I suffered an unusual and complex injury at work. After trying to navigate workers comp for over a yr I finally decided to hire an attorney. I settled on Atkinson-Gerber and was represented by Thomas Atkinson.
What I handed Tom was a mess. I’d strongly advise an injured worker to seek counsel quickly. Tom took my injury and all the baggage that had accumulated in the year and a half since my injury, sorted it out and did what he does. He represented his client. Tom has good intuition. During my deposition, for example, he’d cut me off when necessary or let me go when it was wise. Tom isn’t new to this like us injured folk.
I’d recommend the guy without reservation whatsoever.
He’s a good man.

I was referred to Tom following an automobile accident while working. My employer never reported this and subsequently fired me afterwards. It was right at the holidays and being a single mom of two kids I was jobless, injured, no vehicle and no idea on how to precede. I couldn't even tell my story without breaking into tears. Tom and his team took my case and waisted no time getting the ball rolling. He understood the urgency of my situation and immediately acted. Just speaking with him left me feeling like a million pound weight was lifted off of me. When he notified me of our first hearing a week later I was shocked as these things never seem to move quickly enough. The empathy, grace and attention Tom and his team gave was outstanding. I hired Gabriel to help with a Workmen's Comp. case. He was very professional, easy to get a hold of, and returned phone calls quickly. Joan Hallock is a terrific mediator. Our firm engaged her to mediate a case. Joan was knowledgeable, thorough, and handled the mediation professionally and skillfully. Joan was able to effectively communicate the positions of both parties to the point that a settlement was reached. Joan related well with the injured worker and was able to gain his confidence.Joan's style made it very easy for the injured worker to understand the salient arguments and positions and to be able to distinguish them from the superfluous ones. It's been really great working with Pat and Robbin. Individual cases are likely all pretty complicated (even the "simple" ones) and mine was no exception. I know Robbin spent quite a bit of time working to gather information, make calls to various interested parties (many multiples of times) to move the process forward, and communicated with me whenever needed. Pat was able to go through and explain the process and procedures, prep me for what to expect and give me sage advice on how to tell my story.
