they require. It's also very comforting to know that she is a RN and can give advice or explain some of the health care involved with my parents care. She's also helped me with different ways on how to approach my parents about their care, what their wishes are and what's best for them. I would definitely recommend her to anyone going through the same issues that our family is currently facing.

I reached out to Corryn regarding senior planning for my aging parents. Corryn communicated very well with me and my parents during the entire process. She met with my parents and patiently explained in detail the services they should consider. She answered their questions and concerns compassionately as many of the topics were sensitive in nature. Corryn never attempted to upsell them any services that she felt was not necessary. She completed all the filings and documents in a timely manner and provided my parents an easy to use binder of all of the services. I would highly recommend Corryn.

Ben Egel represented us in numerous matters affecting our small business; lease negotiations, landlord discrepancies, contract review, etc. While larger law firms may overlook you, Ben will work hard to protect and fight for you. Often small businesses get behind early in legal battles, but Ben makes it feel like you have the power of an army on your side and respecting your budget at the same time. I had severe addiction and mental health issues and obtained Gina as a legal guardian The crack cocaine had really damaged me though those have now vanished and I 've been crack free 4 8 y. and sober for 3 yrs.Gina put up with a lot of psychological abuse from my temporarily damaged psyche. The abusive language was embarrassing enough to review. One of the other reviews mentioned her empathy and I agree.I m convinced she realized I couldn't help some of it starting with the non stop talking and endless interrupting. I was not very kind and owe a portion of gratitude to her for having patience and Christian compassion so I can miraculously claim 3 years clean.I never would have tolerated my behavior.

Attorneys Todd Gurney and Brian Eisen did an amazing job of prosecuting our family's wrongful death/medical malpractice case that was filed after the tragic loss of our oldest son. Their knowledge and expertise in both the pertinent medical fields and the legal details of our case made all the difference in the final disposition of the action. Todd guided us through the entire process very well, which was very helpful during this very tough time for our family. There were never any delays in response from Todd or Brian when we called - this was a major plus for us. While Todd was the lead Attorney on our case, both Todd and Brian worked together very well to make sure all the bases were well covered. Both Attorneys were just so thoughtful, and always kept our family's emotional state in mind during all discussions about the case - this meant so much to us! Additionally, Alexandra in the office always made sure we were well informed about any important case events that were coming up - we were never caught unaware of any upcoming case activities. If we ever had any questions or needed any clarifications, Alex was always able to get us the needed information in a timely manner. Our entire family was more than satisfied with how the Eisen Law Firm conducted themselves, and how they successfully prosecuted our case. We would strongly recommend both Todd and Brian to anyone looking for an excellent, competent and caring personal injury attorney firm.

I've only briefly interacted with the team at Eisen Law Firm and unfortunately I will not have the pleasure of working with them as timing does not currently permit, however I can confidently write this review because although brief, every interaction I had with this team had a positive impact on me. Given the astounding lack of empathy and compassion I have felt from the overwhelming majority of other attorneys I've consulted with, talking to a team with such dedication to their clients and true passion for what they do almost made me emotional. I think my first interaction was with Alexandra, and she empathized with my situation immediately, took detailed notes, and asked questions that truly demonstrated the personal approach they take when assessing each client, they listen. She made sure to go over everything with Brian and he called me the next morning as she told me he would. My conversation with Brian was extremely pleasant and made me feel heard, I finally felt like what I was saying mattered and that resonated deeply with me. I was touched to hear about how much he invests in each client, and most memorably, the fact that he only takes on a few cases at a time to completely focus on each one. I can tell that he really cares and there's no doubt that he gives it his all. I was so compelled to work with him that I couldn't take his first no for an answer and asked him to reconsider (lol), and he could have ignored me but he didn't, he took the time to let respond and let me know why he couldn't take on my case. His reason for declining reflected his genuine character, as it was due to the fact that he did not want the possibility of taking on another case to interfere with his focus on his current clients. I'm devastated, but I had to write this review for future potential clients at Eisen Law Firm, because I know what it feels like to feel like no one cares about something that was so valuable to you. Eisen Law Firm checked every single box for me and if you're reading this and in need of a light and some hope in our legal system, please give them a call.

