Andrew is so personable and I love talking with him whether it’s about business or about cars. And you made it so easy dealing with my legal case I would highly recommend you hire him for your case! He is voted as the top lawyer in Clearwater for a reason!

Andrew is a true saint. He was the most understanding and compassionate person I have met in a long time. Completely professional and wholly dedicated to helping people. I was not expecting the level of personal attention and dedication he presented in my case. I honestly couldn't have wished for a better guy. I got so lucky to have him on my case. With all the speedbumps and setbacks my case had, I was surprised at the level of professionalism and skill he was able put into my case. The guy is brilliant and very very savvy with Florida law. I could go on for days about how much I like this guy and what an awesome lawyer he is but I think you get the idea. I have dealt (and am still working with) other attorneys on much older cases and much more simple cases, but Spence blows them all out of the water. The guy isn't human. Thanks Andrew Never change buddy

From the first meeting I had with Andrew, I realized that I was no longer alone in my struggle. He listened without judgement and helped me see that there was hope. He is very understanding and empathetic. He clearly layed out my options with the pros and cons of each. He was always available to talk if I had questions, and explained things as many times as necessary so that I felt comfortable and understood. I was kept informed every step of the way by his kind and professional support staff. The outcome of my case was satisfactory. He fought for me, obtaining terms that I requested. Andrew is a fine man of integrity that really cares about what he does and how it affects the lives of his clients. I will highly recommend Andrew Spence, Esq.

When I met Andrew I was a person in extreme pain. My workers compension group were dragging their feet approving the surgery that my doctors recommended to give me relief from the pain. I had never hired a lawyer before and was very nervous, unsure I was making the right decision. Andrew listened to my concerns and about everything I had been going through since my injury a year before, he reassured me that I was doing the right thing, I wasn't looking for anything unreasonable. Andrew and his assistant Patrica were there for me anytime I had a question, even when I felt it was a "silly" question. After hiring Andrew a lot of the stress in my life went away, I knew that someone other then my doctors, finally was looking out for me and my rights as an injured worker. I hope I never need a lawyer for another injury again, but if I do I will be giving Andrew a call.

I was injured on my job, twice. Although there were at least 4 sit down positions and at least 3 positions to sit when the rush was over, I was told "you can't sit down!" I was left no choice but to quit a job I had for 14 years. For Andrew Spence, this was not acceptable and convinced me I had a case for compensation through workman's comp. He's very professional, for the injured (he had a brother who was injured) and in a very timely manner scheduled Dr's appts, scheduled a deposition and mediation in his office and was successful in getting me the maximum claim allowed for a person on medicare without Medicare approval! His assistant answered my phone calls, emails, texts every time. She was so nice and compassionate.

Mr, Carrion was my lawyer in a very long drawn complicated case from 2000 to 2011 and subsequently as well. He is professional and from what I observed most Judges find him to be articulate and a true gentleman. His legal acumen is unmatched and his strategy well thought out. Not only is he mild mannered but down to earth and sharp. Great immigration lawyer!

I had a very complicated immigration case because of my previous lawyer’s negligence and as a result, I was in removal proceedings. I looked for a knowledgeable, competent and honest lawyer and after research I hired Mr. Carrion to represent me. He was honest and realistic about expectations, filing process, court procedures and timelines. Because of his expertise and hard work I obtained permanent residency. He always stayed on top of my case and comforted me when I was disappointed and nervous. He kept me informed at all times and was in constant communication with me during the whole process. He worked out a payment plan for me which helped me pay his fees easier, during the time he represented me and won my case. His staff was very helpful and kind, always there for me. Mr. Carrion is simply the best and would highly recommend him to anyone who is dealing with immigration matters.

Without Mr Carrion's help, I would never have been able to make this journey. He is a wonderful Immigration Attorney and one I would truly recommend. He is very professional, means business and gets it done! His office staff were always available to help with any questions I had regarding my case if Mr Carrion wasn't available. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you!

I went to anne scared and nervous, I just didn't want to hire any lawyer. I've hired a lawyer before that was just about the money and did not care about my case. The first thing that I noticed about anne is that she listened. she put her phone away and closed her laptop and listen to my story. After I was done she explain the steps that she would take to solve my case, then asked if I would like to hire her to represent me. my case she was always honest with me even if it was good or bad. She kept me informed on all the little details, and most of all she did not make me feel pressured.she is more than just a lawyer she is a caretaker and I will go to her for all my legal advice. P.S. Thank you once again for everything that you have done for me

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Clearwater, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
