I have been a client of Daniel Horne for over ten years and a friend for just as long. From the first moment we met he treated me with compassion and hope. When my world was quickly crumbling down Daniel provided the strength and confidence to carry on and fight the good fight. Without him and his wonderful spirit I would surely be dead or worse. From the moment Attorney Menzer took my case — auto accident, medical and other costs pursued by the other driver — I felt that I was in good hands. He was professional and pleasant, knowledgeable so that I knew from the start what the likely outcome would be as well as the appropriate paths that would be taken to reach that outcome. He did not need to spend a lot of time on my case because he knew what he was doing and was, therefore, extremely effective (successfully encouraging my insurance company to agree to settle for my maximum insured amount — the company was threatening to push for much less, possibly landing the case in court). We had a complicated case concerning a nursing home, so we went to several lawyers concerning this case. We were not impressed by any of them. Not until we met Matt Menzer that we knew instantly that he was the cream of the crop. He was by far the best!! Matt was extraordinarily intelligent, extremely knowledgeable, and also very likable. He was a good listener, communicator, and he explained things in a way that we could grasp and understand. He and his team always treated us with the utmost respect when we asked our many questions and talked with them on the phone.
Matt was able to absorb and comprehend large amounts of information that we gave him concerning the nursing home issues. He was able to summarize all this information into something manageable that we could understand. His compassion, empathy, and thoughtfulness was so appreciated.

If you’re in doubt, just call Dubin Law. I was hit by an SUV as a pedestrian that caused a traumatic brain injury and they were absolutely indispensable in helping me recover. Coming back from all my injuries to this capacity wouldn’t have been possible without them. They stressed my physical wellness and took care of all the legal headaches I hadn’t any bandwidth for and I’m so grateful they did.
My lawyers Betsylew and Josh were personable, courteous and very effective. After talking to lawyers from other firms, my introductory meeting with Josh made hiring them an easy decision. Mr. Dubin seemed like a good guy with a brilliant smile. I only met him in passing. My caseworkers were always on point and never let me hang. The office manager Vivian Wang is one of my favorite people. Beyond being a tremendous human being, she went out of her way to make sure I was ok. I lost my mind and wasn’t for a while, but her check-ins sometimes made all the difference. That lady is brilliant and her kindness is something I’ll forget. She makes the world a better place. Her office runs amazingly. Everyone communicates on a high level and always keeps their word.
If you’re injured, please take good care and look after yourself. If you’re not versed in law, please consider not shouldering the legal burden on top of recovering. I couldn’t have managed and advocated for myself. Dubin Law stood by me for over three years as I learned to do basic things such as walk, read proficiency, be in sunlight and sit and have a conversation with people again. I explained about my accident and injury at first in my primitive English, she was very sympathetic and really feeling for me. I just left all to her, didn’t have to do anything. No narcissist, abuser, bully, intimidator, gas lighter, manipulator, or exploiter are too big for Kirk Davis! My case was complicated and multi-faceted. I was injured when I was rear ended by another car. I sustained a concussion and neck trauma. Because of the concussion, I was not mentally functioning very well. GLP Attorney's was recommended by both my doctor and massage therapist. They could see that I was not functioning well. The other person's insurance company was pressuring me to fill out forms and sign them. I couldn't even think clearly to make simple decisions. So, I and my husband met with Cydney to discuss what was happening. Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine what I would have done without her help and support. I ended up getting treatment and help all the way through this ordeal. Because of Cydney's help and support, I did not have to deal with the other insurance company. She handled everything so that I could just concentrate on getting well. I was in a really bad hit and run car accident June 6, 2023. I took my time to review plenty of attorneys before I found Boohoff Law. The reviews I read about them were unbelievailable. Jocelyn and Linsey were the key players in helping complete my case when I was rear-ended. I was recommended them through word of mouth and I would definitely recommend them to others as well - the process was kept clear and they communicated the process very well with me. This case was involving a car accident. My wife and I consulted with, then hired Jim.
Jim was immediately sympathetic with our situation and genuinely concerned for our overall health, which was refreshing. He helped to build our healing and confidence after the situation. I chair the board of a large condo building in Portland that hired Tony to reach attractive settlements in two separate building issues. I recommend him for his willingness to help legal committees avoid the intra-building anger that accompanies such unfortunate events and his readiness to settle as soon as attractive terms can be achieved.
The first complaint we had was for a piece of building equipment. We had initially retained a different lawyer but quickly became concerned that her desire to litigate until all appeals were exhausted wasn't in keeping with the low-drama solution our owners wanted. After switching, Tony negotiated a settlement that avoided court by tying any future payments to actual future repairs instead of insisting on an upfront check.
Our second issue was much larger in both dollars and breadth but the board wanted to go with an attorney that would guide the case to a good compromise and try to avoid spiraling into never ending appeals. Tony prepared for trial throughout the case and pre-trial motions were a big part of setting the stage for a very successful settlement but always focused on the goal: a pre-trial settlement that would fully protect owners. Our owners wanted the pain that litigation causes to be recognized by their counsel and have that counsel deliver results; Tony did so.