My Deceased husband has been a client for 15+ years at Kelley Ferraro. Over the years I have dealt with many professional employees from attorneys to secretaries to probate, etc. I have two employees that have stood out over the years one being Bidea Kelly. I met Bidea through a business that I had had and she had turned me on to Kelley Ferraro. At that time she worked in probate and always was very personal. Bidea would give you as much information as she could or turn you on to another employee that would be able to answer your questions. The other employee is Valerie, the settlement coordinator. sometimes in a large law firm It's almost the luck of the draw what employee you get to speak to and for the last eight months I have been blessed to get Valerie. When speaking with her whether it's a question or she calls to give me information it's almost like she takes it personal as if she understands what I'm going through. I have gotten more information from Valerie in eight months then I have in the 15 years that I've been dealing With this law firm. There is much protocol / paperwork dealing with a lawsuit, as well as different departments. I always felt in the last 14 years that my case had been Unintentionally lost in the shuffle. NOT with Valerie, she knows exactly what chain the protocol has to take before a settlement and never hesitates to explain why a settlement would take as long as it does! Valerie has worked very hard on my case and I'm sure she does this for other clients as well. Of all the employees I have come in contact with I feel confident in saying Valerie enjoys her job and takes pride in being the best she can be for Kelley Ferraro !! She's a keeper!!! Thank you , Linda Messina

The attorney that handled my wife mesothelioma case didn't want to do anything. I had to do all of the research. She stated that she didn't know where to get the legal records from. I gave her phone numbers fir witnesses and she never wrote the correct numbers down and nor did she contact anyone. They only want easy money, they don't care about thier clients. They only want an easy payday.

What a Trusts Lawyer Can Do for You

A trusts lawyer specializes in creating and managing trusts, which are legal entities that allow individuals to transfer assets to beneficiaries while maintaining control over how and when those assets are distributed. Trusts are used for estate planning, asset protection, tax planning, and ensuring the financial security of loved ones. Trusts lawyers help clients choose the right type of trust for their needs, draft trust documents, and advise on the administration and management of trusts.

Whether you're planning to pass on your assets to your heirs, protect your wealth from creditors, or provide for a disabled family member, a trusts lawyer can help you establish a trust that meets your financial and personal goals.

When Should I Hire a Trusts Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a trusts lawyer in various situations, particularly when you're planning for the future distribution of your assets or protecting your wealth. Common reasons to hire a trusts lawyer include:

  • Estate planning: If you want to ensure that your assets are distributed according to your wishes, a lawyer can help you create a revocable or irrevocable trust to avoid probate and provide for your heirs.
  • Asset protection: If you want to protect your assets from creditors, lawsuits, or potential future liabilities, a lawyer can help you establish a trust to shield your wealth.
  • Special needs planning: If you have a disabled family member, a lawyer can create a special needs trust to provide for their care without affecting their eligibility for government benefits.
  • Tax planning: If you're looking to minimize estate taxes or manage tax liabilities, a lawyer can help you create tax-advantageous trusts, such as a credit shelter trust or charitable remainder trust.
  • Charitable giving: If you want to leave a legacy through charitable donations, a lawyer can help you set up a charitable trust to ensure your donations are managed according to your wishes.
  • Business succession planning: If you own a business and want to ensure a smooth transition of ownership, a lawyer can help you establish a trust to pass the business on to your heirs or chosen successors.

Hiring a trusts lawyer early in the estate planning process ensures that your assets are protected and your wishes are clearly documented, reducing the chances of disputes after your death.

What Does a Trusts Lawyer Do?

