100 dollars just for a consultation.

I scheduled an appointment for a consultation more than a month ago. About two weeks ago, Mr. Alfonso's legal assistant informed me she had to cancel it, so she rescheduled me two weeks further out. I showed up today, and the friendly receptionist asked me to sign a sheet of paper, to verify my name and correct address. As I glanced toward the bottom of the sheet, I noticed it included an agreement to pay a $100 consultation fee. The legal assistant had opportunities during the last 30 days, to let me know that the consultation was $100, and not free. Nobody should be required to pay a $100 fee, for a 5, 10, 15 minute consultation, to find out if the attorney's retainer is $2,000.00 or $10,000. I do not know if they only do this to potential clients who are driving a distance (I drove from Wesley Chapel) or locals as well. Like most people who are searching for an attorney, I look for hints of integrity and professionalism from a Law Firm that is going to be handling my personal family matters. Maybe the surprise consult fee was a blessing, a sign to find another law office.

We came to Mr Hersch seeking guidance and complete support as we selected him as our representation, we have never been more wrong in doing so, we felt Mr Hersch gave almost no mind to our case, we felt he was not helping us at all, we were never on the same page, there were times where he would contradict himself, we felt our case was prolonged as much as possible by this firm, so that they could over bill us. He should be ashamed of himself for taking advantage of people when they are already in a difficult time in there lives and are seeking guidance and representation and are paying for his services.
