We filed counterclaims against the mortgage company that was threatening foreclosure on us after they had promised (on paper) and failed to restructure our loan. The legal process took nearly 1 year, but was a bargain when one considers that during that period I had no mortgage payments. We went to mediation and the mortgage company backed down, modified our loan balance in our favor and gave us a below market interest rate. Victory to Counsel!!!...and us of course.
