I'm thankful for them they took my case when no one else would. I had been on ssdi and last year ssdi cut me off after spending months going back and forth asking me to submit updated info. In the end they cut me off saying they didn't get any updated info from my Dr's. I asked my Dr and was told ssdi never requested anything from them. So I got on the phone called about a dozen law offices. The other said they o ly delta with initially getting it then I found this offce explained everything to a clerk who said they felt i had a good case but have to verify with their lawyer and would call me back. A few minutes later he was back with me getting all the details. They filed the appeal for me and did the contact with the ssdi department even kept my insurance why I was going through the process. No mind you I did have to pay for it but in the end I got the funds from them back when they gave me my ssdi back. At 60 years oul and unable to work and being 100% disabled veteran if they hadn't helped i figure i probably wouldn't have got it back this quickly if at all. They do tell you upfront that it could take about a year and a half or more so I'm pleasantly surprised that from the time I contacted them in June last year because my June payment was going to be ly last but ofcorse I didn't think about the fact you get June payment in July. So from July till first week of February . I'm very impressed. The staff was always friendly. I never had to go into their office I did everything through phone, mail and email. The only reason for a 4 was I still had to fill out all the paperwork for ssdi myself. When I initially got it the place that was helping me even did the paperwork for me. So that's kind of what I expected. I'm not great with filling out paperwork lol If I contacted them they were always prompt with a response. If I ever have a reason for a lawyer office again and it's something they handle they will have my business. It was a pleasure. Thanks again

My experience with Avard , Micheal Sexton, my attorney is more than disappointing. I am well aware of the process for disability claims for I represented myself for 2 years. After being denied, I was referred to them. The lack of communication is unacceptable. I was a client for over 3 years. I wasn’t made aware of all of my responsibilities to obtain medical records until the last 3 months before my trial. A lot of the information they had in my file was completely incorrect. My age at the time was incorrect. They had no clue I was a widow of 9 years, which also falls into other disability categories. My medical conditions were stated incorrect. I was also sent to a Physician that stated my conditions incorrect. Had I had been informed to gather all of my medical and mental health records prior to 3 months of my trial, I would have done so. A major car accident lead to some of my disabilities. Those records were destroyed because it had been 10 years, 2 months prior to my trial. I am unable to support myself due to multiple conditions. The back and forth of Disability and SSI has left me with nothing. I will never recommend this Law firm and will definitely let everyone know how insufficient they are with their communication. How they do not even see you as a person till deadline and then have it all wrong! One of my statements from the Judge quotes ”client claims to have Hyper Mobility disorder due to a vehicle accident in 2014.” That is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard of. My Hyper Mobility issue is a birth defect. It has nothing to do with the accident, nor the titanium that has rebuilt my shattered right foot, or my spine and neck issues. What a load of crap!! I am now left pocket change and a very small amount to live on. This is absurd and I will tell Everyone how ridiculous this law firm is. I am not the first to be disappointed and I surely won’t be the last. I hope they enjoy taking money from the people who actually need it! Good Riddance!!!!

I could not have been more pleased in working with Mrs. Martin in the handling my deceased sister's estate. I live out of state and my sister did not leave a will. With Mrs. Martin's clear step by step directions and her prompt responsiveness to my questions, the initiation of and the completion ofthe probate process went very smoothly. Her pleasant personality was an added plus in handling the challenges of dealing with the loss of a loved one.

I arrived to my father’s wake in Florida where I was going to reunite with my sister and go over his estate. My sister denied me any access to my father’s personal belongings, assets or his estate. So I knew I needed to hire a lawyer and contacted Martin Law Firm since they are in the same area my father lived in. Ms. Eviana Martin took my case which became a complicated litigation case. I live in N.Y.C. and needed someone that can represent me. Ms. Eviana has integrity , compassion & confidence. She is quickly to identify relevant details from legal documents. Ms. Eviana was quick with response's via emails, phone calls , etc . Most importantly she was very knowledgeable about the law and very professional. I’m very thankful to Ms. Eviana Martin for the outcome of my case. I extremely recommend Ms. Eviana Martin for any of your litigation cases. N.Y.C. Roberto F.

