My dad and I hired Mr. Holberg to handle my mom's estate after another attorney walked away from the bar and many cases. It was a mess and something that should have been handled over a year ago. After reaching out to more than 4 attorneys to help with a complicated , 100 year old land deed which needed a cleared title, I was wholly discouraged. Each professional from whom I sought help barely listened to the facts of my story as they quickly surmised that the work required to clear this title would outweigh what they could charge to do it.
But then I found Mike! Mike returned my phone call with only a few moments before the close of the business day, on the eve of his birthday. Due to my previous experiences and the late hour, I expected to hear yet another rushed excuse for not taking up my case. But to my delight, Mike listened to the details of my heirloom property.
He asked questions, paused often in thought. He was actually contemplating solutions! In this initial conversation, he went straight to work at his computer all the whole asking deeper questions and contemplating possible roadblocks. He pulled up some details about the plot. He checked the assessors database and looked for local title companies who might provide us with other details needed before any real legal work could begin. And all of this effort within a few moments of chatting with me!
What a kind and sympathetic gentleman. Here was a man who was truly passionate about his profession. He seems to truly enjoy the work of untying legal knots simply for the challenge of it, the satisfaction of solving a puzzle just because it was intriguing. Where the other lawyers spoke first about payment and money, Mike spoke first about the specific legal processes required, and considerations that might make things tricky, like any good craftsman does when assessing a project.

Do not use this company for custody cases. I met a lawyer my first visit broke everything down for her then never saw her again. Had a paralegal who barely kept in touch with us she tried her best then a week before court we finally met the lawyer assigned to us and he was great and worked to get to know everything but ultimately they dropped the ball and we had to settle out of court just to get this horrible experience over with. Paid 3000 deposit the first time I met the lady with a 250 for the appointment and now after paying on average 1200 a month for almost a year they are keeping my 3000 and making me pay an additional 1800 for settling out of court in one of the easiest co parenting 50/50 custody cases probably ever. It has been a sham and a humongous waste of time and a endless money pit. Save your money. Call someone else