A trusts lawyer provides a variety of legal services to help individuals create, manage, and administer trusts. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Drafting trust documents: Preparing the legal documents needed to create the trust, ensuring it is tailored to your specific goals and complies with state and federal laws.
  • Choosing the right type of trust: Assisting clients in selecting the most appropriate type of trust for their needs, whether it's a revocable trust, irrevocable trust, living trust, or special needs trust.
  • Trust administration: Guiding trustees through their legal responsibilities, including managing assets, making distributions to beneficiaries, and filing tax returns.
  • Modifying or terminating trusts: Helping modify or terminate trusts if circumstances change, such as changes in tax laws, family situations, or personal preferences.
  • Protecting beneficiaries' interests: Structuring trusts to protect the interests of beneficiaries, especially if there are concerns about financial management, disability, or dependency issues.
  • Minimizing estate taxes: Assisting clients in structuring their trusts to minimize or avoid estate taxes, ensuring more of the estate passes to beneficiaries.
  • Handling disputes: Mediating or representing clients in court if disputes arise among beneficiaries or between trustees and beneficiaries.

How Are Trusts Lawyers Paid?

Trusts lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the trust and the type of legal work involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Flat fee: For drafting basic trusts, such as revocable living trusts or special needs trusts, many lawyers charge a flat fee. This can range from $1,000 to $5,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the trust.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex trust planning, ongoing trust administration, or resolving disputes, some lawyers charge by the hour. Hourly rates typically range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Retainer: For long-term trust administration or complex estate planning cases, some lawyers may require a retainer, an upfront payment that covers ongoing services.
  • Contingency fee (rare): In rare cases, particularly in disputes involving the administration of a trust, lawyers may work on a contingency fee basis, getting paid only if they successfully recover funds or resolve a legal dispute in your favor.

Always discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the total cost of services.

How Much Does a Trusts Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a trusts lawyer depends on the complexity of the trust, the lawyer’s experience, and the fee structure. General cost estimates include:

  • Basic trust creation: For simple trusts, such as revocable living trusts, fees may range from $1,000 to $3,000.
  • Complex trust creation: For sophisticated estate plans involving multiple trusts, tax planning strategies, or special needs considerations, legal fees may range from $5,000 to $10,000 or more.
  • Trust administration: If you are serving as a trustee and need ongoing legal advice, hourly rates for trust administration can range from $150 to $500 or more.
  • Dispute resolution: Costs for litigation or mediation in trust disputes may range from $5,000 to $50,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the case.

Be sure to get a detailed cost estimate from your lawyer during the consultation to ensure the services fit within your budget.

Top Questions to Ask a Trusts Lawyer

Before hiring a trusts lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with creating trusts?
Ensure the lawyer has experience drafting trusts and managing trust administration for clients with similar goals or asset structures.
  2. What types of trusts do you recommend for my situation?
Ask the lawyer to explain the different types of trusts available and which ones best suit your needs.
  3. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate of the total cost.
  4. What are the tax implications of the trust?
Ensure the lawyer can explain how the trust will affect your taxes and strategies to minimize tax liability.
  5. How long will it take to set up the trust?
Ask for a timeline for creating and finalizing the trust documents.
  6. Will you handle the trust administration?
If ongoing management is required, inquire whether the lawyer will assist with trust administration or if you'll need a separate trustee.
  7. Can you help resolve disputes if they arise?
Ask about the lawyer's experience in resolving trust disputes.

How to Check the Credibility of a Trusts Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable trusts lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary actions.
  • Look for trust law experience: Review their website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in estate planning and trusts.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for feedback on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients who can speak to their experience with the lawyer.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications such as Certified Estate Planning Law Specialist (EPLS) or memberships in organizations like the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your first consultation with a trusts lawyer, bring the following:

  • List of assets: Prepare a list of all your assets, including real estate, bank accounts, investments, retirement accounts, and personal property.
  • List of beneficiaries: Provide names and contact information of individuals or organizations you want to name as beneficiaries.
  • Existing estate planning documents: Bring copies of any existing wills, trusts, or other estate planning documents.
  • Financial information: Bring financial statements, tax returns, and other relevant financial documentation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions about the trust creation process, fees, and how the trust will protect your assets and beneficiaries.
  • Goals for the trust: Clearly outline your objectives, such as asset protection, tax minimization, or provisions for beneficiaries, so the lawyer can tailor the trust to your needs.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can help the lawyer assess your situation effectively and receive the best possible legal advice for creating and managing your trust.
