Flat fee advertised on line is not what we paid, fee quoted/paid for probate was almost tripled despite having original will. Working with the team was always negative, many people involved in chains of emails all providing, usually conflicting responses. This was a low cost estate value (small home no other assets)and probate filings were lost, as they don't send valuable, sensitive court documents via a secured method ( certified, Fedex, using a tracking #) I was told I could call the court house and order more for a fee, they don't do that. Makes no sense to me with such delicate information to add in the original fees $25 for a shipping method with tracking. Also, puts a sour taste because Estate is closed, gone through probate and basically, they are done with you. They did send, the same way, regular USPS the documents after me requesting "where are the official signed court documents" as we needed them to sell the house. One individual says " As we said before, we don't do that" All this because documents are not sent secure, why? to save a few bucks? Hardly seems worth the aggravation and time spent of both parties. It is a challenge not working with a home team of attorneys and trusting a stranger in another state to make things painless as possible and smooth, which for anyone calling a probate law firm , said person would be going through a challenging time. Thankfully, my family was always on the same page as I, as Executrix. I have voiced my concerns to the company throughout the process. Having one point of contact would be beneficial, as during these times, there are so many moving parts not just probate. Also, hiring on an individual person with compassion and understanding of the emotions involved would also be beneficial to the company and the client. Having the right person in the right place as a point of contact would have made the experience better. I have gone through probate before and based comparatively on those experiences, other firms, I felt cared for, understood and the trust was established to relieve burden and worry for the process. Strong and clear discussion regarding the law should be discussed prior. I take partial responsibility for that, but again, emotional time and I am not the expert in law nor were any of us residing in the particular county. Simple solutions.

The experience was very challenging but at the end I was happy!

We are so happy we selected Ponnock Law to represent us in probating our son’s estate. As the estate was small, it was decided that a Summary of Administration was the most appropriate for our situation and the least costly. Every other attorney we spoke to not only quoted double or triple Ponnock’s fees, but lead us to believe that the Summary would never be approved by the courts. Not only was it approved, but it was done in less than four weeks. Thanks to everyone at Ponnock for your professionalism and responsiveness to our needs.
