I was involved in a serious auto accident where the other driver was at fault. When I tried to handle the claim on my own, the other driver's insurance started playing games with me.

I got rear ended as I was sitting at a red light by someone who fell asleep behind the wheel. It was my first accident and I was pretty rattled. Since the accident wasn't my fault, my attorney, Lance Rupp was able to get me treated and I was compensated as well. We shopped around and spoke with 6 other attorneys before finding Richard Thomas Collins. We knew he was "the one" when he took time to listen to every aspect of our case and even advised us for awhile, before we officially hired him. And then when we did sign on with him, he tried to be reasonable about the fee and not charge more than necessary. His attitude was to see how things go and maybe he wouldn't need to charge more.
Other attorneys wouldn't even talk beyond 10 minutes or so without demanding a retainer fee.
Richard Collins remained realistic and careful not to promise positive results that might not happen, but at the same time, he was thorough and quoted actual penal codes that pertained to our case. He did his homework and made sure the details were correct. The letters he wrote on our behalf were so outstanding and accurate that it helped us get through rough days and cheered us up to read them!
It appears that the outcome of the case is exactly what we had hoped for, and we attribute that result to Richard Collins' expertise and knowledge, for our type of case.
He was completely professional yet sensitive to what we were going through as real people with feelings.
His manner is so pleasant and reassuring.
He was always good to return calls and kept us informed.
Having worked with other attorneys on other unrelated issues in the past, we wish we had known about him sooner!

My dealings with Mr. Hughes went very well.
He was very understanding of my situation and helped me through a very difficult time in my life after the fall out from my car accident.
Would I hire Mr. Hughes again? In a heartbeat.
The only suggestion I would offer to anyone who is getting ready to litigate is to keep accurate documents and files. Because I did this this, we both received a better outcome.

After being involved in a minor motor vehicle accident (I was rear ended on the highway), a friend referred me to Mr. Hughes. At the time, I wasn't interested in contacting an attorney as I didn't feel my injuries were significant. However, after a few days, it became evident that my injuries were more serious than I had originally thought. I was diagnosed with whiplash and my doctor referred me for physical therapy. On top of an already hectic lifestyle and now physical therapy appointments twice weekly, I had little time and emotional energy to deal with the insurance company myself. I reluctantly contacted Mr. Hughes just to see if there was something he could do to help me.
Not being a litigious person, I was apprehensive. I was pleasantly surprised with Mr. Hughes' knowledge, professionalism and considerate nature. He explained the process to me, along with the expected outcome. At no time did I feel like he was taking advantage of my situation or trying to gouge the other party involved, like I had once expected from a personal injury attorney.