I chair the Board of Directors at the Encore (177 unit high-rise condo in Portland, OR). The Encore condo owners association entered into an engagement agreement with Tony Rafel in August 2012 for general counsel and other legal services following turnover of condo association responsibility from the developer to owners.
Since that time Mr. Rafel has provided very effective legal service to the Encore on a wide range of important matters, including negotiating successful agreements on building defect, mechanical and plumbing system problems, as well as advising and supporting the Board on contracts, resolutions and policy and rules matters.
As volunteer Board members, we appreciate Tony's solid knowledge and experience in condo association law and especially defect claims. He is able to communicate complex legal and technical issues in a way that homeowners can understand and take appropriate action through the condo owners association and the Board.
Tony is very responsive to telephone and email inquiries and readily available to meet with the Board or property management staff, often during evening meetings. He is also respectful of our association's limited budget for legal support and very effective at helping us to balance cost and benefit considerations when approaching legal matters.
His sound judgment and excellent legal advice has greatly benefited the Encore and its owners. He has enabled the Encore to weather the inevitable bumps and conflicts in first few years following owner control of the condo association and put us on a more stable path for success.

I had an IRA investment that had gone bad due to the neglect of the manager of the hedge fund in which the IRA was invested. Tony met with me, and quickly got up to speed on the 6" stack of documents supporting my complex situation. Since the hedge fund was located in Oregon, and I live in Washington state, it was imperative that my attorney be licensed in both states, which Tony is. Thanks to his comprehensive grasp of the situation, he wrote a compelling letter to the hedge fund manager on my behalf. Fortunately, we did not have to resort to filing a lawsuit, but Tony instead was able to negotiate an excellent settlement. The settlement took several months to negotiate, but Tony kept after it, and made sure it didn't languish. After the settlement agreement was signed, he kept on top of the payment schedule, and even had to press for payment in a couple of instances. At this point, all but the final payment have been received, and I fully expect to receive that final one as well! Throughout the process, Tony responded quickly to my emails, and was very professional. He provided sound advice, and was a firm negotiator on my behalf. He was a delight to work with, and I highly recommend him!

If MRM has been practicing 35 years we were her among her early clients. She was amazing the and still is. I have not needed an attorney much since 1981 but when I have she is the best advisor. Never has forced a litigation on any. She did took my husband I through the end of a horrid family court matter that had taken on a life of its own even after remarriages . Former attorneys had settled nothing to the satisfaction of any party, including new husband or new wife. We did prevail on a permanent maintenance beyond remarriage of the recipient or payment of attorney fees by husband. She took it to appeals and won on both. She did not further damage the already fragile relationship between divorced parents of a fragile preteen in the process. After getting hit by a drunk driver on 405, my boyfriend and I were lucky to be alive. I was recently involved in a very challenging legal matter that I was told was essentially unwinnable by several trusted confidants. I turned to the Osborn Machler firm based on their reputation with difficult and complex cases, and Austin Neff was assigned as the lead attorney in my case.
From the beginning, Mr. Neff and his colleagues concurred that my case was indeed an uphill battle. But Austin immediately began to outline a legal strategy he calculated would maximize our chances of success. What stood out initially to me was his ability to explain complex legal terms and processes in a way that I could easily understand, which helped alleviate much of my anxiety—which, I admit, was through the roof.
As someone with very little exposure to the legal system, much of the strategy Austin constructed seemed almost counterintuitive to me at first. But he was very patient in explaining the reasoning for his approach at every step of the way, as I peppered him with endless layman’s questions about the law. By the time we were ready for the hearing, I almost felt like I had a couple semesters of law school under my belt.
