I was terminated from a large fortune 100 financial services company at age 59. I was in sales and had been employed by this company and predecessors for 26 years. I had built a large and profitable book of business over my tenure however my termination was due to my inability to meet new business sales goals which had been dramatically increased shortly before the termination. My case was a wrongful termination. I had a medical condition which required surgery. Two weeks after surgery my employer terminated me, even though the previous month my annual review was all positive and indicated everything was fine. To add additional injury I was over 60 years old yet not old enough to retire.
Like most everyone in the year long process for justice, I was under enormous emotional stress. Kaarin did not get wraped up in my emotions but stayed focused on the case.
It was clear Kaarin and Halunen knew the aplicable laws, it was assuring to watch Kaarin in depositions asking the right questions to get to the underlying issues in order to prove my case.
Kaarin showed her expreience and skills in the mediation process with the defendant and mediator.
The case has come to a favrable end for me and much of the stress I've had has been relieved by obtaining justice.

Lawyers do many things, different kinds of law and expertise, different types of specialties even within those different arenas. Prosecution to defense I think many imagine themselves to be "champions of the people". Then there are those like Emma Denny and her team of lawyers and paralegals that truly embody the people's champion ethos.
Employment lawyers do not get paid unless the case is settled outside of court or won at trial. Thus, when an employment lawyer signs onto your case they have just as much skin in the game as us. More even. All the upfront costs of time spent writing and filing briefs with the court, any experts needed to provide expert opinions or arbitration for settlements and every hour of their time, all on their dime. Meaning when an employment attorney takes your case, they not only have to have confidence in their ability to win or settle it they also are putting their confidence, belief and faith in YOU. It's a team.
After I was wrongfully terminated, I called nearly 15 employment attorneys. I was contacted by 8 paralegals for an interview about the circumstances of my case. I was then contacted by only 3 attorneys interested in my case. My case had a wild card element to it in that it had to do with new substance legalization laws interacting with employment law that did not have a lot of precedent. Considering how many I contacted and how many showed interest this told me my case was not a slam dunk and thus was seen as a risk for many of the attorneys I contacted. 2 of them told me I should contact the state, or another lawyer with different skills and that the grey associated with the new laws was a dealbreaker for them.
Then Emma Denny called. The biggest difference in the first 10 mins of speaking with her was her preparedness and absolute confidence. She had the legal stances, strategies and statutes already laid out without ever talking to me. Despite differing social opinions on newly legalized substances judgment never came into our conversation or into her demeanor and treatment of me and my case. She was fiercely professional, her legal writing was incredible, her research and her paralegal were peerless and her lawyer associates beyond reproach.
I was never in the dark about the process. Never once. One of the first documents I received from Emma was an outline of expectations including the potential timeline, the steps that ultimately lead to a settlement or a trial and a pledge to each other that within a day of contacting each other for any reason we would return that communication within 48hrs. Lastly, what could have taken a year or two was wrapped up nicely in 7 months!
I could go on, but I'll sum it up like this. In all my life no one has advocated for me so thoroughly and with so much professionalism and tenacity. As I stated there is no guarantee of compensation or reward, but I NEVER felt like that was a factor. She won for me and without her truly knowing she saved me from a setback that could have negatively impacted my life for years to come. She took a risk on me and was confident in her ability and mine that we could win and in a way that lawyers do she cared for me. She'll never know how much that confidence in me was part of what helped me get through that time in my life. That IS what makes Emma Denny and her team true and genuine Champions of the People. We had a great experience working with Satveer Chaudhary on my spouse's visa change of status process from J2 to F1. He was incredibly patient, taking the time to answer all our questions thoroughly and helping us fill out the forms in the best way possible. We could always contact him directly and receive almost immediate responses from him (not an assistant), even after hours and on some weekends! I’m not sure if other lawyers would provide that level of service, especially with no extra charges. We also appreciated how thorough he was, staying in touch not only when the approval letter arrived but also during our trip to India for stamping. We truly appreciate his time and support throughout the process and highly recommend his services.

Wagner, Falconer and Judd, Ltd. helped me very much in my recent case of an unjust terminatinatiin with a company I had been with for almost 2 years. During that same period of time, I saw 7 different score managers come and go with only one if them having effective management skills because he had 21 years experience with the company and was a very effective manager. The large corporation I was a part of had been experiencing tgevresult if the high management turnover and had recently let 400 people go on division and corporate positions. Last week 9/5/24 our 16 years dream came true. Finally, we received our green cards. David Wilson worked on our case for the last 5 years.

Deeply disappointed. My response is strictly based on my experience which does not predict how your case will be handled but could be a deciding factor for you. Unresponsive. I have called and left messages and emails and voicemails weekly for a months, it’s been almost a year haven’t heard back from my representation since October of 2021 but , I requested representation back in March 2021. My last message/conversation I received , I was advised paperwork would be filled in order to proceed further. The administrative assistant are always pleasant but, no response is ever return. My calls go straight to voicemail now no one picks, up. At, this point I’m not sure about my case and there’s no one who seems to have interest in seeing that, I can have this proceed further as I was promised in March 2021. Having promises of documents being filled would help my family but tremendously but after a year no response I’m not sure if my claim matters or even if anything ever happened to begin with.
I’ll send an update so that you can make an informed decision especially if you have a family who depends on your support.
