DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM. Please read this before you waste your money. These people are crooks who will use scare tactics to get you to pay a ridiculous retainer. I paid $6000 for what 3 other lawyers quoted that they would have charged $3000 and I have now had to pay another $1000 to have another lawyer correct their ridiculous mistakes. They will act on their own accord and make decisions without your knowledge or authorization. I also had an issue with them contacting the mother of my children trying to play debt collector to get her to pay through a state sponsored program. I never requested that they have her child support directly withheld from her paychecks and I would NEVER allow a state agency to be involved in the payment of child support. Yet this firm took it up on themselves to do every grimy thing they possibly could to the mother of my children to try and screw her over. That's NOT what I asked for. I asked for a custody and simple child support agreement and everything beyond that would be handled by myself. so when I confronted this law firm about their incompetence and illegal actions as well as confronting them about them overcharging based on the scope of work (which is illegal according to the Florida bar) their response was to withdraw themselves from my case. THAT is all I needed to know that these lawyers are nothing more than crooks and when they get caught they tuck tail and run and hide behind legal loopholes so that they can steal your money and leave you high and dry. Oh and the ocean ng on the cake which is the real proof of their incompetence, they only got caught because of their wording in the final judgement. YOU ARE A FAMILY LAW FIRM!!!! HOW do you not submit inadequate paperwork when you do this on a regular basis. this is your specialty and you can't even do that right. so needless to say you money will be best spent elsewhere. literally chose any lawyer but this one in this area

Jennifer Dane is an awful GAL. So many people, including my children told her that their father was an alcoholic. That he drives drunk, locks them in the house from the time they are picked up from school and returned to school, friends who have inappropriately touched our daughter, won’t let them go to after school activities, and her recommendation for an alcoholic narcissist was to give him an extra day with the kids. Thank God the judge said no.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Jennifer Dane Family Law. My case was handled remotely as I had to leave FL after separation from my ex-husband after an almost 25 year marriage. I read reviews and their website and took a leap of faith and hired Jennifer from across the country. I also was comforted by having a fellow female as an attorney. What was seeming to be a cut/dry case was not, and lasted almost a year. Contested divorce, uncontested divorce, brief reconciliation attempt, back to contested, then finally mediation. Through all the twists and turns, Jennifer and her team kept me informed, they always looked ahead and guided me. The preparation and knowledge of my case was so obvious at mediation compared to the opposing party. I did not feel alone, she had my back and was able to kindly tell me when it was probably time to settle. If I ever make it back to FL, I'd love to meet her in person. I had Mr. Cotter as my attorney for 2 years during my divorce. Although I asked several times for something to be filed during my divorce, nothing was done and the only time I saw the judge was the 1 day for trial. $30k down the drain in emails because nothing else was ever done. It seems like he was avoiding going to court for any reason.