The Martin Law Firm was an invaluable asset to me in expertly and expeditiously serving my trust and estate needs. Attorney Steven Martin and his staff are hard-working, dedicated and importantly they have the ability to see the big picture in often complex, emotionally-charged matters. His perspective and counsel has made me more confident and informed related to protecting my family and future. Behind Atty. Martin, is his firm: the Martin Law Firm; the firm offers a feeling of comfort and home in which there are no barriers of access - it is clear that all staff members in the office are treated with respect and importance. Despite the firm’s relatively small size, I always feel like there was more than one professional who had my back; I believe the entire firm is my support system. The firm’s expertise overall is wide in scope, though the practice maintains its focus and instead of deviating from their core expertise - the staff and leadership at The Martin Law Firm will ensure that a professional with specific expertise is brought in to add an extra layer of confidence through his or her niche experience. The Martin Law firm helped me achieve the goals I needed for my family and me. I put my full faith, trust and highest recommendation to those considering their options for legal matters or counsel.

Highly recommended!! My very first call to them was answered by Mr. Steve Martin. He was so calming, knowledgeable, and nice. I received an appointment that day and was helped by legal assistant, Miss Claudia, who was just as warm and professional. My nerves were put at ease, my case was expedited and I felt like part of their family. I honestly can’t say enough of wonderful things about Martin Law Firm, and how truly grateful I am to have had them on my side.

Mr. Youngner’s services are exceedingly professional, expert and effective. My case involved delicate interaction with local and higher Headquarters military authorities and necessitated an insightful and experienced understanding of U.S.Code and Military Law and the nuanced application of each. In all, Mr. Youngner's level of expertise and communication skills were direct, insightful and complete, enabling optimum case resolution. I simply cannot compliment Mr. Youngner enough for all his truly exceptional work, completed on my behalf, including responding to an urgent legal matter during his personal time off. His ongoing case management was always complete; and at the same time, his client interaction was always courteous and personable. His knowledge of the subject matter and grasp of my case’s impacts also enabled max effectiveness in dealing with all related authorities. The support staff at Tully Rinckey is as well warm, competent and professional (especially his assistant Ms Sherry Holland). Tully Rinckey PLLC is a superb law firm and Mr. Youngner is in particular, an outstanding civilian, military attorney.

I had been seeking justice for many years on my own, but it was to no avail due to the tangled administrative and military laws and lack of support. I finally found Larry at what felt like the last hour, because I couldn't fight anymore. Larry heard me, and not only believed in my case, but he believed in me and the cause. It was an intense case and after all these years of hardship and trauma I was finally made whole and it is absolutely attributed to the in-depth expertise, unique approach, and genuineness of Larry. He spoke the truth in the most honorable and strategic manner and the military finally heard me, because Larry stood up for what was just. I couldn't believe it, but I received a positive outcome in less than 4 weeks after the military board heard my case through Larry. For any individual seeking justice, through not just a lawyer, but through someone who is actually compassionate, straightforward, positive, and fully vested in you, then look no further. Larry is a rare lawyer, because he is first a human and he invests everything he has and more to support you first, and the rest will follow.

In my opinion, Mr. Youngner is a very sharp attorney and advocate. He communicates clearly (and is available). After reviewing my case, Mr. Youngner found more than two additional points of noncompliance by the offending department in my appeal for correction. Mr. Youngner and his team kept me informed of the status of my case at regular intervals. He sets reasonable expectations and meets them. Dealing with a large and impersonal bureaucracy, a person needs an advocate as effective as Mr. Youngner. I highly recommend Mr. Youngner.

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

  10. Are there alternative ways to resolve my legal issue?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cape Coral, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
