READ Genine's lowest ratings and you BETTER BELIEVE them! I called this woman in regards to a case that I had no clue about from years prior. As combat veteran suffering from PTSD, she used the military career of her father to embed a narcissistic promise to me. She assured me I was in the best hands and so on. I gave her a lump sum deposit with a certain amount owed as a payment for the next few months. On the third month, she sent me an email demanding me to pay double for that month as the next month was the last. She never did anything on my case. She was hired in April 2022 and May 2022 she emailed me stating she was scheduling depositions. More than a month went by so I inquired to the progress. No response. One, I wasn't sure how she was scheduling depositions anyway since none of the witnesses couldn't even be located due to the time that had gone by. In June 2022, things started to worsen with her. She emailed me a plea deal and I refused it as this case was a self defense case. She didn't like that, not one bit. She called me, I believe 05 July 2022 and verbally offered the deal again. I declined and asked what was next, since court was on 07 July 2022. She proceeded to get nasty with me and hung up on me. She then emailed me stating she was withdrawing from my case. I hate math, but now it all adds up. This was her plan all along: to either just get a plea deal for $xx,000 or to withdraw. Another attorney on November 01, 2022, I spoke to a few attorneys regarding my case and one in particular, without even looking my case up or even knowing my name, knew the attorney I was describing when I told her the story of Genine Mejia. Within seconds, attorney Jessica Damoth immediately said "was Genine Mejia the attorney that was your second attorney." I said "YES! How did you know?" Jessica's response was "Genuine has a reputation around the court of doing just this to many clients." I was shocked and still am that this attorney knew who I was talking about and didn't know my name or case. Genine stole a pile of cash from me and never even stood in court one time for my case. She never conducted depositions. She never did anything. She tried to trick me into paying her the remaining balance as she already knew she was withdrawing from my case. Once she was paid, we never had a good conversation like the first one, which she was basically a used car salesman during that call. This woman will LIE to you and STEAL your money. If you retain her, I highly suggest using a recorder app on your phone or using a recorder with her. If you have problems with her, I'd also highly advise you to file a complaint against her with the Florida Bar. I have now and it was way over due.

The LO of Genine Ann Mejia is very accommodating, kind, caring and strives to help out their clients with their cases. When I met Genine she walked me through the process of what she does as an attorney to help me get through the journey we would go on together. She treats her clients like family and makes sure to update you on what is happening. As someone who had been in my career shoes, she knew just how I’d be feeling and what I’d go through. She will fight hard for you and make sure that her services get you to where you deserve to be. I very much recommend her as an attorney for anyone else out there that needs a trustworthy, and compassionate lawyer to help guide them through to a better tomorrow. She truly deserves 10 stars. Without going into my case, I had an evening on the town go terribly wrong and was facing some serious consequences. Genine helped me in so many ways, starting from our first conversation. She eased my fears, but made no false promises. I was represented and advocated for like family. The office staff is wonderful, but I spoke directly to Genine most of the time which is unheard of with other firms. I thank her for being patient, putting on her “fighting pants”, and providing the best possible outcome for me.

I can't say enough about how attentive Genine was to my concerns and her resiliency in personalizing my issues. She was able to resolve my case with a better result than we even anticipated. She is honest, open and kind.
