I met with several lawyers and he has been the best. I am a small business owner. The IRS was trying to say that I owed over 90k in taxes due an audit which i was was represented in effectively. He saved me and my family. Also, he set up an estate plan for me so that my family and the business would be taken care of in the event that anything happens to me or the business.

Susan drafted a family plan for my wife and me---will, revocable trust, healthcare directive, and various related documents. She took the time to understand our situation and wishes and to explain why it is advisable to address things one way versus another. She has a talent for explaining clearly and instills confidence while doing so. Our current situation is not overly complex, but Susan demonstrated deep knowledge of potential complications and crafted a plan that will accommodate various scenarios. A few years ago, my sister and I found our selves in a most difficult circumstance that centered around a legal issue that my father, who was dying in the hospital, had failed to resolve. Suffice to say, we were emotionally wrought and desperate for help. I had reached out to a few other lawyers, most of whom never bothered to return my call and if they did, were more interested in their up-front fees, than offering helpful counsel.
Fortunately, we found Brian and he immediately understood the gravity of the situation and was able to map out a plan of action. His calm demeanor, and solid knowledge of the law, kept an already difficult situation from becoming worse. Talk about going the extra mile, he even came to the hospital to meet my father – not a place most lawyers go -- and make sure that the matter was resolved properly.
After our father passed, Brian was instrumental in taking care of some of difficult and confusing paperwork including title-transfers and other filings that we had no idea were legally required. He also counseled us on the importance of having a will, or a trust, the value of advance health-care-directives, and other important pre-need paperwork.
Brian Sheppard is first and foremost a man of integrity and principle, well-versed in the nuances of the law, and fundamentally a man with the courage to do what is right. Over the years, I have had occasion to call him with a simple a question and he has gentlemanly and generously resolved the matter without an outrageous bill.
Our only regret is that we weren’t able to avail ourselves of Brian’s services earlier.

Stay far away from this guy, he is way over priced, breaks the rules of Professional Conduct. On many occasions he charged me $90.00 to answer some questions by e-mail with one liner answers saying basically " I m working on it" completely avoiding my questions. He is very arrogant, and even had the audacity, after I had informed him of something I had done, to say "Nope never happened". Unbelievable! I am sick about the amount of money he has been able to get from me to my detriment. If I could change things he would not have gotten 1 dime of my money.

Marshal is a nice guy but a terrible attorney. While representing me in a trust dispute he neglected to include stipulations for both the estate increasing or decreasing in value. As a result I was protected only for an estate that remained the same or increased in value. Unfortunately it decreased. My adversary was protected in either scenerio by a more experienced attorney. In addition, Marshal recommended using a conservator, without explaining the "true cost." I would have been better off accepting my adversary's initial offer and never hiring Marshal! This was a VERY expensive lesson. Don't make my mistake!!
