Brody M. Shulman is by far the most responsive, authentic and positive attorney I have ever had represent me. Perera Barnhart accepted my case (s) and within the beginning discovery process, Brody became the main attorney I spoke to, and he made a difficult process very easy to work through and remained optimistic and explained the details of the law and how it affected my case, one issue at a time. He allowed me to be a part of the team, and considered all of my input thoughout the process and always let me know what information was relevant or not and explained how the law works in any question or concern that I had. He always answered every single question I had, in detail. I never had to wait more than a few hours for any response to an inquiry. If I contacted him after office hours, he would reply first thing the next morning. Lawsuits can be very stressful, but just like a coach who keeps his players in the winning frame of mind, Brody kept me focused on the positives and the finish line. I highly recommend him and any attorney at Perera Barnhart, they work together as an outstanding team and will not let you down!

I was a victim of slip & fall accident while at work and unlawfully terminated in a very disrespectful manner. The manager at the time didn't even want to pay me the last week I worked there. The accident happened in Feb this year since then I haven't been able to do anything properly because of the unbearable pain that takes over my body. The Doctors requested physical therapy for me to improve a bit my injures and it has been a total nightmare trying to get these therapies authorised from WC. The insurance company adjuster never answered the phone nor reply to my messages. Always left me waiting with no answer nor solutions to my situation which was THE PAIN that I could NOT stand! Specially at the beginning of the accident... So, tired, stressed out, frustrated and desperate with the PAIN I thought I had enough of their game & injustice and I decided to hire an Attorney. I call Rubinstein Law phone number I saw on TV and they refered me to Remer & Georges-Pierre, PLLC Attorneys at Law. The process began and my case was almost in the same stage when I tried to manage it on my own. The company responsible for my slip/fall accident at work and the unlawful employment termination were not responding through their Insurance Company. The adjuster wasn't answering the phone nor replying to any of the messages and emails the legal assistant from Remer & Georges-Pierre, PLLC Law Firm was leaving. It seems like they were doing/playing the same game to them once again! So, the Mediation appointment arrived which I personally thought nothing special was going to happen or change due to the resistance and absence of the other party (The Company responsible). So, I was waiting in the Conference room by myself and my Attorney arrived. He introduced himself as BRODY SHULMAN. He gave me a bit of his background/experience and then he proceeded to explain my situation in details in order for me to understand every single aspect of it and its posibilities. He made me feel confortable and the most important thing that ... I was in good hands! The Mediation started and the Mediator was telling me how in disavantage I was against the other party making me feel and think I should give up! I expressed my opinion on this situation and how this has affected me physically, mentally and emotionally. The Mediator reply: That's why you should end this now Deep inside me I didn't know what to do after I listened to the Mediator. The only thing I saw coming was... A LONG dragging back and forward discussion with no end in it! Then, something magical happens! It was to me anyway. My Attorney step up and said: May I speak to my client for a minute please? The Mediator replied: Of course. (leaving the room) My Attorney BRODY SHULMAN talked to me and explained in details while we had a coffe break before we started de Mediation process he already had stepped up and talked to the WC representative to find out whether or not we could reach an agreement that would be acceptable for me. Wow! I was totally AMAZED by how fast, professional and proactive this Attorney was! I admit he looks kind of young but his abilities and professionalism go beyond his age! I'm really pleased and satisfied with the outcome of this Mediation appointment obtained by my Attorney BRODY M. SHULMAN The Settlement Agreement has been reached thank to you! I Congratulate You for reaching Excellency in the Ability of doing your job! and Wishing You tremendous Succes in your Career and opportunities ahead in the near future! Your Client

Attorney, Alana Weatherstone is one of the most honorable attorneys I have ever come across. I found Alana Weatherstone when I contacted Gordon & Doner regarding a personal injury and uninsured motorist (UM) case. I was in need of a lawyer right away after discharging a previous firm and needed the best attorney/counsel possible! Ms. Weatherstone was so responsive, attentive, detail-oriented, strategic, and most importantly, very honest! I couldn’t have been more pleased with Alana Weatherstone! Exactly what I’ve been looking for in an attorney! Highly recommend to others!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Davie, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
